* Link to the Past Randomizer GlitchlessWhooooaaaaaaa that's awesome! I've been watching a bunch of these and even played a few myself, they're actually really interesting and fun - this'll be fantastic to watch!
Oh hey, an I Wanna game that isn't Boshy. This year's Awful Games Done Quick block looks particularly choice, too. There are a ton of titles I still don't recognize so I can't pick out the awful block right away. Am I the dumb??????
Andy's swordless run at SGDQ 2017 wasone of my favoritethe greatest GDQ runsof all time.

Man, sure wish there were some new arcade beat-em-up runs. I mean, Battletoads are cool but it's pretty much a rerun of something that's already been there before.
I've mentioned here and there that I have no idea why they elected to not put in SM and threaten all the donations they get for Save/Kill. I guess they want to just test it out without it? They can't actually replace it with something else because it was inherently a spontaneous meme. Trying to force a replacement won't work. The game obviously needs a break but it seems like an odd decision money-wise.
So they're gonna try FE8 again, huh?
Also, no Super Metroid?!
I think that's largely a problem with the genre. Very few arcade beat 'em ups have interesting speedrun qualities.I spent a moment thinking of potential fun/interesting beat 'em ups for this and the only thing that felt like it deserved a spot would be a co-op run of either Double Dragon Neon or maaaaybe TMNT4? Unless someone has evidence of some run utterly gutting the game mechanics it's hard to imagine a beat 'em up making it in without being relegated to a late night spot. It's just the nature of the beast.
DKC1 RBO confirmed for hilariousHere let me do these ridiculous glitches so I can move between worlds and do nearly everything out of order. I found out how to do this stuff because I was bored and *REASONS*
the AGDQ donation generator is more entertaining than it should be (http://taskinoz.com/gdq/)
Harmony of Dissonance, Symphony of the Night, FE: Sacred Stones, AND Metroid Prime 3 today at work? Oh, you spoil me AGDQ.
F-Zero is forced to stop 1 min over estimate.
MP3 gets 5 mins over estimate.
I'm guessing there was some other circumstance; like F-Zero not being near finishing? I missed F-Zero itself. If there wasn't a circumstance like that; it seems like rather unfair treatment
Just from what I saw of the discussion, the F-Zero run was technically impressive but incredibly boring to watch. We also went over this a bit with the side scrolling beat-em-ups. There are a lot of great games that are great to play but they just don't translate to speedrunning well. F-Zero was a very execution heavy racer and I never managed to do well in it as a kid but without some crazy stunts I can't imagine even near perfect play being a great watch. Harmony of Dissonance with Maxim on its own is good-not-great, but glitch exploitation, quick movement, and precision tech out the wazoo made it a blast to watch.

(https://media.giphy.com/media/Fml0fgAxVx1eM/giphy.gif) typical gdq bullshitAs explained earlier, that is inaccurate. F-Zero finished, and the runner asked if he could do unscheduled tricks and glitches.
Hope you enjoyed being able to read the drama of Densha de D. The first two chapters were already translated so I only cleaned it up a bit (though not everything was integrated for one reason or another) but the last two races hadn't been done at all.???
I did the translation for the last two races of Densha de D.:o
