It's the hair.  And the eyes.  And the skirt.  And the right sleeve.  And the sake dish.

...yeah.

No. I'm pretty sure it's not the hair.
TOKIAME's art uses the same eyes.
The skirt is just some random layers placed above each other >_>

Coloring, shading in particular.

But spectacular nonetheless.

Wait, you're supposed to put effort into art?

Art is a visual way of expressing one's feelings, etc, etc. You just have to draw anything you want or anything that comes to your mind. You can put effort into art IF you want to. It mostly depends on what your drawing.

i should have put more effort on drawing this

Don't worry, it looks perfectly fine.

Did it work ?

...that is the most awesome pic of Byakuren I've seen in a while. Very well done. I like it.

This is the second time you've drawn Byakuren, no? Is the hair colour lighter in this one?

Do you use a tablet? And do you ink it first on paper or do you trace over the line art on a tablet?

Well, all in all, very impressive work. I can't think of anything to improve.

will likely never finish this

Armpit section really bothers me 'cause I've never delved into drawing them unclothed in a case where I would need depth. Right now it's kind of flat and I'm pretty sure the shoulder joints are off because of this as well. I love the hair and ears though, even if it's just scribbling with pen->eraser >_>

So I'm planning to make some drawings soon and post them here. I have quite some Touhou parodies thought up already which I wish to put on paper. I'm quite busy with school lately, so it's going to take some time before I can finish them. For one of these parodies I'm not entirely about who is going to be who, though, and I would like to know some suggestions from you guys.

The parody in question is a Touhou version of the Kirby show, 'Kirby: Right Back at ya', obviously starring Yuyuko as Kirby ('Kiryuko', if you may). I figured out quite some characters already, but I'm not entirely sure about everyone of them, and alot are still missing. Could you guys help?
Here come the characters and their roles:

Yuyuko as Kirby
Maribel as Fumu/Tiff
Renko as Bun/Tuff
Mugetsu & Gengetsu as Lololo & Lalala/Fololo & Falala
Mystia as Tokori
Orin as Chef Kawasaki (she had a restaurant themed Iosys song afterall)
Meiling as Knuckle Joe
Sakuya as Sirica
Hisou Tensoku as Kabu
Utsuho as Dynablade
Saigyou Ayakashi as Whispy Woods
Shikieiki as King Dedede (Yama Dadada!)
Komachi as Escargon/Escargoon
Youmu as Meta Knight
Konngara as Sword
Meira as Blade
Yumeko as the Nightmare Salesman/Customer Service
Shinki as Nightmare/eNeMeE
Yuyuko's butterfly danmaku as the Warpstar

And here come the Cappys. Not sure if I'll ad them though:
Kotohime as Chief Borun/Bookem
Akyu as Mabel
Rinnosuke as Curio
Patchouli as Bibli
Eirin as Dr. Yabui
Marisa as the Cappy burglar

And that's all I have. I'm not sure who should be Sir Ebrum and Lady Like, the rest of the Cappys and Kirby's animal friends. I'm not even sure about Maribel and Renko as Fumu and Bun. Maybe instead Daiyousei and Cirno? But that'll limit the selection of ice monsters... Not sure about Sakuya being Sirica and Orin being Kawasaki either. Anyone any supportive ideas?

Great work. I love Satori's expression in particular, but then someone could draw Satori with buck teeth and I'd still like it.

Okashi: Never watched it/know virtually nothing about Kirby, sorry.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful idea.

... But you better keep addressing the Kirby anime and characters and they should be... Not how 4Kids corrupted them to be.

That would make me quite upset.

Anyway, I'm not too sure about Sikieiki and Komachi. Dedede is immature, and Escargon is intelligent, while happening to play a victim role.
Although the only immature antagonist that comes to mind could be Remilia, with Escargon more likely to be Patchouli than Sakuya.

Personally, I think Mokou could fit the Knuckle Joe / Sirica personality quite well, but this isn't too necessary.

In the end, I'm sorry to say I actually didn't have much to contribute. But this concept is still a big deal to me, considering that Kirby is absolutely awesome and wonderful and super and great and excellent and yeah

These are more like mouse doodles than art, but this seems the best place to post so, heh

I'm loving the names you give these doodles lol.

Also some absolutely fantastic work in here. Ran, Yuugi and Byakuren stick out to me. Yuugi because... its yuugi.

And the fairy of postal services? lol. I thought fairies were of natural forces... ahh... the fairy of postal strikes!
