Title: Nothing is true, everything is permitted
Post by: Stifled Voices on April 14, 2014, 07:25:34 PM
That is a phrase from Assassin's Creed, but you don't have to know that.

Taken out of its original context, how do you think it would describe the Touhou fanon and the nature of Touhou's canon (he gave you the bones to build upon)?

EDIT: God I think so slowly...

Anyway, how would the same quibble also apply to fandom taking certain liberties with established canon (loose canon)?

Minor quibble, but wrong (http://designingquests.com/?p=522).

To answer the question, I think it's pretty non-controversial to say that ZUN's rather lax attitudes about copyright and attribution has probably helped at least put fewer obstacles in the path of the fandom growing.
