--- Quote from: Drake on April 30, 2011, 05:40:05 AM ---One time I noticed one of my family members was searching Recent Documents and such very thoroughly, so I set up a folder on the desktop labeled PORN, hid it, enabled viewing of hidden folders and stuck a bunch of huge files that just said "I TRUST YOU TOO"

--- End quote ---
I knew of the practice of making a folder labeled PRAWN, make it available via network on a LAN party, and putting in several undred megs of images and videos showing prawns.

This is even petter.

If only I could lay a trap like this on Facebook, just for my snooping aunt.
Hello Purvis:

--- Quote from: E-Nazrin on April 30, 2011, 02:44:57 AM ---Just leave a copy on the desktop and see if they bite.

They don't even bother with the other icons. I doubt they'd notice the new addition.

--- Quote from: Miniscule Meiling's Picture Session on April 30, 2011, 03:08:19 AM ---While you're at that, put it as a shortcut, put the Solitaire icon on it, and rename it "Solitaire" if you really want a prank :3

"Purvis, the laptop's all screwed up! Think we should buy a new one?"

Of note: This has often been the reaction they've considered to moderate problems. I've probably saved 'em a good couple thousand in not getting new computers.

Actually, most consumers react this way when they even get light-moderate problems. Perfectly good computers that can last them 3-7 years (hell, most of the current hardware is already too powerful for most consumers)...suddenly wasted within 18 months due to how they can't use a reinstall disc!
