I was smart enough to pre-register this year, hooray for me. I'll be there all three days, cosplaying as Aya again due to Exploding Teeth Syndrome (aka dental problems) interfering with my attempts to put together a Hatate cosplay this year. And also because I still dislike cell phone cameras. BV

I know Squawkers is going, and I bothered my old acquaintance BM (http://blackmorass.deviantart.com/) about going, but as for the rest, it'll mostly be hunting down the few Touhou fans that exist in the Rockies, and hope for at least a few photoshoot opportunities. I also predict much Madoka cosplay. And I will try to post updates by the day, instead of waiting for a week to do that. Fingers crossed.

Yup! Isaac from Dead Space. I think that outfit is from the second one since I've played through the first and there's nothing quite like that.

Also the two THINGS with the octopus plush are the infamous Grunt/Mr. Face unstoppable baddies in Amnesia: The Dark Descent. He's an enemy that's generated more F-bombs than thought possible by a single enemy in a video game.

Tomorrow, going to be a silly brown haired Yukari again. Which is even more silly because my hair is naturally Yukari's color but I dyed it to cosplay Nue/Mamizou, but didn't finish in time... Well, the new explanation is that I'm really Mamizou taking Yukari's form. Because why not. :D

There is a gigantic epic tale between this photo and the last one. What happened was that we went to the Dealers' Room and picked up interesting things (Squawkers and I got 20-dollar grab bags, and I will be posting that on Sunday, to show off my swag), then went outside for some fresh air. Then we (by this time, Sakuya had left our group) decided we were all quite hungry, and went over to the Wendy's to get something to eat.

The line was very long, and we noticed that the drive-thru line was much shorter. Well, it turned out that Danny had his car right there, so we just got into the drive-thru and ordered our food from there (and then his Reimu puppet attempted to collect the change from the cashier, but the grip was too awkward for it to work.) Then we sat around and had a nice lunch.

While at Wendy's, I noticed a series of water fountains over in the distance, so after we had lunch we went to the water fountains to take more photos (after a BlazBlue photography group finished with the area).

Kaitlyn wanted to reenact that well-known .gif file of Yukari "summoning" a train in a subway station with the Light Rail, the tram that connects Denver's various edges to each other. So we walked over the bridge, went down the elevator, and walked through a tunnel to go to the station here.

When we walked to the train station, we had walked through a short tunnel. Originally I noticed the colorful reflective plastic patterns on the walls in admiration, pondering aloud that they would make really cool backgrounds for cosplays of anime that take place in a city of some sorts-- maybe Durarara! or something. At the time we were rushing to the train station to make sure we got good shots, so I didn't think much harder about it.

On the way back, it occurred to me. Just by sheer chance-- how would they look as a background for Touhou pictures instead?

This was the first result.

Time to brag about the swag! Not much, since I'm poor, but enough to satisfy me. A collection of Mai-Hime and My-Otome art, a bag of pocky (to lure out Kyouko cosplayers), an Urahara Kisuke hat (which fits nicely over my tokin hat), some tea, a blue ribbon, and an Achievement Unlocked! button.

Everything under the tie was obtained from the $20 grab bags a dealer was selling on Saturday. A figurine (which was alone priced at $18), a Queen's Blade figurine, a small Gojira model (complete with airplane), a plush cell phone charm, a Macross Frontier keychain (the mecha on the handle of my fan), and two buttons, Anthy and Utena.

Ah, yeah, sorry. The roots are showing up, though! (That doesn't actually do anything. lolhat) I think I'll let it grow to Yukari's actual length and not dye it again, so the next time it will work better. And thanks!

Sorry if I kind of derpfaced a lot of the photographs. Anyway, I'm absolutely in love with the quality of the photography here, and that amazing camera. Ah, and on the reflective plastic things, I somehow see them fitting China or Miko fairly well, or any of the underground characters in a shot that makes it obviously a tunnel.

Next time, grab every hat that there is in the whole convention! You'll end up with a lot of tricornes...

Ah, and on the reflective plastic things, I somehow see them fitting China or Miko fairly well, or any of the underground characters in a shot that makes it obviously a tunnel.
Honestly, it reminded me most of one of Meiling's spellcards in EoSD. Rainbow Wind Chime or whatever it was (not her midboss spellcard).

The amount of guest viewings here is because I am linking to this page from the NDK forums, by the way. Lots of people looking for photos of their cosplays. I hope they find what they want, it'll mean my time spent taking all these photos, then resizing and captioning them, wasn't a total wash. :fail:

That is... so true! Now I'm tempted to do Meiling next year just to get that picture. :V

Also the very last mystery cosplay pic (blue belly dance looking girl) is Umi from the 2nd season of Rayearth in her country outfit.
