I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask my sender and/or Santa Hakurei to keep an eye on the tracking information for my package. My mail carrier has been historically terrible about actually delivering things to my apartment complex, often preferring to just skip delivery and mark every package and piece of mail as too large for our mailboxes or some nonsense, so things I order often get deflected off to a nearby post office annex. If the package is over a certain (fairly small) size he actually can't leave it anyway since our dropboxes aren't large, and odds are low that someone will be home when the mail is delivered.

Yeah, I'd like to ask the same, not because the post office is incompetent at delivering(they're not), but because of customs, and because I now live in a house without a doorman to collect my packages, and am never home. They only send a failed delivery notification after 3 or 4 tries, so it takes a while.

If you know which post office branch handles your mail before dropoff you can always go visit them and ask if something came for you. If it's there and you have your ID then you're good to pick it up pretty much right away.

The problem with that is that you'd either have to do it every day, which at least in my case is not the easiest thing ever since it's kind of out of the way, or get lucky on your timing. The one time I had a serious problem with this my package got returned to the vendor in less than a week. I'll do that if I have to, but I don't think it's the most efficient way to fix this problem (if there turns out to be a problem at all, that is).

Don't the 1% have butlers for things like this?  Or the ability to cough up for fast shipping to make sure it arrives on time for Christmas

Usually not, here. You need the tracking number first to locate the package, then they ask for ID. Plus in my region they don't even destribute for the offices to deliver, they do it straight from the distribution center. And as I understand it then it's only good for direct collection after the delivery attempts.

Vento and I mailed ours [REDACTED] but I finally located the shipping receipt (which has the tracking number on it) so I'll send it to Santa Reimu when I get home after school. That is, if I don't get distracted by my new shiny Wii U  :3

For US Santas sending to US partners: taking into account the USPS mail-by dates I'm pushing that mailing deadline back to Wednesday, December 17th.  A few more days to fill your boxes with holly and jolly, how delightful!
