>Peer out a window. Fire some glowing danmaku.

> You approach a window and fire off some danmaku.  The bullets glow in the water, revealing a nice view of the front yard.  Aside from some fish and the plant-stones, there's nothing out of the ordinary.

I forgot, did we get a flashlight or a lantern at some point?

You know you can always ask what's in our inventory. Which I'll do right now since I need more excuses to participate and so we can solve this lantern dispute.

>as we check the hallway, take a quick mental refresher of what's currently in our inventory.

> Main Hallway, first.

>as we check the hallway, take a quick mental refresher of what's currently in our inventory.

> You enter the main hallway from the parlor.  The walls are a plain white color, with small framed paintings hanging on them.  To your left is a single door, next to which is one of those hallway tables with a defunct lamp and five framed photographs.  To your right are two other doors.  At the end of the hallway, in the middle of the two other halls it segues into, there's a partially glassed door, flanked by two windows.  It appears to lead out into a greenhouse, or a sitting room.  There are many plants from what you can see, so it's hard to tell.

> It would be incredible if it wasn't, but you get the feeling that it is.

> Examine the set of five photos.
> Make another mental note: get a reliable source of light that works underwater.

> You examine the photographs.  One of them, of course, is a photo of Marisa and Alice smiling for the camera.  The next two are photos of what you recognize to be denizens from Makai: the first one is of that one maid with all of her swords, and the second is a simple photo of Makai's ruler, Shinki.  The next one is, oh, a photo of you, Marisa, and Alice when you were younger.  Alice must be more sentimental than you thought.
> The last photo is a picture of Yuuka, the youkai from the Garden of the Sun, which seems almost out of place among these childhood photographs.
> You wonder if you really could find anything more reliable than danmaku.  You decide to keep a lookout, just in case.

>Head toward the glass door, and look around for open doors. Fish don't have hands closed doors shouldn't be a thing...

> They didn't.  Maybe you're just being paranoid.
> As you swim towards the glass door, you notice that none of the doors are open.  Why are they closed?  Fish can't close doors.  It might be water pressure, or something more sinister.
> Approaching the glass door reveals that it is indeed a sitting room, just one with a lot of plants in it.  A table sits at the center, surrounded by cushioned chairs.  The windows in this room are still intact.

>Open the door.

> You open the door.
> The first thing wrong with this picture is that you were able to open the door, instead of being held back by water pressure.  Inside is a plain toilet and sink, and a small window towards the top of the wall, completely blocked by the plant-stones.  There is a medicine cabinet above the sink that also functions as a mirror...or rather, functioned.  It has been smashed and its contents--most of which are fairly mundane things such as combs and nailclippers--lay in the sink or on the floor.  Mirror shards can be found in all corners of the room.
