These refs are really starting to scare me.  Honestly, I thought it was pretty funny in the preseason, but this is getting hard to watch.  Apparently one of the refs now officiating in the NFL, the last game he reffed was a lingerie football league game.  Hell I should have applied, I used to ref little league soccer.

Arashi I don't know if you're watching the game and score but we are neck and neck.  Within .5 of a point.

You know, despite you not having two players, the rest of your team overachieved so much that I needed two receivers to score 40 points to win. And they almost did.

Do the rest of you really think this is a fair trade or am I just mad (yes, me mad)? I feel like no one else saw this.

Edible (BUDDHISM STRONG) gives WR Eric Decker and RB Ben Tate
in exchange for
Kerigis (Miracle Gnawers) gives WR Larry Fitzgerald and RB Jamaal Charles

I voted against it. I think vetos in a 10-team league take 4 votes, though.

[21:46] <Edible> It's called buying low, trading reliable starters for players that aren't performing up to their draft stock is pretty common practice
[21:48] <Edible> Charles is a gamble at best for the rest of the season, it's clear he's no longer the focal point of the offense
[21:48] <Edible> Plus he's injured still

^ To add to the above, Fitz is completely useless as long as Kolb is throwing the ball, as proved against the Pats last week.  I also should point out that Decker is averaging 8 targets a game on the Broncos, whereas Kolb targets Fitz an average of 5 times a game (a similar trend to when he was throwing the ball last year), because he tends to give up on deep plays and check down a lot.  While I won't deny Ben Tate is the backup on the Texans, he still has more touches than the average starting RB and is used in the red zone at least as much as Foster.  That's a very even trade for a guy who is now competing with two other RBs on the Chiefs, who spend most of their time passing the ball.

However, even if I think the trade was fair and the numbers add up for it, this is a for-fun league and I'm not going to try to screw anyone.  yuyukos: If you feel that strongly against it, I will leave both Charles and Fitz on the bench this week.  Let me know.

Start them if you want. It's already done and there's no undo (unless you're the replacement refs :V).
It's my opinion that:
1) Decker is a low end option at WR. Despite his high number of targets for our PPR league and the raves about his connection with Manning in the preseason, it's Demaryius Thomas catching for TDs and more yardage. I will agree that Fitzgerald's value is much lower with Kolb at QB, but he's still caught 1000+ yards 5 years in a row. He has, to me, a much higher upside than Decker.
2) Ben Tate is a fairly good value RB even though he's Foster's backup because they run the ball so much in Houston and he did get 2 TDs last week. But he's still just a backup. Jamaal Charles is the starting RB for the Chiefs, with competition yes. but he's still getting more touches than Hillis or Draughn. I would posit that Hillis only has nearly as many touches because Charles bruised his knee last week.

I voted against it too.  That's what the voting is for though.  If enough people are OK with it than so am I.

Not really, that's just 1 game.  He was still a top 5 receiver in standard leagues (barely after looking again) last year with Skelton and Kolb trading off at QB.  It really doesn't matter who's throwing LF the ball, he's almost always in the top 5 at the end of the year.

This is quickly becoming a debate of who has done the research into the issue and who hasn't ;_;

Look here.

Under Kolb, Fitz averages 4.3 receptions a game for 69 yards and 0.2 touchdowns.

Under Skelton, he averages 5.25 receptions for 94 yards and 0.75 touchdowns.

The fact of the matter is Kolb's playing style does not take full advantage of Fitzgerald's extreme talents at receiver.  He is a checkdown machine.  Skelton is more of a gunslinger and is far more willing to air the ball out.

I'm not gonna fault you guys for not liking the trade, but I think it's a lot more reasonable than you're making it out to be.

Of course you do, you got two second rounders for a backup RB and a white WR that isn't Wes Welker. >_>

Regardless, what's done is done.

I'll concede that he is a better option with Skelton but it's way too early to declare him completely useless with Kolb.  Kolb got traded during the lock out and had little off season to gel with the offense and it showed.  That said I probably wouldn't play him if I had him just yet, he's not the autostart he usually is.

E:   Wow the ref threw something on the field during the Cowboy's game in the middle of a play.  Ogletree slipped on what looked like a hat in the endzone.  Probably would have been a touchdown too.
