Phantasmagoria with everybody as playable character. Even Rinnosuke. Especially Rinnosuke. Oh, but Miko is even more important.

They don't need to all have story modes, of course, but if Miko doesn't get one then game is fail

Mokou + Kaguya: Because they still weren't playable even when HM came around
Sekibanki: SCREEN FULL OF HEADS AND LASERS, WAT DO

Satori: I really think this could make for some very interesting fights if done correctly.

Science Touhou. Moriya Shrine Conspiracy?
I'd like some kind of Rikako/Yumemi/Chiyuri/Morgan/Muse look-alike. Or well, just some kind of scientist (who isn't a certain kappa).

Have to look at the extra translation first, do anyone have it translated already?

Option 1 : After the cause of Youkai Rebellion, Reimu`s Gohei and Marisa`s Mini-Hakkero is overflowing with darkness so both of them must find the one who can purify their weapons until it turn into tsukumogami, stage 6 boss has the ability to prevent weapons to turn into tsukumogami while extra stage boss is the one who can purify weapons.

Out of the "options" in the OP, this one seems most likely, plot-wise...

As for me? UNDERWATER TOUHOU PLEASE Save for the tsukumogami concept being recycled yet again, DDC has a lot of interesting, unique creatures; I'd like to see more of that, please~

Playable Sekibenki just sounds cooler to me. Dunno why.

And actually, Suwako and Yoshika were in planning, but both got dropped at the last minute.

Sukuna is a maybe/maybe not deal like with Utsuho.

Also, Aya needs to return. Nuff said.

If you look at the numbers of the games, you can see that the Phantasmagorias are all on multiples of 3. (PoDD and PoFV are on 3 and 9, respectively.)

Since the next game is Touhou 15, then it could be another Phantasmagoria.

Look at the factors of 3 and 9:
3=3*1
9=3*3

If TH15 is a Phantasmagoria, the it would be continuing the pattern:
15=3*5

The 2nd factor is always an odd number.

Anyone else thinking that we might get to visit the Outside World some time? We keep getting Outside World references in the Religion arc:
- Moriya Shrine came from the Outside World
- WaHH implied that the youkai are planning something that has to do with the Outside World
- Mamizou also came from there
- And now Raiko got her power from the Outside World also

Maybe this will be the beginning of the Outside World arc?

And all of this clearly means we never see Mima because she has gone to and ruled the OutsideWorld

If we're going by PoFV structure, then the roster probably would be:

Playable characters : Reimu, Marisa, Sanae. And maybe Youmu and Sakuya.
Team(9) tier characters : Nazrin, Sekibanki, Kogasa, and Kyouko seems to be the most plausible IMO
Stronger characters: Benben/Yatsuhashi, Futo/Tojiko
New characters. One will continue to appear in future games while the other get forgotten.
Yuuka : Because she's Yuuka
New character - subfinal boss
New character - final boss

TH15 will be a rhytm game I called it. Prismriver Sisters, Kyouko, Mystia, and Tsukumo sisters + Raiko will be the playable characters.

Something tells me ZUN isn't to concerned with being numerically strict. But also, consider that you are extrapolating from 2 data points. If the the second Phantasmagoria has been an even number you could say there's a trend in alternating even and odd numbers.

Dead characters and music characters could each get some unique gimmick on top of their own personal shtick (Murasa's anchors, good old-fashioned Prismriver beatdowns, etc.) which could be interesting.  And Seija's there for some odd reason, because Seija.

People are tired of tsukumogami already? There've been new youjuu characters (animal youkai) in every game from PCB to TD and no one was complaining. Is this the oppression of the tools?

Anyway, I hope we don't get another Phantasmagoria game. Luckily I doubt ZUN will make one since he probably would have done so by now if he was interested.

Phantasmagoria would be really cool.
Still one of my favorite part.
I still remember the earlier Touhou games (6,7,8,...).
They all had so many different features.
And then ZUN started with MoF and it became so featureless.
Luckily than UFO started with some more features again.
Still, I'd like to have game with new and lot of features.
Though Phantasmagoria would also be cool.
Also, I hope that ZUN someday will release a part (maybe a fighting-part), where they're all extra stage bosses, playable.
This way, no one would be TOO strong, to put into the game.

Oh, and few features like re-watch the endings. (Always making me furious, if I wanted to check an ending again)
And maybe also a function to fast-foward the music, in the music room (sth I just urged for).

BTW, just noticed that th14 is not connected to th13, story-wise.
Well, I haven't finished playing yet, so don't tell me if there's a connection in story.
