>You don't know much more than the average resident of Gensokyo, you think. You know that many of them came to be judged at Higan, but not all of them. By and large, it wasn't spoken about much. Shiki wouldn't go into details about the cases she covered or judged out of respect for the departed. Komachi would sometimes drop a quip about some weird thing or other she heard from someone she ferried that usually didn't make a lot of sense to your younger self. You have a pretty good understanding that the world outside has moved strongly away from the ideas of faith and magic, and it has both solved and caused a lot of problems. You're not sure precisely how, but you know it involves a lot of weird gadgetry and such. You're also aware that those problems sometimes gave them both a greater than average workload, so you think it's probably a net negative.

>A bit of both. There wasn't any one event that lead to you leaving, but there was a definite personality conflict between yourself and Shikieiki, which was often exacerbated by Komachi taking her side rather than yours. You are pretty sure that toward the end, they were secretly ashamed of you. There was no big dramatic fight that lead you to leave, just a slow buildup until you finally decided it was time to leave and make your own way. You are certain this disappointed them all the more. If you met them in the streets somewhere, you're sure it would be civil, but likely with dramatic undertones. Particularly with Shikieiki, she never forgets and never forgives, underneath that calm 'rational' exterior.

A shield could be very useful. We could keep the side it's attached to to the rear most of the time, but orient it forwards in battle to block danmaku.

>You suppose you could tie it off to the side or behind if you had some rope or a strap. Alternately, you might be able to strap it to your back if you don't mind it riding a bit high. You aren't sure if it'd throw off your flight, you don't know how heavy it is, but you think positioning might deal with any wind resistance problems.

>It's recharging, nothing you can do about that right now.
>You can use captured cards as inspirations for your own spellcards. As well, they are most definitely marks of honor, not just anyone can say they've captured a spellcard.
>The mouse youaki examines your bottle, and whistles. "Oh, that's some good stuff. I think I could give you the shield for this. As for that other thing, it looks like a sword hilt alright. That's what I'd use it for, anyways, if I were into swords."

I'll try to write up a list of my varying degrees of willing-to-part at lunch for easy reference (and argument material).

Also I suddenly want that arrow. More than the shield, even.
