>You'd think so. But doesn't condemned sorta mean they can't be fixed?
>It's one of the two high schools on the Island. You didn't go there (FDR Memorial for life!). It has a reputation for bad students, but Yamame has said that's just a story.
>You are able to find your way to most places, at least in the general sense. You know there's a bustling harbor, a sizable airport, the USA Military Base, the Research Institute, Scarlet Museum and City Hall (one big building), Armistice High and FDR Memorial High (and their associated elementary and middle schools), Gensokyo Isle University, and probably some other important things you can't immediately bring to mind. And a lot of non so important things.
>You're an orphan, apparently your folks abandoned you not long after you were born. You have no idea who your birth parents are, but apparently don't live here. You stopped caring about them at all years ago, Satori has been all the mom you've ever needed, though she hates to be called that (it makes her feel old). She's been there as long as you or Orin, can remember; you're both the same age. Orin is pretty much your sister, though you're really more best friends than anything. You also have an kinda estranged aunt, Koishi, who is a world traveler. You have no idea where she is; sometimes you get postcards. You've not seen her for years.
>You don't have a lot of friends, to be honest. This is really just due to the kind of person you are, you tend to hang out with a small circle of people. Orin's your best friend, naturally. You've also hung with Yamame for years. Recently you've considered your boss, Nitori, to be pretty chill.

>The inspector is not named, but you see that Commissioner Tenma has signed the notice.
>"Well, the toilet dies sometimes. But, they all work. I'm pretty sure the drinking water is okay..."
>You jot this down.

> Is everyone in this story Human, or are they how they should be? Utsuho/Okuu with her wings, ect.

> This voice wonders why you can't do that. The civil branch of the city government, or, more specifically, a local branch determines if houses can be lived in or not, and stamps a big fat 'Condemned' notice on those that are found wanting, for the safety of their inhabitants and the buildings around them. These buildings are then knocked down.

Lol I didn't know that. Z-Machine Adventure can be educational and good for your brains!  :)
I still want to know if the local branch is run by any of the Touhou characters though, should it turn into quest and we need to visit there. Better maximize our information before we start walking.

>The official languages are English and Japanese; in that order. You are fluent in both; though you aren't that great at reading Japanese, but you can usually cobble the meanings together. You can hear other languages in the port region,  and most people here know a few words in Chinese and a couple other Asian Languages; including yourself.
>You've heard of a Yuugi. She's some kind of badass.
>It's about ten minutes to Yamame's house. Five if you hoof it and take the shortcuts.
>Yamame works at Mad Mart, where you get most of your groceries.

> Gathering by our not being able to pursue our dream initially, does that mean we never managed to get into University?
> If so, what did we do after leaving school?

>You did not. Your grades were mediocre, and you just didn't have the confidence to deal with entry exams. Instead, you looked around for something else. It was Satori who pushed you toward heating and air work, after saying heaters are kind of like nuclear reactors, only less big. It's turned out to work pretty well for you, you make fairly good money.

>You think it's because there's always been a Scarlet in Governor's seat.
>You leave Miss Hieda and return home. You don't have a computer in your room, rather you and Orin share one in the front room.
>You check a local news site. Hmm, it seems there was a nasty twelve-car pile-up on the freeway. Oh, and it seems a locale chain store was recently fined 100,000☼ for record keeping errors. It also seems there has been a burglary at one of the warehouses at the Harbor.
>You check Armistice High's website. God, it's an unreadable mess. You persevere and find nothing especially exciting; just some schedules for upcoming sporting and school events, and some social threads that violate every language you know.
>The Research Institute's Website is vague and unhelpful when it comes to identifying what is going on there right now. But you do find some contact information. Searching conspiracy theory websites is equally unhelpful; pretty much any and every conspiracy theory is tied to it: Lizardmen, weather control, time travel, mind control, cold fusion, hot fusion, chemtrails, DNA alteration... Yeesh.
>You visit the Government's website and jot down the important names:  Governor Remilia Scarlet, City Commissioner Tenma, Treasurer And Administrative Chief Sakuya Izayoi, Sheriff Momiji Inubashira. There are others, but they don't seem important.
>Finding military figures is a little tricky, it seems they are not eager to advertise who all is there. But you do find one Captain Inaba referenced as a liaison.
>You have a gaming forum you hang at and a few daily sites you check, but...you kind of don't feel like visiting right now. It seems like a waste of time, given the world is wrong.
>You obtain: Purse
>You obtain: Driver's License
>You obtain: 75☼
>You obtain: Debit Card

>You decide you could do worse than visiting the local store.
>You begin to trek north, cutting through an alley to save some time. The streets are empty, and aside from echos from the freeway and the occasional dog barking, quiet as well. Everyone's at work or school, it seems, for you don't see any around. It's a little windy out, catching the occasional stray paper or plastic bag and sending it skipping about.
>You reach Mad Mart's parking lot  without incident. It is a larger than a convenience store, but not quite a supermarket. The parking lot is almost entirely empty. The store itself is built into an unattractive little strip center it fully occupies, with a huge light plastic sign declaring its name. To the east, you see Sparrow's Roost, a burger place that's been around since forever. A bus stop, with a route map, can be seen to the north, while a gas station sit on the west corner. Obvious exits are West 1, West 2, North, South, and East.

>Recall if you know anyone working in the Sparrow's Roost.
>Go into the Mad Mart.

>You go to copy the route map, and find it's unnecessary. There are little pamphlets there to take.
>The route this station is on goes downtown, then the harbor, then uptown, then to the park, then to the outskirts, the university district, the airport, the industrial park, then the back here again.
>You don't really know anyone there, as you don't get to eat there very often; money's tight and when it comes to fast food or toys that last, you'll take toys every time.
>You head west into Mad Mart.
>Inside, you see aisles of groceries and daily consumables. In the back are refrigerated cases full of cold drinks. The decor is minimalistic, with little to distract you from the goods save a red stripe running along the top of the wall to add a little color. Curved security mirrors hang in the corners. There is music being pumped in from somewhere, a bass-heavy instrumental track you could bob your head to. At the counter is a brown-haired main you vaguely know as Boss Non, the owner and Yamame's boss. You hardly know the guy, save that he seems a little spastic sometimes and he has a smile that Yamame describes as "making you think he wants to wear your skin." He makes a finger gun at you as you enter, then goes back to messing with his cell phone.
