Does anyone know if new record alerts are posted anywhere (as they used to be on Twitter several years ago)? It takes much longer to check for new ☆ submissions for each Royalflare game than to check for new scoreboard posts, and not every world record is submitted there either. I suppose for now the world records will just need to be manually reported. Please also report any mistakes you may find.

I know there's the Touhou Wiki which tracks for newly beaten World Records (including shot-type-specific ones). However I think records that don't get posted on RoyalFlare won't end up in this list. Personally I think displaying records like this is fine, although it would've been nice if the records linked to the replays of them.

The Chinese wiki has recent records? That's interesting. Seems faster than checking for ☆'s, at least.

I was considering a spreadsheet since that could auto-calculate/color the %, and keep the name/score/shot type/% aligned in columns (which could be easily adapted to add more columns, such as the date or replay link). It could also be more compact, for example by having the world records on the left and the MotK records on the right (or vice versa), allowing more than 1-2 games to be visible at the same time. Though keeping World/MotK vertically adjacent like this has its advantage for directly comparing the scores.

That does look pretty good, although I think you can drag the columns for replays so it is a bit longer? I'm not too sure, I thought it was possible in Google Spreadsheets.

I finished filling out the replay columns. Also auto-generated the record holder frequency that Shimatora used to manually include, along with some random mostly-pointless trivia for fun. Heartbeam still holds a surprising quantity of records for someone who closed their account around 2012.

I wonder if a format like this could work for MotK's best scores on the single-stage games, to have more options than those old total-score StB/DS threads? It seems like it'd be too much work to have full submissions for those, since people could easily submit 50 or so replays at the same time, but perhaps the best score for each stage wouldn't be too difficult to track?

Looks like kisara's nearly swept the LoLK records, including the overall record on all 5 difficulties, and most of the rest as of now. The latest is Hard Reisen 2,549,910,870. Despite their different play styles, Reisen and Sanae records are close on all difficulties except Lunatic (and arguably Easy, where Reisen's always remained ahead).

Also, izumico improved EoSD Hard to 523,094,750, higher than the apparently cheated score, this time with a replay.

EoSD Lunatic broke the 700 million mark-- 709,947,060 by SOC, a player who I recall was known for Lunatic perfects in the past?

Also, GFW Lunatic is up to 120,193,990, by someone who submitted as "The Challenge", in-game "CHALENGI". The wiki lists the player as "megapulse" though.

As the person who updates the english leaderboards (but not neccesarily the chinese one, though I certainly do at times), I feel I should explain why it lists the player name as "Megapulse", and the underlying situation behind this.

"The Challenge" is basically an injoke in the english speaking Touhou discords. Put simply, he stole multiple runs - most notably テン's 2.994 billion SA lunatic MarisaC run - and did a terrible job of hiding it. The video is here. We called him out - notice he disabled comments.
Basically it became a meme to joke about him being some superplayer of legends.

Megapulse took it too far and uploaded a replay to RF under that name. We know it's him - Chum is currently not playing GFW, and Megapulse is the only other person capable of 120m right now. Moreover, this is not the first time he's done this - he uploaded the same run to another thing under "The Challenge". Notice the second half of the description references the video title - "only a lunatic would even try."

I basically told KyoriAsh (who usually updates the chinese wiki's leaderboards) and we both decided to have the score up there under the name "megapulse" because it's his replay.

I can also confirm with 99% certainty this is not actually the WR - Mega is hiding replays, even score numbers, which is frustrating... he would not reveal his PB.

I hope that clears everything up.

MegaPulse also raised GFW Lunatic A2 to 125,597,130. In the video it says the player is 溶けない炎天下の氷精. Although I don't know what this reads, I'm pretty sure it's still MegaPulse, as he's the only one actively scoring A2 and the only active WR-level scorer I'm aware of. That and the fact that he's been streaming his runs with the Brown Label and his playstyle very much looks like MegaPulse's.

On a semi-related note, Royalflare never added a scoreboard for the HSiFS demo, when for the last few demos there's been one within the first few weeks. I wonder if they haven't decided how to split the categories, either?

7,116,020,860 by collett. It's interesting how HSiFS is both the lowest-scoring main series game in a while when not scoring, and the highest when scoring.

Also Royalflare does have a scoreboard, but the message at the top claims it's temporary? I suppose it isn't done yet?
