#27 is much too simplified to answer as it is, unfortunately.
#27 is much too simplified to answer as it is, unfortunately.A couple of them did seem a bit generalized, but a one sentence question with a single-click answer is a lot faster than a 6 paragraph essay that could be used to respond for those ones.
By the by, this isn't a survey to reveal the political or religious affiliation of the forum. But could settle an age-old dispute once and for all. This might be amusing.
All the typos should be gone now, clearing up any confusion. Hope no one scrambled to the dictionary to look up "strongle".Yeah, I was starting to wonder if that was deliberate and had something to do with the purpose of the survey.
Hope no one scrambled to the dictionary to look up "strongle".It was clearly a typo of "strangle". I picked it when I felt strongly opposed to whatever was being asked. :)
In a truly just society, the gap between rich and poor is as small as possible. > I can't really grasp the meaning of this question at all, what are you asking for?
individual personal responses to each questionThat's not how it works, bro
A "just" society is potentially different from a "fair" or even an "equal" society.
agbhasbgaI'm pretty sure you're thinking way too hard about this.
An "I agree, sorta" option was needed, too.
Have I said that I hate the notion of "strongly" agreeing or disagreeing with something?
"I viscerally hate this crap"
"This shit is so great I'm going to shove it down"
Not many better options, really :V
Mathematics aren't certain, as there is no certain thing in this world, only probabilities.
survey
Anyway, there is a lot of vagueness in many of the questions, but I can believe that it's intentional. Did you put together the questions yourself? If so, I feel that I can see some personal bias in their wording. It's not too strong(le), but keep that in mind when analyzing the answers.
Fortunately, this isn't a survey on the political or religious composition of MotK, and of course there are a portion of questions which are there to obfuscate the purpose.
Completed it. I've had to google half of the words there :VI...
Everyone talking about the vagueness of the questions, the precise meaning of "strongly agree," etc., is thinking too much.Everyone is overthinking it. It's an experiment, not a survey. BV
I kinda started doing first impulse decisions after I realized I was probably over thinking some of these. I also started ignoring the strong options because I didn't have a good criteria to decide what was a strong feeling. That's probably the way this scale is meant to work because it's entirely possible that I just don't care strongly for any of these questions.

Or perhaps I should say, rather, that you are thinking too strongle.

So this survey's goal was to identify the degree of pedantry that happens when people with no academic background on a subject end up deciding to act as authorities on a topic...
If anything this will have proven that motk doesn't trust polling.
I like how this thread is laced with paranoia already. I hope that was one of the intended results.:derp:
Out of 81 responses, there was only one blank and one incomplete.:derp:
So most people would go to Byakuren. That's all well and good, but I know where I'd go.Pretty much.
and it isn't there.
Moriya shrine please, seems like a fun place to be. AND they totally have a giant mech.

It was interesting to see in which questions "Not Sure" spiked.Frankly I really disliked the wording of that middle option. "Not sure", to me, implies I have no clear idea where I stand (ie, maybe this is an issue I've never really debated much), as opposed to a "middle ground" option (ie, I have a clear idea where I stand on the issue but I feel a solution/etc. doesn't lie along either views presented or that the problem can't be reduced to a dichotomy so easily)... Odds are it wouldn't have affected the outcome much anyhow, I would think. :)
As we can all clearly see through cold, hard, unforgiving science, Myouren Temple wins.

Ara. The results seem to align a bit with the poll we had some time ago regarding which faction we liked the most. Also, I wager some people at least noticed that there were 4 distinct kinds of questions.I was not able to see that, though I did suspect that the survey was testing for shrine alignment. Other possibilities that crossed my mind were that it was somehow Haruhi-related - hence the questions about ESP, alien life forms, etc. - or that the survey responses didn't matter at all, and it was an eon8-ish thing to see how people respond to ambiguity or something.
TEAM BUDDHA REPRESENT, BITCHES.
Just to clear something up: results were gauged not just by whether or not someone agreed with a question, but whether they disagreed, too. I would not be surprised if questions aligned more heavily with one or more temples, despite a conscious effort to balance. And some questions might read as one temple to one person but another temple to another. Either way, that still leaves the choice to agree or disagree, and both counted towards how the response was aligned. That said, a greater number of questions aligned towards one or more temples probably did have some influence on results.Don't listen to him! You're all being brainwashed by the Myouren media!

Team Myouren represent. I hope Byakuren is the hugging sort!
Wait, how do we tell which # we were and what our final alignment was?
by looking at the time and the first few questions. That's how I found it anyway. Assuming you posted here just after submitting it, you should be able to use the time of the post to get a general idea, though you'll have to take time zones or something into consideration. Then just see which answers seem like yours. :V For example, so few people disagreed with number 3, but I knew I chose "strongly disagree," so that made it easy for me to find mine. (And yeah, taking the question literally, I think that is the definite "right answer." Rephrased like BT said, my answer would have been different.)
Oh god "(dis)agree" stopped looking like a word to my brain.Oh man, I know what you mean. Starts to sound weird too if you say it to yourself.
Fun fact: the only answer to #3 was "strongly disagree". The question would be fine if it had been "do you think there is intelligent life", not "do you think that it is a mathematical certainty", which from what I understand is false outright.
#52 reporting.
So I what's my prize for winning this?
Ammy, could you expand a little more on how each question contributed to a person's temple alignment (like I don't know whether agreeing or disagreeing with a certain topic in a category would make me more Buddhist/Taoist)?
Dirty Buddhist commies, all of you are dirty Buddhist commies.HIPPIES!
If you hold the viewpoints this survey assigns to the Myouren Temple, why are you celebrating the company of a serial killer with anti-human tendencies?
Former serial killer. That changes everything, you know. How and why. If you're not joking then there could easily be another topic for that alone.
How and why. If you're not joking then there could easily be another topic for that alone.
Now let's have a more cheerful conversation! :D...As opposed to the one about serial killers we're having?
I am going to assume I fell into the Myouren Temple because of how I know my viewpoints are already.
Fuck yeah I get to hang with Murasa.
This was really interesting, Ammy. Both the results and people's responses before/after the whole thing was revealed.
Murasa's a former mass murderer, present serial killer. She used to drown indiscriminantly but now actually puts careful consideration into her victims.
(In before Death Note argument.)
So she's basically the Punisher?No.
Yessssss.

IT ALSO HAS A PRETTY DAMN GOOD ECHO echo echo echo
Taoists: A pyromaniac, a DJ, a zombie and a crazy fetus lady.Fix'd. :)
Moriya:Not-Sakuya.Sanae
Hakurei: Lazy miko.
Anyway, what timezone is the spreadsheet Ammy? I think I am myself hanging towards Hakurei.
This was science Gensokyo-style.
SO ANYWAY HOW BOUT DEM TAOISTS
Seiga is a crazy fetus lady? @___@
Yeeeaaaah, she's pretty creepy :VNitori's often depicted as eating shirikodama as a snack in fanworks. Do you... know what those are? I think waving dead fetuses around to tame spirits pales in comparison to casually munching on butt-spirits...
Weeeeell, her first spellcard is explicitly described as being, and I quote:
''Seiga Kaku's spell card titles have kana representations of Chinese, using the ancient pronunciations Japan uses for Chinese vocabulary.
(養小鬼: A sorcery which involves taming dead spirits using dead foetus corpses to use as tools''

...Actually, maybe not. But they're both weird. ...Nitori should open her own shrine dedicated to SCIENCE!, IMO.
As water monsters, kappa have been frequently blamed for drownings, and are often said to try to lure people to the water and pull them in with their great skill at wrestling.[12] They are sometimes said to take their victims for the purpose of drinking their blood, eating their livers or gaining power by taking their shirikodama (尻子玉?), a mythical ball said to contain their soul which is located inside the anus.[12][14][15][16]Assballs takes a whole new meaning now
Nitori's last spellcard in Double Spoiler
Where in the hell did she get all those ass-balls?!You know, I'd rather just not know. :)
Simple.
EXTEEEENDING AAAAAARM!
CANNOT UNIMAGINE.
EXTEEEENDING AAAAAARM!Is this what the Trauma in the Glimmering Depths is all about? When you think about it, she's technically pulling the heroine underwater and attempting to steal her shirikodama via her spellcards. >_>
...I actually used to like MoF stage 3. :(
Moar like THE GENSOKYO THE GODS PROBED, amirite?
Dude.Where's my shirikodama?
I can't find any pictures of crazy Nitori though. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough.I think this is a whole lot worse...
Apparently Shirikodama are orange, not blue-green. >_>;hey at least its not brown
I can't find any pictures of crazy Nitori though. Perhaps I'm not looking hard enough. How about a video? (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzmBFT4dt1A) (Not really NSFW? But it's weird/maybe creepy, also maybe kind of loud-ish)
Oh hey it's a dragonball!
Er...
Also, isn't Alice a youkai?
Do kappa eat youkai assballs as well?
Ahh, I'm overthinking it.
I think they take any assball as long as it's good.

This thread has become glorious.
E:This all started with Seiga and her obsession with dead fetuses.
Taken in that context, couldn't she then also eat one and gain health during the fight? :D...Oh my god, it all makes sense now! Miyako is Nitori, who was defeated by the heroine in MoF, found by Seiga, and revived as a zombie in TD! :o

HOW!?Because good times
You're all silly.
Clearly the way Yoshika is Nitori, is that Nitori removed her own assball and Seiga found it with her dead baby waving and shoved it inside of Yoshika to reanimate her.
Shoved what? The dead baby or the assball?
...Both of them are equally disturbing.
guys what have we turned this thread intoThe best thing ever

I thought it was more along the lines of Not Safe For Sanity.
I'm a horrible person for finding this thread funny.suddenly, random comic sans ms font
(Why did I even notice this)
Is that so~?
Because Comic Sans and Papyrus are horrible, horrible fonts.Haters gonna hate
Oddly enough, though, Comic Sans is endemic in the corporate world. Go figure.
Because puns is the only thing this thread lacked. If yukari on making puns the thread probably will get lacked. >_>
Pun are on par, say, with dead baby jokes. Nobody can accomplish a very high level of humor with them, yet once started they may linger for a while before the subject is exhausted. If you want my opinion, sir, no amount of effort will make a pun truly shine. You may copy them down from a website or you can come up with your own, but the result is always the same. Once again, sucky or lame, puns are the worst.

YOU GOT A PUUUUURDY REAR, SHRINE MAIDEN.
LET'S PUT IT TO USE.

That was an interesting debriefing.
Nitori would like to debrief Reimu.
But not in the way Reimu thinks.
Seiga would like to debrief every girls in Gensokyo.
So she could wave her prize around to attract spirits.
:colonveeplusalpha:
YOU ARE MY GOD.Even after that Nitori X Alice pic? :V
Okay, what. You think you can encroach on MY territory. "Right, I'm the punmeister now, k? Nay! Nay I say! That is my job, and if anyone thinks they can outdo me, I will sue, wack, oppress them, and jail them in a mental institution. With the straitjackets and everything. What if this thread has become so nonsensical and weird as to have acquired sentience? And maybe, just maybe, it's angry. Real angry.

We're being warned people. We're just too damned blind to see the signs. @_@
This is why I feel it is necessary to bring out hatlizard. He'll stare down some sanity back into things!

(Hatlizard is very happy because lizards don't have assballs.)
Of course it loves us! Threads are like a parasite. They can't live and thrive on their own. In order to live it picks a topic that interest people and when people become interested it injects them with a poison that makes them keep coming back for more! Sometimes it injects too much and causes people to become delusional and when that happens people derail the thread into random nonsense but, it's all good for the thread. HaHaHaHa IsN'T It GrEaT? :V
Um... When a spider came along I Ran away?
*insert sarcastic, question-inflection laughter here*
fondsmeisterwell okay then
well okay then
What caused us to derail this thread?
The derail begins back on page 5, where we have Seiga called a "crazy fetus lady" (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,13401.msg885926.html#msg885926). From there, the thread has swerved all over the road, from spamtarded to glorious.
Should've locked after the assballs convo.
