> Suika gives you a thumbs up from the floor.  "Leave it to me."
> She then dissolves into a fine mist and disappears.  Ran walks across the room towards the back door.
> "I'll be outside if you need me," Ran says.  "Good luck."

> You leave the shrine and start flying back towards the base of Youkai Mountain.  You still have some daylight left, but by the time the campsite is visible, it's almost completely dark out.  You see bursts of danmaku over the water, near the Myouren Temple.  There are lanterns lit around the settlement too, looks like.  Although it's night, it seems as though there are still humans up and about.

> You swoop down closer.
> You see a familiar pink cloud with huge fists, bludgeoning danmaku away from a small figure in front of it.  Yards away, the person shooting drops the attack and holds up what is clearly a spellcard.  A flurry of purple and pink arrows are released in a criss-cross pattern and moving from left to right.  A crowd has gathered on the deck of the Myouren Temple, which floats nearby.  There's a lot of cheering going on, from both humans and youkai.  There are tengu perched on the masts and kappa bobbing in the water below.  Some have gathered on rafts.

> You circle around to get a look at cloud girl's opponent.  It's a tengu girl with long pigtails and a purple checkered skirt.  Wait a minute, you know who that is...

> You hover around, looking for anyone you recognize in the crowd.  Byakuren, Shou, the ship ghost, and Nazrin are visible at the front of the crowd.  Byakuren watches with a calm expression, while Nazrin sits on Shou's shoulders, looking bored.  Shou and the ghost, however, look much more excited: Shou clasps her hands together and has her eyes fixed on the duel, while the ghost cheers and whoops.  Akyuu, scribbling into a notebook, is among the humans gathered around this group.  Right next to her is, lo and behold, Kosuzu.
> As for the other youkai here tonight, you don't see anyone you recognize.  None of the tengu on board resemble Aya, who is the last person you'd expect to be missing from a scoop like this.  You duck around the ship and fly along the shore, where hordes of kappa are running back and forth from the forest.  Marisa's friend should be among them, but you don't see her either.

> You fly back to the ship and hover down to the edge, where Byakuren is standing.  In the process, you obscure the view of the danmaku duel, and the other Myouren Temple members move to the side so that they can see the fight better.  From the looks of it, things are only starting to heat up.
> Byakuren, unfazed, smiles at you.  "Hello, there."

> She gestures to the spellcard duel taking place.  "And now even more youkai have shown up.  It's turning out more and more like a festival, especially after tanuki started showing up.  The little menreiki was with them.  Do you remember her?"

> "I could try talking to some of the youkai here tonight," Byakuren says.  "I could get Shou to help me...if I can tear her away from the stands."
> She smiles a little and looks to the tiger youkai, who is now cheering alongside the ghost.  Nazrin hangs onto her for dear life.

> Byakuren shakes her head.  "No.  I think we're handling things well with the youkai here."
> As she says this, the danmaku above the water explodes into multicolored fireworks.  The pink cloud and the girl with him hover in the air, as the tengu spirals down towards the water.  She catches herself right before she can fall in, and the crowd goes wild.  The ghost jumps off the ship and flies out to meet the winner.
> "Ichirin!" she cries as she tackles the other girl.  "You did iiiit!"
