Anyone get the DLC that released yesterday, and if so, how is it? I'm holding out till I see the season pass on sale (which probably won't be till christmas) to get it, but I am rather curious about it...
It's fun!  It's a lot of running back and forth, especially if you do all the sidequests, but there are fast travel stations, so (with the exception of one sidequest to get scrap metal) it's not so bad.  (Seriously don't do the scrap metal one, there's no good dialogue and no good reward, it just straight-up sucks.)  The dialogue is pretty good overall, and there are no new legendaries but a lot of places with decent loot, especially relics.  Apparently (haven't quite finished it yet) there's also a raid boss which can only be done once per day who drops Seraph Crystals, which can be traded in at a special store for the Seraph-tier stuff...but apparently most of it isn't that great!  Add to that the fact that you need to farm several runs' worth to buy just one and most people are just going to cheat themselves the crystals :V

It does, however, have a few cool items with red text, including an extremely powerful shotgun that actually deals recoil damage to you with each shot - this thing is utterly fantastic with Gaige's Blood-Soaked Shields.

I love that, means I pick up two Anarchy stacks every time I fire - one for the kill and one for the reload!

I'm finding that the Anarchy playstyle only really works because of how good Blood-Soaked Shields is.  It really is a fantastic skill.

If I was able to get to the point where I actually start getting skill points, I too would enjoy the mechromancer...But as it is, I keep dying like a punk. One of my friends told me the game makes enemies harder based on what class you're playing; The MM apparently gets the hardest boosts. It's gotten to the point where I have trouble killing any enemy that's even one level above me, it's that hard. :/ Or maybe I just suck because I haven't played any FPSes...I dunno. I really want to enjoy this game, I really do, but if the dang starting zone is giving players trouble (I have to escort Claptrap to his ship or something), then I think something must've went wrong.

class-based difficulty boost is bullshit afaik

mechromancer has a tree literally designed for people who haven't played fps before. also adding a super difficult class boost is stupid and defeats the point

Honestly, the starting zone sucks badly as a new character and it gets easier after you finally get your action skill and get out of the zone.

Trust me, every class at that point has problems fighting enemies one level above them at times. You should play defensively with Deathtrap once you get him and let him tank while you fire at the people.

Also, I'm on the PS3 currently on PT1 as a level 22 Gunzerker. How close am I to the end? I forgot because I keep doing sidequests and if it helps, I'm on chapter 11. EDIT: I forgot to say my online ID is thilk09. :derp: And a fair warning: I'm deaf.

Gonna call bullshit on class based difficulty there. I didn't find it any easier or harder when I fiddled around with other characters.

Level 12 Mechromancer with the newspaper cap, oh god I am so in love with this GAME. Anarchy FROM THE GET GO.

i know left tree is supposed to be the first fps tree but honestly anarchy seems so strong and requires almost no thought

and then  you can just go get close enough from the left tree anyway because it's tier one

Do Hyperion guns do anything to nullify the hilarious inaccuracy an Anarchy-happy Mechromancer suffers?

Having a job again has given me the financial cushion to purchase the game. Having 2.5 hours of commuting time per day plus 2 friends who flaked out and are waiting for it go on sale plus one who has already beaten the game to death and back in addition to my Skyrim addiction has put the whole experience on hold.

At first, yes, but when you start to get higher and higher and higher stacks, then even hyperion guns have massive issues dealing with Anarchy's -1.75% gun accuracy per stack. In fact, nothing really helps with 100+ stacks of Anarchy other than Close Enough from BFF which is ironically a tier 1 talent.

Also, for some retarded reason, the other talent at tier 1 that reduces magazine size makes 1 shot weapons impossible to use due to having no magazine size to use at all.

Unfortunately, I didn't preorder nor get season pass so I'm stuck at a standstill right now.

I still have a good orange sniper rifle from shooting up the final boss so many times, but I'm commando, not assassin. It's pretty good though, 5 shots a bullet * 180% critical damage.

For those with iOS devices, Borderlands Legends arrives on the 31st (US$4.99; $6.99 iPad and maybe HD versions). Basically a top-down spinoff involving the first game's team and randomized missions.

Placing it here due to relevancy.

Amp shields + close enough + large enough amounts of anarchy stacks + blood soaked shields = I am always toeing the line between life and death. Always. Especially with this blue tediore shotgun.

Anyways, I forgot to ask: Does it use the Shift online display name or just PS3 online name for multiplayer?

Bumping this up because Assault on Dragon Keep is pretty much the best thing oh god oh man oh daaaaaamn.

Everything about it is wonderful.  It's loaded with absolutely goddamn brilliance and the enemies don't suck (with the exception of the skeleton mages, those things are ridiculous >:()

Seriously, get Assault on Dragon Keep even if you get nothing else for this game.  It's unbelievably spectacular.

My brother got it and played through the questline in one night.

The ending was hilarious.

Also, Kreig is apparently stupid OP with Mania maxed out. He's basically immortal, since every time he hits 33% HP he can use his active skill, and charges to full HP, and then restores to full HP again with every kill. Then, when it wears off, IT REFRESHES SO HE CAN DO IT ADINFINITM AT 33% HP. If he SOMEHOW goes into F4YL, he instead goes into LIGHT THE FUSE, and throws huge damage explosives everywhere while running around at high speed....

Also my bro has a 0 power shield that gives 20% bonus HP, so he always gets all those 'Shield down' bonuses. He's only low 4's but hitting like 200+k with his action skill, and 6~7 hits bosses... as well as soloing the new DLC raid boss.

I'm not a cheapskate who plays easymode, so I'm gonna play Kreig with the 'SET YOURSELF ON FIRE' build.

Hellborn Krieg doesn't really take off until you hit mid-20s, sadly.  It's a lot harder early on than Mania, for sure.

That said once you can fill out that tree, Hellborn is supremely awesome.  Flame of the Firehawk is your friend.
