The inevitable finally happened, THQ is broke.

THQ, the publisher of games like the Saints Row series, the Red Faction series, the Company of Heroes series, and WWE's line of wrestling games has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

Everyone was expecting this to happen anyway, though much, much sooner.

And the funny thing is the THQ pack is the only one being sold at a discount.  For $25, you can get the THQ bundle.  Darksiders II alone is being sold at $20, and the Company of Heroes bundle is priced at $25.

Man, this is a shame, because THQ was one of the few publishers I had actually liked, if only because they were good about avoiding asshole moves like excessive DRM and from what I could tell they treated their studios somewhat decently.

Wonder what this means for the future of their franchises; I imagine there's quite a few lucrative licenses people would want to get their hands on.

Oh no! :<

All of a sudden the recent slew of sales makes sense. Though I really wonder about what will happen to all the licences they own....

Here's hoping their IPs get picked up by awesome developers. I have no love or hate for THQ either way, but it would be a damn shame to see those projects fade into the abyss.
Let's Play: BIT.TRIP FLUX | Let's Play: Malicious | Skyward Sword: Shieldless Final Boss | Skyward Sword: Boss Rush! | Ace Combat Infinity: Campaign in the X-02 Wyvern

Move eternally forward,
So that we may always be at your side.

Broken publishers shouldgive their IPs to the dev teams of each franchise. Nobody wants to continue more a franchise than the people who make it.

Yes Sierra, I'm looking at you. Jerks.

They're not that broke, read the article. They haven't even made redundancies yet.  They're wanting to be brought up as a going concern.
The games aren't the problem for them, every comment I've heard from industry people has said one thing, uDraw.
