Yeah, that's not the same as invulnerability and in series like Touhou or Cave-titles you get pretty much all resources no matter how well you play. What I meant is, take for example DoDonPachi. When you are simply playing for survival you use all your resources to achieve victory. Then when you want to start playing for score, you'll need to drastically rise the difficulty of the levels through advanced techniques and hypers boosting the rank and maintaining that high rank. In short, the game becomes even harder for those who play it the best.

In CoD's multiplayer, the more you pwn the opposition, the less you have to actually play the game. Kill enough guys through skill, kill 10x the guys by effortlessly killing people by using a chopper gunner. From the oppositions point of view, once the enemy has started to win and get the overpowered killstreak awards, its a lost cause. You can't really keep up with the chopper gunner in terms of kills for example.

Case in point: dogs in Black Ops (WaW's dogs were easier in that you could actually survive them if you positioned yourself right). You call them in, you get 10 free kills or more with literally no effort. They're extremely hard to shoot, spawn all over the map, and one-shot you the moment they attack. You don't even get to struggle with them like in CoD4's campaign, you just drop dead and your name appears in the kill feed. The worst part, though, is that if by some miracle you happen to kill one of them, 3 more suddenly appear and try to kill you. At least MW2's nuke had the decency to end the game when activated. These little fuck get to murder you over and over again for like a minute, and you can't do a damn thing about it.
