Rules of thumb to avoid sinking girls:

1) ships can be sunk when they BEGIN A BATTLE while being HEAVILY DAMAGED (Red japanese writing besides their face + damaged artwork of the girl)

(dang i can't remember the deal about fatigue....)

2) Day and Night Battle are considered ONE single battle (so if you are hit to 1hp in day battle you can go on to night battle and won't sink)

3) the Flagship CANNOT be sunk under ANY circumstance (if you try to sortie with the flagship in red the game will simply refuse and send you home)

You have to try to sink a ship in this game really. They make it hard as shit. Anyway, I played for a little while but the completely random battle system ended up turning me off. The girls are cute but god damn give me something I can actually play  :V

I hope the Vita game is fun, if that thing ever actually comes out.

Luckily I've somehow managed to not lose anyone in the months that I've had this new account, so I like to think that I've gotten more cautious.

Doesn't excuse my loss of Junyou and Ryuujou in my original account though. ;-;

I somehow against massive odds managed to fail a D ranked expedition, any tips?

Which expedition? Some of them have specific fleet requirements you need to meet to be able to pass them.

You get 3 fuel every 3 minutes, expeditions can give you some, and some nodes during sorties will give you supplies too.

Expeditions are your main means of collecting resources (So yes, you get fuel, steel, ammo, and Bauxite this way).(rjd also has good advice)

What you need to do when you when going on an expedition is to remember the following:

Did you remember to fully resupply your fleet? If so, you should be fine.

Is your fleet or flagship at the apporpiate level? Some expiditions require flagships to be specific levels in order to successfully beat them. If you meet the requirements, then you should be fine.

Do you have the right fleet composition? Some expiditions require certain ships to be in your fleet. Most of the early ones require at least destroyers and light cruisers to make use of the expiditions.

Yup just got home and saw it. All I can say is, I'm surprised, but considering the theme they have been putting into (regarding Recon planes) IT seems only Ideal that Tone and Chikuma were due for an upgrade.

If the article I read regarding the plan to upgrade them is correct. They intended to convert them to Aviation Cruisers which is what Tone and Chikuma is suppose to actually be.

Welp it's been confirmed by the Devs:

Kanmusus expected for Kai Ni upgrade

Tone
Chikuma
Bismarck (If completed on time for the event)

But they all require an item for thier upgrade.

So if you have been partaking in those monthly extra operations it will be the only way you'll be able to get the badges required for this.

Which mean 1-5 and 5-5.

At the moment, since they are the only maps available, unless you clear them both monthly since they appeared 2 month ago. You probably won't have enough badges till sometime afteward.

Also Bismarck sits on the fence right now if she'll be completed on time or not for the event.

So anyways, good luck on those badges. I knew they would have importance sooner or later.

Edit: Badges will also be given out for the Spring event itself. This'll be your golden opprotunity to get some of these Kanmusus upgrades if you can make progress.

Given that's a four month wait time normally for newer users, that's going to destroy power progression for newer players if so.

I think this'll only apply to the new Kanmusu upgrades introduced with this upcoming update. Taking away Kai Ni you could get via leveling would be wrong and make things taxing.

Still I think it's ok for some Kanmusu to require other special requirements....

Think of it as like Pokemon when you use certain stones on certain pokemon to get them to evovle.

I've got two badges at the moment, so I should be able to afford at least one of the Kai Ni upgrades by the time the event ends.
