(note to self, don't browse the forum on a 3ds ever again)
It's been fun. I really liked the random part of it.
Come to think of it, has anyone done a mass text boss fight using the RNG?
And I thought posting replies from a cell phone was bad enough...
There were many points when such a fight could've happened, but
you guys the RNG ended up ruining the plot progression
I might do a Touhou final boss rush in the style of this game sometime later. Less plot, more pew-pew.
I never really planned to be such an instrumental part in wrapping up loose ends, but I got stubbornly committed to it. Hooray?
Anyway, great game, would die repeatedly again. I'm rather surprised at how my luck fluctuated in some of the most inopportune times, but hey I can always brag that I talked down a murderous Reimu with offers of lunch.
EDIT: I feel bad that I sorta cut off everyone else's last actions. Will we be expecting some sort of grand conclusion wrap-up?
Let's go for some "what if?":
- If you hadn't hurried off to the Hakurei Shrine after the Watsukis were escorted across the Sea of Sado, the current story might have lingered on a bit longer.
- Your success in convincing Akina to mention her husband pretty much ended the incident. If you failed, a full-on invasion of Gensokyo would take place.
- You know you'd like to see that happen, r- right?
You seem to love testing your luck, but keep in mind that I'll find a way to make your character die no matter what your [1] is in response to.
As for the conclusion/epilogue, whether it's a good end or bad end depends on who's perspective you look at it from. To everyone in Gensokyo, it's as if another incident was averted. Everyone who supported Yukito's plan for a revolution died along with him "weeks" before you came into the story. As such, the villagers will go forward like they do after any other big incident. Haruko and Akina will grieve over the loss of a loved one soon after they arrive home and find comfort among the world they (and
YOU) know and love. Of course, their friends will be there for them, and they will keep their promise to you by keeping silent about the whole thing. Whether it's a good or bad ending to you depends on who you sympathize with. Yukari and Reimu did all this because they feared that Yukito would threaten the very existence of Gensokyo. To them, the mass murdering of a hundred-or-so people means very little if it can prevent the spread of information about Gensokyo beyond its borders. On the other hand, Akina came to find her husband as any caring wife would do. After she disappeared in the same way Yukito did, Haruko ended up crossing the barrier herself, only to be caught up in the same situation as her mother. In the end, all they wanted to do was find each other and leave. You, the players, were the ones that helped them achieve their goal. There were several occasions when one (or both) of them would die a permadeath, but the RNG seemed to be nice enough to not let that happen.
