Liked season one so I'll watch this and literally everything else airing during mid-semester break. That OP is super great, but the first one left big shoes to fill so I was expecting such a thing!

yeah
beautiful

I didn't like this anime very much last year or whenever, but I think it's a lot better this season. I don't think there'll be any significant character development but the gags and parodies are hilarious.

Also: this thing. Too cute.

If we're talking Nyaruko-san's idea of character development, I think I'll pass. The boilerplate romance stuff made me drop the first season (that and timing constraints.)

Yeah, character devlopment really isn't nyarlko's strong point.  Last season proved that pretty well.

If they keep to the gags and the comic violence, I will be so okay with that.

So today I logged into the Japanese Google Play store on my phone and look! In the front page, the Nyaruko novels.

REFERENCE TIME!!! [Episode 2]

-When Mahiro picked up a book named "The Diety's Memo Pad", it was referring to a JLN, "Heaven's Memo Pad"
-When Kuuko said "Our troubles are always Darkness", which was actually a pun(cause of how 'To-Love-Ru' and 'Trouble' are pronounced in Nihongo - toraburu) referring to the manga/anime "To-Love Ru Darkness"
-And...obviously more Kamen Rider references

Reference list for episode 2

Most prominent references for me were the duel masters card rarities and toshokan sensou portions as stated directly in the episode title.

Dunno what the fuck TRUE KING IN YELLOW was a reference to... but damn it is awesome.

Also, goddamn it it requires a Ganbaride move to activate Hasuta...

True King in Yellow would be a reference to Hastur, I think, and the play that inspired Hastur.

Hastur is an Old One in Lovecraftian mythos.  The King In Yellow is a play written by Hastur (that is also Hastur himself, and about himself) that, when performed, drives the players and the audience mad.  Hastur is also known for wearing a mask.

Have to say, this new ED (already!?) is just REDALiCE-y to the MAXX!
Didn't think the day that almost-pure, unadulterated J-core appearing in anime would come so soon.

How they thought the last third of the ED animation was a good idea is beyond me though... ???

So is Hastur the Hastur only when he transforms? He did say that it wasn't really him and stuff.

ah, cause I don't think I read King in Yellow before, probably one of the few Lovecraft stories I haven't read. He did assume a third person personality when he changed,
