Unlike the old Tohosort, this one has all characters up to Forbidden Scrollery! Minus, like, Giant Toad and stuff. Sorry to break any Giant Toad fans' hearts.
Now with consistent character portraits and a text-only button.

For my part, I'm going to call this the Kilgamayan-is-never-going-to-speak-to-me-again edition:

Surprise is minimal. I expected a lot of these characters to place fairly high, it was just a matter of figuring out what order they'd land in.

I didn't really know the concept, and I might have rage-clicked a bit, but still.
Not including characters from PC-98 games :

Didn't expect Murasa to be that high, but I have to admit she's cool. Otherwise, no real surprise

Marisa is just not giving up her top spot. Like ever. And Yorihime is settling in 2nd for the third time. After that it goes all crazy.

Top ten, though I extended it to eleven seeing as the same character is in there twice. I really don't like how there is a separate PC-98 version of some characters. If it's the same person, she should only be in there once.

I have the exact same sentiments. I don't know how in my list pc-98 yuuka placed 11 spots over current yuuka.

It's probably for those who are just sorting for PC-98 characters and Windows characters separately (or more commonly, just the Windows characters).

Here come the notes :

-The top 3 is exactly the same as my previous sort. (I always merge Classic Yuuka with Yuuka; otherwise, it's a Yuuka 1 & 2.) That's the first time that has ever happened.
-Okazaki leaping into 4th keeps the 'PC-98 can't break the Top 3 (Yuuka doesn't count because she is always 1st)' streak alive; after knocking Rikako down past Meria, who leaps into the Top 10 with that.
-Koishi is almost in the Top 10; was 18th last time. A lot has changed since cooling down from Doki Doki. If only that worked with Koakuma, who has dropped to 33rd now. o_O
-Letty drops out of the Top 10 for the first time in ages; and is the only one to leave the Top 10 from last time. Wasn't expecting that at all. Then again, Meria entering the Top 10 has something to do with that.
-Reisen (SSiB) takes last place instead of Evil Eye Sigma... meaning once again, last place has changed! No one ever stays there a second time... I wonder... :V
-Reimu ranked 97th, dropping 2 places from last time. Marisa, however, drops from 33rd to 50th! O_O I mean, Sanae was the only one who went up; from 106th to 76th!
-Gengetsu is one of the very rare non-movers outside of the Top 10; staying in 14th from last time. That girl never moves! ><

Only real surprise here is Reimu ending up in the top 10. The top 10 itself shuffled around a little but the top 3 are basically set in stone. Also, Sigma needs more love.

Out of the 70 characters I sifted through, there were 10 "tiers"; 01, 03, 11, 14, 15, 24, 35, 40, 44, 70.
I'm a bit surprised Cirno and Daiyousei were so low, at 40, and manually I'd be putting them at either 5th or 6th tier, and Star Sapphire would be down with the rest of her trio in the 9th had she not been lucky in her opponents. Mamizou and Miko should probably be 7th tiers, and Flandre and Meiling could comfortably fit into 5th tier.
Apart from those, close enough. The 3rd tiers in particular are liable to fluctuate up or down one rank sporadically.

Incidentally, 9 of the top 10 appear (with dialogue, that is) in the fighting games, and of those I consider all bar Yukari to have their most entertaining appearances in said games (excluding fan works).

Alright, since it decided to stop showing the results and I'm not going through the whole procedure again, here are my results from memory...

3-way tie between Utsuho, Yuyuko, and Koishi for 1st...

6-way tie for 4th between Satori, Sanae, Kanako, Remilia, Sakuya, and someone else...

In fact, the first ~30 entries were mostly ties. That sorter could use some work, since some undeserving characters got pretty far on the list.

Nue was all alone at rank 17. Lol.

Last time I did this was years ago, so let's see how this turns out...

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Yuyu, Marisa, Yukari, 1-2-3 forever.
I'm surprised Remi went up and Koishi stayed put - thought they'd drop.
Keine and Yuuka push Lyrica and Aya out of the top ten, Lyrica going from 10 to 14, and Aya from 5 to 20.
But when it comes to drops, Reimu takes the cake, going from 40 to 79.
First PC-98 exclusive is 22 - Mima, followed right after by Kana. Yes, they somehow beat Yumemi (25). You may now chair me for not SCIENCEing hard enough.
Kosuzu, Kasen, and Kourin all ended up together from 35 to 37. Akyuu was 21, so she wins the book character-off handily.
Rinnosuke was the first man, of course, though Unzan wasn't far behind at 40.
And the bottom is full of Toyohime, Alice, and Tewi. Reisen was down here too last time, but she's moved up a few notches in my sight. Not THAT far though, she's still in the triple digits.

these lists never work out well for me, because if you misjudge one match-up, certain characters will place far lower than they deserve.
I'm particularly blaming the PC-98 dupes for that; they should just be excluded if you select both PC-98 and Windows games, because I had no idea what to do with them. in the end, they dragged down a lot of characters probably by 10-20 places (chiyuri, yumemi, to a lesser extent dai).
other notes:
- youmu/koishi is always kinda hard to decide, but I try to avoid ties, and youmu isn't as tragic I guess
- yukari sure has gone up after not paying attention to her forever
- lots of PC-98 love in this thread, but then again I have mai and ellen <33
- kana top ten what. maybe she deserves top 20, but I didn't know I liked her that much, haha
- should not have placed reimu over alice (alice is at least above suwako), but at least I retaliated by picking PC-98 alice over her respective reimu. probably should have gone for reimu/sanae/sakuya/marisa in a row instead, would have been kinda funny
- futo over yoshika, chen over the scarlets, shou over byakuren, kanako over ichirin over okuu, PC-98 dupes over merlin over actually deserving chars, god what the hell was I thinking hnnngh
- parsee/yuugi always used to be close, but now they're 20/34 huh
- kurumi making herself a nice home between the PC-98 dupes mmm
- let it be known that the bottom place occupants are creeps

Indeed. I think I somehow placed Reimu above some other characters I liked and then decided that Reimu was pretty boring so about half my favorites got pushed down 10 spots or so.

I think you should be given a choice to merge them or not. I think some people might consider them to be different characters.

My top 5 is pretty consistent with how it was last time, though 5 was originally a tie between Shikieiki, Komachi and Mokou. Komachi just moved down a spot and Mokou somehow moved back to 18, leaving Eiki as the sole owner of 5. The rest of my top ten was pretty consistent, though, with Iku sneaking in and Sanae and Alice switching places. Though I had PC-98 Reimu at 10 in both polls, so I usually just count my 11 (in both cases, Byakuren) as 10 instead.
