> Try to mess with the waves to see if we can observe something in the blackness.

>You tamper with the light spectrum a bit, trying to find more about the blackness. You can change the colors a bit, making it easier to see the rippling within it. It's like watching the ripples from a light rain falling into a puddle, there's a sort of rhythmic motion to it. However, you aren't sure what exactly is there to ripple at all. You don't think you're looking at something fluid.

>You try to open another portal. This time, you are not so sure that you've succeeded, but you think you've managed to get something.
>You feel a curious sensation within yourself; a sort of shifting of awareness. You aren't really able to interpret it, but you think that something has happened to the world you rebuilt. Something that...probably isn't bad.

> Head through.

>You step through the portal
>You emerge into an inky blackness, frighteningly similar to the the void you were in when nearly all of the stars had gone out. But this is not a void, you don't think it is, anyways. The space around ripples and flows like an ocean, but those are the only signs of any kind of activity at all. Were it not for that, you would think this place is completely empty of any substance.
>You can feel things in this void, something akin to emotions. No, not quite emotions, more like impulses. You can feel that this place is driven by an impulse to destroy. There's a strong will guided by this impulse, you don't think it knows anything else. You can feel that it remembers things, vaguely.
>There is a low rumbling noise that seems to emanate from everywhere at once; one you have heard upon vanquishing the Apparition in the past. This place knows you are here.
>Wisps of substance begin to curl from you and disappear; you are beginning to evaporate.

>You fire some danmaku into the emptiness. The bullets fly outwards, it's a little depressing to see so few after you had been supported by the gems. They don't hit anything, they just fly outwards until out of sight, quietly evaporating.
>You think you note your own evaporating slow a little.

>And if that works, try to will away the conscious in this area. At the least, try to will it away from a small area around yourself, creating a little ground for you to stand on.

>You try to reform yourself; but it feels as though you're pushing against a brick wall. It's simply not letting you do it.
>You are starting to feel other things here. There is a strange, almost intelligence to this place. It is hard to define, it feels...fragmented, as though it were not remotely complete. It feels very simple as well, like what you imagine an animal's  intelligence to be like. Perhaps even more basic than that, as you don't think it has the even all of the functions of an animal's intelligence. But within its narrow abilities, you sense it is more able than most beasts.

>Another rumble emanates from the void. You can feel that it this is as close as it can come to speaking. No, not quite speaking. Speaking implies that it is trying to be understood, and you don't think it really understands the idea of communication. It is simply expressing a reaction.

>You try to convey the feeling of accomplishment that comes with creating an object.
>The void rumbles again. You...are not sure how it took that. You're not even sure if it has the capacity to feel such things. The undulation of the void seems to be a little different now.

>You take a closer look at its memories. Almost all of them involve you in some way, things you've done to it, ways to try and get around them; what has succeeded and what has failed. There are memories of the gems, vague ones. These are very important to it. There are memories of a sword, a weapon draped in rainbow colors. It doesn't seem to have much of a past beyond this.

>It is a much faster process without the other here to slow you down. You are able to complete restore a much of it before you feel it return, spreading itself everywhere and setting itself to tearing apart what you've made.
>You have recovered a bit as well, your hands and feet are mostly normal again, though your fingertips are still translucent.
