Definitely Seija. A lot of the other Touhou villains turned out to be pretty good in the end. Seija seems to be one of the most malicious characters.

I take back everything I said about Sukuna, cause I now really feel sorry for her.

All she ever wanted was to be loved, but she always got picked on. So she took her revenge against the world, even as far as to make objects youkai (I'll use the mallet on a Pizza one day, that's for sure).

But still, she's probably around Wakasagihime on my feelings about them.

Wakasagihime is ADORABLE.
Kagerou...well...who didn't think her stage was fun as heck? All them wolf calls.
Seija is awesome, plus, as someone said, stage 5 shenanigans.
But then Sukuna is also ADORABLES.

She is just so adorable, and for some reason, I want to cosplay her reaaaally badly.

Maybe cause' Sukuna sounds cuter(and smaller) than Shinmyoumaru? Somehow I think it has something to do with Shameimaru  :V

In terms of relevance I believe Seija is the most appropriate DDC. To me she even feels like the titular character. *Redundant redundancy

Isn't she the one closest to being a backstabber?

My Personal Rankings:

1st - Raiko. Those drums! That fashion sense! That thunder! That Theme! EVERYTHING! Everything but the Extra Stage Midbosses, god I hated those bitches...
2nd - Benben. I love her character design, and being a hobbyist but devoted musician, I have to say, HER NONSPELLS ARE SO EPIC! Those notes forming on the staff is a perfect idea! Her theme too!
3rd - Kagerou. Fave character from the demo, love at first sight and nonspells are cool too. Her stage theme is soooo good!
4th - Seija. To be really honest, I hated this girl when I first saw her, until I saw her spellcards, then BOOM! I loved her! That Dress is epic too, and her theme.
5th - Yatsuhashi. Recliner-san is such a cool character, but her nonspells are a bit... ugh.
6th - Wakasagihime.  All I can really say is that she looks pretty lol
7th - Sekibanki. I still love this character, but I feel that she, along with Seija, is a bit overrated. My opinion though!
8th - Sukuna. Love this character, but compared to the other final bosses, she wasn't incredibly fun or epic and Final Boss-ish. I still love her though! (Attack on Kobito is Perfect!)
⑨th - Cirno. No other character was more fitting for this position. Need I say more?

I've loved the colors black, white and red for a very long time. When I saw Seija, I was sold literally. Also the arrows in her dress are just so epic and I love her name and it's meaning. Kagerou, Shinmyoumaru and Kagerou, as well as Wakasagihime are also nice characters. Didn't really like the Tsukumo sisters. I'm pretty neutral with Sekibanki and Raiko. But Seija. She's my DDC waifu.

Raiko, for reasons I'm not quite sure. I just dig her drum set!

Seija has a runner-up for "best ragequit mechanic" because dammit I hated that screen flip. It was like "okay, ZUN is now just *trying* to troll"

Sukuna would have to be next, except I will hate every time I have to call her by her first name. Let's group her with Mamizou Futatsuiwa and Shikieiki Yamaxanadu as the people with the overly long names.
