Overall, my assessment of the secret santa here is that it's kind of disjointed and doesn't quite work, but I'm also just sad about not having mine. :P
As someone who's done this for 4 years now and never had any problems either way, I think you simply drew the one short straw in a lot of about 150. Vic's asking for more help next year and this year has a disproportionally large number of packages sent/arrived late for various reasons in comparison to all the other years we've had it. The international thing was probly the biggest bear of them all. The theory is sound but could use some revamping/refining to make sure no one gets anything late.

Yeah, this is my second year doing this, in a country with almost extortionist toll services, and haven't had a problem, either. I think there was just a bit more people for one person to coordinate is all.

Every year there's more international participants/countries too which increases the chance of something going wrong by sheer numbers alone.

I think at one point I suggested to Vic splitting the list in half-ish and that way the people organizing can still participate with ~the element of surprise~ so something similar is probably what he had in mind for next year.

And, uh, looking back to get the tracking number for Vic, there's a few complaints from that seller about undelivered goods...

I'm sorry. I messed up.
Have you gotten a hold of the seller?  They might be willing to send a replacement without much fuss, but failing that it's probably not too late for a credit card/Paypal/? chargeback.

Incorrect!  I have gotten money back from bum sellers, and MJP won his case for not having to pay $30 to send back a $40 "free shipping" item that was broken because the seller couldn't spend 5 minutes to wrap something securely.
Though now that I look back, I think they only have a 30-45 day window so that might be gone :(

In all fairness some mishaps are inevitable, but this is the first time it has been this bad, as far as I am aware...

Another thing to remember was that several major shippers also underestimated demand (or rather, overestimated how far they could wring out their workforce), and that caused a lot of issues.

I wouldn't blame Vic or the system here, I have actual mail I sent out right before Christmas that is lost in the ether so yeahhhhhhh, shipping was REALLY BAD this year.

My target was Heena. Glad you got the picture, Heena! Sorry it took so long. International shipping is hard, and I was hoping I got the address right because I've never done it before.

Thank you very much, Alcoraiden! Don't worry, this country's mail service sucks and it's their fault the package was so late :<. I'm really sorry to hear that you haven't gotten your present :ohdear:, and nobody is to blame here but that seller. I really hope something can be done about this!

So, this weekend the second part of Drake's gift finally arrived.

However, it seems the box picked up an Aspergillus oryzae infestation as soon as it arrived. No problem. As you can see, I had the necessary implement to both stave off the nosy microbes and open the package.

Upon opening the box, it turned out to have another box inside.

And what's worse, by this time the paparazzi arrived on the scene as well.

And inside the second package there was yet another box. And the crowd of curious onlookers kept growing...

But finally, the contents of this last box were found, amongst all the packing paper.

A rather big and stylish coffee mug, and a box of mint chocolates (aka, "best chocolate"). In other words, the perfect gifts to go with the coffee he had sent me earlier!
Thanks a lot Drake!
Now just to prevent the freeloading plushies from stealing it...

It was you man? Thank you so much man. I love my gifts.

Where in the world did you find a Megaman x playing card deck? I didn't even think one existed.

Quick search on Amazon/eBay, actually, just looking for X stuff in general.  I knew I HAD to get something X related when I saw your info blurb.  I was looking and that caught my eye so I figured I'd grab it.  Even if you didn't play with the cards it was basically a bunch of mini pictures instead which I figured would be just as well.

Oh right, since you seemed confussed about the Saber notebook, there WAS a reason for that, too, though I dunno if it's actually relevant, but...Since I noticed you write(saw you have a story in PSL) I figured "Writer?  Give him a place to write in before typing!" or something.  Either way, glad to know everything went as well as I'd hoped.  =)

HOWEVER IT WAS THEN THAT AROSE A SAVIOR.

A man with the kindest of hearts. Altruism flows in his veins and generosity is the very air he breathes.

Many say that he is good to eat. Well, to those I say bollocks! It is more than likely that he would eat you. With love. And a lion heart.

For he has taken over the task of spreading the joy of christmas in his hands, and joined arms with a man who travelled to the far east, the exotic orient, the land of the rising sun, in order to accomplish this noble task.

He goes by the curious alias of Edible, and his quest right-hand is known as N-Forza.

Together they arranged to send me a package, with goods beyond what I could wish for. I now present you with a glimpse of the contents of such package:

I got a bit carried away with opening this before I remembered to take pictures, so here's a shot of the empty box

Fuck. Yes.
I've wanted these since like 2006, and for one reason or the other never quite got the opportunity to buy them. Jesus christdfagfdfgad <3

First up, Mai Waifu:

Mai-HiME is probably the major contributor for my teenage self moving from casual Narutard to full-on weeaboo, and certainly the one show I watched the most times. I don't really remember how many times that is, but it's a lot. I make it a point to re-watch it at least once a year, sometimes more. Fuck yeah, Mai.

Next up is her spin-off protagonist

Arika, gurl will beat shit up
Oh, her skirt comes off, obviously. Doesn't reveal much more though, bodysuit and everything.
Interesting foot mount, though

Side by side. Arika is quite a bit bigger than I expected.

Nuclear bombs bad

What this, there's something hidden in the newspaper!

TOUHOU LABYRINTH 2
Was not expecting this one at all. Edible says it's Forza shenanigans, bonus item+++
Didn't run here in this machine I'm borrowing, but it looks awesome. I'll figure it out when I get my hands on a computer of my own again, I have an obligation to play this through

And to wrap it up, mandatory yearly kazoku picture:

Now two pictures, because vegeta what does(ry
Family's grown a lot, now they take two shelves!

This was seriously awesome, thanks you two, you're bloody awesome!
Thanks to Merp too, who gave me the Mikoto(DeLorean's mine though!), and the Eva stuff

... and now that it's march, I guess we can wrap this Christmas up :V Vic where

e: I'm taking pose suggestions for the figmas, still not quite satisfied there
