So as I'm sure most of us are aware, Japan doesn't think too highly (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=2932.0) of our mass sprite rip abuse (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=197.0). Unfortunately, as MCXD has so thoughtfully pointed out (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php?topic=2932.msg121963#msg121963), not all of us are capable of creating every aspect of a game to the average person's standards. Some people have trouble with coding certain sections, others are unable to make sprites and bullet graphics or need help with many other things that they just can't complete in a timely manner.

Thus, I present to you the following:

Danmakufu Request Thread



This thread is for posting about things you would like to have somebody else do for you, or similar requests. Your reasons can vary, from incapability to pure laziness, so feel free to post about stuff you just can't accomplish on your own. This can include anything from coding to sprites to sounds. Some general guidelines to consider:








All that said, I'm not gonna try and lie about my true intentions for creating this thread: I have a request. Well, two requests. I am absolute ass at creating sprites, and just recently it's become very obvious as we've always known, abusing other people's sprites is frowned upon... So I'm looking for somebody who can throw together some boss sprites for the following characters:


And that's it for now. The sprites should have a stationary sprite, as well as two more sprites for left and right movements (I don't care much about animations during the movements, so don't worry about that). I'm in absolutely no hurry to get these (mostly because I'm prepared to release a second version of scripts with these characters featuring the updated sprites, should I need to), so don't feel that I'm gonna be on your ass everyday, or at all really. This request is mostly just for a "I don't want the crew of CtC to bitch at me for abusing their lovely sprites" feeling.







Now, on to my more important request:

I'm doing a secret-secret hush-hush project that is in need of some spriting as well. I'll be needing anywhere from 3 to ~12 sprites (all one character), depending on how much effort you feel like throwing in to the project. There may be an additional ~5 sprites needed as well, depending on whether or not you'd like to continue working with me. As mentioned, the project is on the down-low for now, so I won't be mentioning the scope of the project or what character it's for in this post. If you're interested and willing to dedicate yourself to a few hours of spriting, please toss me a PM mentioning you're up to the task. I have all the guidelines figured out so if you don't feel like enforcing your own creative license on the project I can give you directions on exactly what I'm looking for. This project is intended to be completed soon, so I'm in a bit more of a hurry than the other spriting task I mentioned earlier, but it's by no means "if you don't finish this soon I will hunt you down". Gotta take it easy. If you have any other questions regarding this project, feel free to mention so in the PM, since I won't be talking about this outside of this post. Oh! Private conversations on IRC are acceptable as well, if you'd rather. #danmakufu @ irc.ppirc.net is my usual place.

Oh yeah, and uh, I'll probably be spearheading this thread as long as you don't have any spriting requests, so don't feel like you're just gonna be ignored if you post here.

This specific thing is not a request per se, but I think the community should try to dedicate time to remaking all the touhou rips.
What I mean by this is to imitate the sprites, but not pixel by pixal. Most people have noticed by now that Zun's sprites are usually blurry. My idea, however, is using the same sprites, but making pixel-art versions of them created by fans which would look much more similar to a CtC sprite than one from Zun, but still be like it was from a rip. Maybe people will frown upon this due to how similar the sprites are, but it doesn't go against the book and I'm sure Zun won't mind as long as we try our best to create new things as well.

Ooh, this thread is a great idea. Spriter here, reporting for duty!

...though, I'm kinda in the middle of my own project atm. Plus, I tend to work rather slowly and get distracted easily. So don't expect anything timely from me. But if I'm bored, I might try my hand at one or two of these.

Incidentally, anyone willing to help out with a Nazrin player-type would be appreciated. =)

Edit:
To be clear, it's mostly spriting stuff I'm looking for help with. I've got the most of the basics drawn (if only in my head) already, and the more complex stuff like bombs, I haven't quite gotten around to figuring out what I need. So... yeah. Just ignore this part for now.

Good idea. With this, it would be great if there would be sprites for the popular fan-characters, too, in the same style. Like Meimu, Sasha, Mitori (re-drawn, so those on nico won't go nuts), that purple haired bee-girl with some relation to Patchy (I don't remember her name), Cirno-nee, and others.

Ooooooooooo, request for things! Okay, here's a list of things I need that I can't do myself for Ikareimu organized by priority.

High priority:
  - Red and blue Reimu player sprites.
    * Needs stationary, going-left, and going-right pose
    * Needs red and blue amulets for shots (Steal from shot_all.png? Will people notice?)
    * Needs glowy red and blue orbs with which to construct curvy homing lasers. (....shot_all.png? lol)

Mid priority:
 - Boss sprites (PM me for more details)
 - Red and blue enemy sprites (Red/blue themed fairies, FOEs, magic circles, etc.)
 - Ikaruga system graphics (laser charge bar, chain counter)
 - Custom Danmakufu frame.

Low priority:
 - Cut-ins
 - Textures for effects/backgrounds
 - Music
 - Sound effects
 - Anything else that isn't really needed for a functional Ikaruga-ish game.

Yeah, that's a lot of stuff, but really you can ignore the low priority list. So, anyone willing to help?

EDIT: Currently, I'm using a Reimu player sprite that came with the CtC demo script which was edited to make a blue version as well. I'm using stuff from shot_all.png for her bullets as well, which is probably fine.

EDIT2: Crossed off stuff I ended up being able to make on my own when I really tried hard enough.

also, i was looking at the whole sprite sheet and i noticed that there are 5 lines of the same sprite. There are awsome and all, but why so many? and if im not trying to offend you in any, way, shape, or form.

You can just edit it so that you have just one line, I was just being dumb. I forgot, that you can just a variable and make it so that the boss looks like he's floating up and down. Sorry about it.

its worked for me, the first time..then it crashed, when i started Danmakufu again, it worked, i think it crashes because its having trouble overwritting the second time, or i do not know...

Ah, I know! I'll make it so that the bullets auto-delete if it's on top of you. (How big is the hitbox for a ___01 bullet, anyways?)

Awesome, may want to increase the radius of the shots deleted so you can actually move just a little bit.

Here are some major annoying things in this spellcard , mainly 2

1. The annoying pause right before it spreads out.
2. If you just hold rihgt/left in a direction, you can clear out TONS of bullets making this a VERY easy card.

Not very good, just the stationary sprites done. Arg the editing is so painful.
I think I have to switch to Elly-like sprites, you know?
I can't make someone do the same thing with a sword and cleaver... you know...

sorry for bumping a somewhat old thread...

a friend of mine made me make this spell card and is asking me to make a video of it... problem is, I can't beat it without continuing at least once... can someone upload a video of this somewhere? (yes, he requested that amount of life and low damage rate... he says it's supposed to be ultra-mode difficulty which is lunaticx2 for him... just hope that ultra-mode isn't harder than lunautic... :V)

Yeah, you can simply use laser objects for player scripts, you just have to use the additional player shot functions ObjShot_SetDamage(obj, 1); and ObjShot_SetPenetration(obj, 10000);

Requesting a player sprite of Bang Shishigami (http://www.creativeuncut.com/gallery-11/art/bb-bang-shishigami.jpg). Yes, really. It'd be nice if he has a normal, left, and right pose, but I'll take what I can get. Animation of his scarf fluttering is a plus too. Note that there is a giant nail on his back.

EDIT: Here's a picture of his back (http://www.fightersgeneration.com/np/char/bang3.jpg) that I found randomly if it helps with the sprite creation (since it IS supposed to be a player sprite, not a boss sprite).

EDIT2: Another request for the Bang player: custom shot image. I need a nail with a golden ribbon attached to it. Here's an example (http://ps3.nowgamer.com/static/images/reviews/8610/M_12188_blazblue-nail.jpg) except this one has a purple ribbon. Again, animation would be nice, but isn't necessary.

EDIT3: And last one, I swear! I can't find good screenshots of these, but there's these symbols that light up when you hit an opponent with a special move. This one image that I linked earlier (http://ps3.nowgamer.com/static/images/reviews/8610/M_12188_blazblue-nail.jpg) has them not lit up and you can see them at the bottom left just above the bottom bar. I think it'd make sense to make a request thread for spriting in the art section. theres some brilliant artists in there who are very quick at what they do, with really good skill. (doing what they call speed drawings that are better than I can do over several hours... gits)

Shottype: "Wand of Destruction"
Aside from the regular forward shots that make up about 1/3 of this shottypes dps, a laser of 50~100 pixel in length is permanently attached to Flandre. Your movement moves the laser clockwise or counterclockwise, depending on which direction you move. From several spots on the laser, bullets are fired. In focus mode, the shots are directed upwards. When unfocused, they are directed in a 90? and -90? angle from the laser.

Unfocused Bomb: "Counter Clock"
Wheels of four lasers each are fired in a circular pattern.

Focused Bomb: "Lavatein or how the hell else that one is spelled"
Flandre swings a huge laser 360? around her in fluid motion, starting from a 90? position.


I'd code that if I had any visuals and soundeffects, no problem.

I am tempted to screenshot the Resurrection of Heaven's Liquor sprites for Flandre now. But I won't, because I'm lazy and not a sadist.

Anyway, I have been thrown into a CAVE mood (uploading CAVE music like no tomorrow, did you know IRON ATTACK made a CAVE album? I didn't). I want/wish two things, one that's simple enough but I can't really do due to limitations on my time and patience, and one that I simply can't do and don't really expect anyone to do but hey it's out there.

The first would be making a spritesheet + Danmakufu animation out of this .gif (http://i31.tinypic.com/66l0rd.jpg) including all that 'SetGraphicRect();' stuff, because I tried this and Hibachi started twitching and all other sorts of fail.

The second would be to make a CAVE shotsheet. It's absurd, but it would be some sort of awesome if it was pulled off~

I need someone to make PLAYER sprites for my game's character (you'll get credit of course :V)

She looks a bit... gay, even for a girl, doesn't she? :V (my friend made her)

Stuff I need (just... as much of them as possible... don't need all of them it can't be done, I realize it's a lot...):
-Her moving normally
-Her moving left
-Her moving right
-A note bullet (like prismriver bullets) any shape, any color, I don't mind...
-Frog options
-A tongue-shaped bullet (to be turned into a laser)
-Sprites of goo/saliva splatter (just a greenish blob would work actually...)
-A yellow ring (slightly thick, but the hole should still be big enough to fit the frog option)
-A sparkle animation (to put on the rings for extra garnish)
-A green crystal-shaped bullet
-A shattering animation (when the crystals hit the enemies... just one crystal fragment would also work actually...)
-A blue arrow bullet
- A cross effect (goes out like the bomb explosion of UFO sanae, only it's a cross instead of a ring, best be color blue/electric blue)
- A white ring (like the explosion... so it fades inward)
- Another white ring (that fades outward this time)
- A bright yellow ball
- A long fine line that gradients from red to yellow to red, etc

basically... you start with declaring that it's a shot replace script and the image you're using for it

edit: i accidentally saved it as a jpeg and it screwed the entire sheet up beyond salvaging

If you're using one shot data file, you should have all the bullets in one image. PNG is the preferred image format for DMF.

I can't make sprites either, sorry.

Ask Danielu about it. He wanted to make a Pokemon boss once, so I guess he knows how to make authentic.

Actually I'm only here to request a full shot-sheet (Touhou styled) and item graphics for my STG engine.

Shots :
Since my engine's resolution is 1.25 times Danmakufu's, every bullet should also be scaled accordingly. I also need at least 1 empty pixel between every bullet. If you are interested in doing it, tell me by PM and I'll send you the details.

16x16 (01 shots) become 20x20 -1x1 (empty pixel, to fit a grid) = 19x19
32x32 (02 shots) -> 40x40 - 1x1 = 39x39
etc.

Items :
For this I need some small and some large items

Large items: 25x25 to 35x35

This video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j1rc242HOMU) inspired me to try getting a random Touhou stage and making everything (but you and your shots, obviously) reversed in relation to how they are on the games. So yeah, starting a stage by its boss which will catch all bullets some entity from offscreen will shoot at them, then progressing as the stage gets easier and all fairies and thins like that eat bullets that come at them.

...But then I realized I can't use Danmakufu so maybe I should just tell you guys this weird idea.

create a circle outside the boundaries of the playing field and compute the position where all those bullets would converge and make sure the boss is at that position at the exact time the bullets converge...

that's just for one circle... imagine those extremely complicated patterns that require a lot of boss movement...

Hi.

I'm making a DNH game, and just for the record, Normal Mode is about halfway done, music, stages, and all. Unfortunately, I'm absolutely impaired in sprite making, for both bosses and (especially) players. The sprites don't have to look like Touhou replicas, but the same dimensions should be used. I'd like them arranged them one-next-to-the-other in 64x64 "cells", but that shouldn't be unreasonable. The main obstacle is this: I didn't design most of the characters. The ones I did can use Tektek, create.swf, absurdly detailed verbal descriptions, or all three -- and some of them are male (LE GASP). The other characters, however, were described in every way from scant verbal descriptions to pictures off the interwebz to both. So, if you're taking the job, you should be able to accept... subpar definitions of bosses, and be able to tweak some pictures a bit with your imagination (just enough to avoid copyright infringement; IDK about the status of those pics).

Good news is that I don't really need animations, just three movement directions and some special animations for certain bosses. So yeah. Done now. If you need more details... you'll have to post here, since this was my first post and I don't think I can make ten more in a reasonable amount of time.

(That said, if the one who accepts has other requests, they can feel free to finish those first, since I have a ton of sprites I need made...)

Okay, I have image of the boss, It should fit into the default EX Rumia set of images if a sheet IS made. I will however settle for a single sprite.

Not a problem.

Also, that Utsuho script isn't quite what I'm looking for. Most of it's good (especially the bombs), but the regular shots are, well, underwhelming. I'm looking for something... flashier. More shots, maybe a small spread like Reimu has in addition to her homing shots (such as what she gets in EoSD), some lasers, a bit wider range, that sort of thing. Something a bit more appropriate for Utsuho then the bland, basic shots this script has. I would assume the shots in the existing script can just be replaced, and the rest of the script is just fine, so I'm only asking for the shots to be changed. Also, Id say don't worry if she's a bit overpowered; that can be dealt with once the shots are good.

Anyways, that's what I'm after for Utsuho. Is that something I could ask someone here to do?

Well, lately I have been trying to code a Player, but it always ends up with the player not showing
even if in the previous try it did, and not shooting or being inmortal.

I'll request one player , mainly I'm asking for the code,
graphics and all will be provided by me:

Player Characteristics:

Speed = 3 Non-Focused, 2 Focused.

Unfocused Shot:
The Two Options are at the sides of the player, shooting right to the front of the player, whenever
an enemy gets within a 45? range, the Options bullets will follow the enemy. The Main
shoot is a 4 way shot, beign two shots forward and the other ones being angled.
(between 40? and 20? would be fine).

Focused Shot:
The Two Option Align in front of the player, losing it's homing capabilities but gaining a 5% more
power, the Main Shot also becomes much narrower too.

SpellCard (Holy Sign "Cleansing Rain"):
The BG Overlaps with the Current Stage BG, damaging all enemies for a short amount of time
(2-4 seconds), like SanaeA Bomb in UFO.

[Optional] Last Spell (Holy Sign "40 Days Deluge"):
Does More Damage and last 1.5 more times than the regular bomb.

Anyway, I need help. I need to learn more coding, but I kinda want to have a player script to use to get an idea of how I need to go about making new Danmakufu scripts.
And forget the usual "My characters are made of flesh" conventions. When I think lots of bullets, I think mecha. And, that's kind of what I'm trying to make. Just one problem...

I can't sprite or code as proficiently as  I need to.
What I CAN do is:

Make concept sketches and draw out detail by detail each shot, focus shot,, bomb, ETC.
It dosen't even have to be animated, really, and the shots don't have to be cleaned up, but I do want the player to look somewhat good.
If said game ever gets designed, I'll be sure to give credit (If you want it or not.)

Please, if you do feel like doing this, contact me over the board. I'll be available on weekends, Fridays, and after a week or so almost every day for awhile.
There will be six characters, at the moment I only need the one, later possibly a few more, I'll try to code my own soon enough however.
One only slightly related question... How do I make an enemy take up about... say... half te screen? I know it sounds weird for Touhou, but I need one to take up about two fifths of the entire screen on the enemy side. That... means sprites. Fortunately, it can be cut off at a certian point. Inthe mean-time, though, I'm not worring about those.

@Tsuchigumo: There's no limit to an enemy's size. :/ Just make the graphic rectangle and/or hitbox(es) really, really big. The screen is 384x448, in case you were wondering. PM me with specifics for the player(s)/sprites if you read this.

Hey people, hope everythings good! Im kinda in the need for a sprite for one of my bosses. (I cant sprite for my life...) Basically, if you look at my icon, you'll get idea of what im asking for.  Black Hat, Black robe, but ignore the purple things (mis-colored), and black umbrella (optional, since i rarly make him pull it out...) If someone could do me a favor and make me this sprite, id be very grateful! Thanks!

EDIT: Also ignore the grey rim around the hat...another mis-colorization. Sorry...and if your curious, the gray on his face is the shadow of the hat...woops. xD

Do you mean the circle graphic? If you need to make it grow and shrink you could use a sine function inside SetGraphicRect, assuming that you know some trigonometry.

I want a rectangular effect object that kills the player if it's on the are it's drawn. I don't want to make a Objetc bullet 'cuz I won't be able to use the Graphic I'm making for it...

where,
x1,y1 are the x and y coordinates of the start of your box (center start point)
x2,y2 are the x and y coordinates of the end of your box (center end point)
w is the width of your box

used SetCollisionB instead of ShootDownPlayer to allow the 'I' invincibility thing to still work...

Note: This also works for rotated boxes...

I would like to request a System like this:

At the start of the Script, the System has a CommonData Named "Rank" with a Value of 0. With Each Spellcard Captured (13 in total), The Value goes up by one, up to a limit of 13.

Now, drawing a Star-like meter on the left bottom corner of the Screen that fills up according to the current Value in the CommonData "Rank" (Like Ten Desires Bomb/Life Counter)

That should do it. If It isn't clear enough, PM me for more details.

Unless you have no way to practice the pattern (which I guess might be valid for Aki's final), the main reason you replicate danmaku patterns is to exercise your scripting skill. Is there any actual reason you want them to be replicated?

All it takes is a creative and analytical mind really. Also a sharp eye.
Assess what is going on, and break things down.

Possessed by Phoenix is a survival card that is split into 4 stages.
In the first stage the magic circles spawn on the left and right sides of the player's position, and if either the left or right side would be spawning off screen, then the position is adjusted so that both circles stay on the screen. It appears that one layer of the bullets spawn in a cross shape, and the 2nd layer also in a cross shape, but revolves slowly.
In the 2nd stage, the magic circles spawn continuously. Arrow head bullets are shot from the circles directly at the player, and the angle between the circle and the player + 72 degrees (and so on). Each shot consists of 4 layers, the first being the fastest and the last being the slowest.
In the 3rd stage, the magic circles spawn slowly at first, and then speed up. Bubble bullets are shot in the 8 directions which then split into 4 medium sized bullets in random directions which then split immediately into 3 small bullets which then split into 2 tiny bullets.
The last stage seems similar to the 3rd stage except that every other magic circle spawns purple circle bullets in 8 directions, with one of them aimed at the player.

Heaven's Dragon: Source of Rain seems alot easier
The screen seems to be split into about 11 parts, with every other occupied by the blue energy bullets. The bullets are then shot down from above, probably with a random x value within the space that they are allowed to be in, and then decelerate. The energy bullets in the middle columns turn into rice bullets upon slowing down, and are aimed straight at the player. The ones on the far left and right spawn energy bullets at a faster rate, and turn into those arrow bullets that then rotate.

That Mushihimesama one seems ridiculous but is probably even easier to program that the above two.
However, there's so much stuff going on I can't tell. I'm assuming that the ring of bullets in the beginning shoot those different bullets at a constant rate at the same angle. The ring of bullets then shrinks, expands, moves, and etc., changing the flow of the bullets.

On a different note, you should never underestimate yourself. If you tell yourself that you cant do it, then you wont be able to. Don't think too hard.
When in trouble: Assess the situation, break down the problem, analyze the possible solutions, formulate a plan, and then boldly follow through with it.
It's ok to skip a few steps though~
Now I did a bit of the thinking for you. Now all you need is a bit of creative programming.

yes i want them for my boss battle. Where you face Yuyuko, Flandre, Moukou, and then the last one, the none touhou card. Is for the end.

Excel: You can just go find a VoWG script and just replace the bullet graphics with arrows.
For Resurrection Butterfly, just get puremrz's shotsheet and replace the CtCshot with it. Then go find a Resurrection Butterfly script and edit it to include the puremrz shotsheet, and edit the bullet graphics used in the script.

You can modify yourself with a replacement of the Juuni Jumon shot sheet.

Not really a request, but since I am somewhat busy and out of ideas (and lazy, but mostly out of ideas) to finish a script, I'll share this with you, guys.
It contains a recolor of the old Elly sprite from the PC-98 game and her cutin (from the end-screen of the game), coloured "by hand" by me. It was my first time colouring something in PS, so don't bash me so hard >_<.

Quick note @Walker...

One set of the "moving" sprites is just the sprite flipped horizontally, which makes it look like Elly is able to switch hands holding the scythe and whatnot instantly. Perhaps you can also edit the scythe there?

ZUN has been reusing the Reimu and Marisa sprites from PoFV. The Sakuya sprite from the same game should fit what you're looking for perfectly.

It's not exactly rude, but you're asking a bit much for a "request".  This thread is more for miscellaneous sprites, pictures, and other things for you to throw into a script, rather than entire scripts.  I'd suggest you visit the information thread for tutorials on how to get started on Danmakufu.  It may seem intimidating, but you just have to keep plugging away until you get the hang of it.  If you want someone to help out with your scripts, you could try showing us "prototypes" that you make, or at the very least an illustration and description of what you want the patterns to be like, so we have something to work with.  Simply telling us what you want the "themes" to be is like having us do all the work for you.

That won't be good though. You won't get far with copy/pasting or value changing. Sure, as beginner to experiment/fool around it might work but if you intend to make your own scripts you cannot rely on others constantly. You'll really have to go read the tutorials, either the video tutorials or the written ones.

If you want to make your own scripts, You might at first at least try. But, if it's too difficult for you, try taking it to the Q/A thread. But, if you still can't do it, read the tutorials, watch the video tutorials, or just simply look at functions you need at the Danmakufu Wiki.

I guess I can make something neat with just CreateShot01 and CreateLaser01...

Hmm, I'm afraid I can't help you there. The PC-98 games are so old that finding those sprites is going to be rather difficult. I have no idea where to start looking. The cut in images shouldn't be too hard to find though.

Now I have a couple of requests of my own:

You may have heard of or even played my WIP Touhou-Mario crossover game Kingdom of Mushrooms. If so, then you have probably noticed that my stage 2 and 3 backgrounds are just boring static images. Is anyone capable and willing to make a simple scrolling 3D background for those stages?

Stage 2 is just underwater, so anything that looks like it's underwater will be fine (it doesn't have to look like it's from the Mushroom Kingdom, for example). Stage 3 is supposed to be Yoshi's Island, so that one will probably be more tricky. Again, it doesn't have to look definitively like it's Yoshi's Island, just similar enough to be plausible. I really appreciate any help I can get!

Depends on what kind of bomb you want. From the DS rips, you can get the camera photo, so I think it would definitely be possible, although I can't do it because I don't know enough about effect objects to make the flash of light (I don't know if that's a separate image)

I need a bomb for my Hatate player that involves her Camera... Could anyone make it?

ph3 or 0.12m? If it's ph3 you can use my camera from my Aya player (http://www.mediafire.com/?7dlpy48z5arabzv) and modify it for Hatate (deals damage already, but I'm unsure if its spell or bullet damage), or I can modify it for you so its more cleaned up and more like a bomb. If it's 0.12m it should still be relevant, as you can just change the function names to the 0.12m equivalent.

Menu text is stored in the form of images.

If you mean text like in the replay list, then the fonts are stored in ascii.anm. You would find the letter's vertices to find the section of the image you want to use.

Not sure about the others, but just don't look at CtC's menu and expect anything to make sense.

A basic menu is just a very simple logical flow. You have a "selected item", and when you press up or down the selection will increase or decrease according to respective menu items. If you hit OK when the selection is on X then you've activated the menu item X. You might be presented with maybe another menu or perhaps some code will execute, and if you hit Cancel you go back a menu. Drawing the menu is just a matter of being semi-knowledgeable about organizing your drawing, being able to make one menu item stand out when it's selected, and removing and adding new menu items when you change which menu you're on.

Anyway, I have music requests, if anyone is able to help me.

They are as follows:
1) Green Sanatorium remix (made to be less mysterious and more stage-ish).
2) Barrier of Ame-no-Torifune Shrine remix (faster, and boss battle-ish).

I realize that both original tracks are on the list of non-redistributable ZUN music tracks, and that is why I have the issue with using them.
I need them in .wav format because my computer can't run .mp3 files on Danmakufu yet.

Firstly, the statement was because of MotK's policy. As for your question, you need to create tasks for each menu and use object effects for each button/item. You also need to make functions for the menu select (up, dpwn, escape, etc.).

I just derived this from The Last Comer, and they have a LOT of ObjEffect_SetVertexXY, ObjEffect_Set Layer, ObjEffect_SetVertexUV, Common Data, ObjEffect_SetVertexColor, etc. Also, a LOT of arrays and about 600 variables for the menus alone.

I've attached the Difficulty Select Menu 3 below. If you can understand any of it, then you should be able to make a menu. But seriously, with your white space, lining up issues, and unfamiliarity with objects, I would tell you to master object effects before you even attempt to make a proper menu.

And yes, take a look at the Tutorial that was just posted.

Not to stomp on Won☆Life, but the tutorial doesn't really offer a good explanation of how menus are structured or why anything works, and only offers a very simple menu done in DrawLoop, using a method I honestly wouldn't encourage. I was going to link it but decided that explaining exactly how they're structured and what steps to take is more useful, and more than that, if you can't understand how to implement those steps, you probably aren't in a good position to start creating menus in the first place.

Depends on what you mean.

SetInitialBombCount(#) will restock bombs. If you want to restore all bombs after a certain amount of time, have a counter global that goes up, and when it hits x value, bombs restock. If you want to put this in a task, begin running it in Initialize. However, if deathbombing messes this up or something, youll have to incorporate check code into your Missed Loop.

P.S. I learned this when one of my player scripts was magically restocking bombs after death bombing, and I almost beat Phantasm Romance this way. I think I managed to pull off about 20 death bombs in that one run.

Hello, newbie danmakufu game maker here. I don't have a question with programming (yet, plus it would be the wrong thread anyway), but I do have a couple important requests.

But first, what I have so far. I have the story and dialogue all fleshed out, all original characters conceptualized, all playable characters and abilities selected, an assistant programmer, a music maker, and Danmakufu itself so I can test my creations.

Now for what I need. I need art and sprites. Neither of which I can accomplish due to lack of talent/expertise in these fields. That's where my requests come in.

Request #1: I need an artist to draw character portraits and backgrounds. I would myself, but it would take me hours and lots of frustration for just one portrait, neither of which I will tolerate. I know drawings can take a while, but I literally almost can't draw. However, if you can do one but not the other, that's fine.

Request #2: I need a spriter to make said characters into usable pictures (you know what I mean). Some will be easier and can already be done, but others will have to wait until I get the character portrait.

If anyone is interested, I would appreciate a PM, and some examples of previous works to see your amount of skill. Nothing against you or your work, I just want to know the quality of the work I will be receiving if I were to choose you. Thanks in advance!

P.S. He's basically asking for someone to do a gravity bullet that starts off normal but turns into a gravity bullet after it hits the ceiling..

If you need official art, go to RaNGE=>Touhou Projects and find Drake's Projects. He has all of the official game image rips, I think.

From what I understand, it goes against ZUN's guidelines to distribute any work that contains material ripped from the games. However, ZUN isn't exactly going to sue you and most people in the Western Touhou community won't really care. However, if you do plan on releasing such a project in the Japanese community, there is a good chance that it will be frowned upon.

If you have interest in user made sprites, best is to contact the author directly and ask permission. Unless they already added readme files stating "feel free to use but credit" then you know what to do.

Keep in mind though that spriters are rare and not many people are willing to just like that spent time.

Thanks, now as for the sprites I need are Keine and Satori. Animations would be idle, left, and right movement and a cutin if it's not too hard.

Keine's design isn't that complex, but in which form?
Satori might take longer but it won't be too bad.
As for the Cutin, I'm on vacation for another 5 weeks, and only a laptop. Plus, I don't have access to a drawing tablet, which is essential to make a cutin.
I'm sorry to say I can't make the cutin. I don't have access to good enough supplies.

Qwerty: If it's for your own game, it's best that you code the actual players yourself, I think. The hardest part is the graphic component, and since the players will need to be balanced to your game, you'll have to be the one to bugtest.

That being said, it's up to you.

Don't forget that you'll need sprites for the options, attacks, bomb effects, etc, and will also need a cutin of some sort. Might want to request those if you don't have them.

I only need character sprites and bomb effects. Im using official zun art cutins right now, but I'll requests other ones in the future, and I think player sprites are the most important thing right now.

Moreover, I don't know how to make the green bullet part of the attack yet. I would have to play around with danmakufu a little bit.
It won't be exactly the same but it should be the same in general. (The Danmaku,) The timing will be a little different.
Also, do you have the sprites? I won't really be giving a sprite.

I am making a Shikieiki script, and I have an idea for an spellcard where I need a Komachi and a Kishin (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Oni) sprite.
I have the ZUN sprites for Komachi and Shikieiki, but could somebody make an animated (idle) sprite for a Kishin?

(Anything will do, as long as it looks a bit similar to an oni, and not completely like Yuuka/Suika etc.)

Because Suika/Yuugi don't really seem like they work in Hell:
Suika is no longer living in the underground, and Yuugi lives in the old hell, and it might be a bit weird to have a spellcard with kishin in the name and have an oni act as kishin in said spellcard.

Yuugi is the backup plan though; I just want to see first if somebody wants to make an sprite for the familiar in question before defaulting to her.
