So yeah, my boyfriend asked me what he should draw, I suggested Momiji and he drew a nice picture I felt like sharing!

And then, I, being a selfless and wonderful boyfriend (not), I tried to help him out by editing the mouth and nose, to make them more aligned with the rest of the face:

So what do you guys think?

Edit: Forgot to mention; He never played Touhou and it's the first time he drew a character from it. He never saw Momiji either. (Which is total blasphemy)

Well, you certainly did the right thing by telling him to align the mouth and nose with the eyes; the face looks much, much better that way, I think~

I actually did it myself with Photoshop!

I'm proud~! He actually drew this for me and was a bit offended that I poked a flaw in it barely 2 seconds after seeing it, so I corrected it to prove him that the flaw was small enough for me, a complete noob when it comes to art, could correct it.

And thanks, I prefer it that way as well

Ha~! Well, sometimes, it just takes a little forceful nudging to make things right; I know (and tend to use) that method all too well myself~

I probably could've been more tactful about it though. I doubt saying ''Haha, I can already hear her say ''Mer nerm iz Mermeejee Inerbrarshmi :derp:'' is the best way to point out a slight error. Then again, he said it was his first try at drawing lolis.

Any suggestion for next time?

I really hesitated between Alice and Momiji at first, but Utsuho is a great idea too! He probably won't draw much more tonight, though.

It even makes the picture blurrier~

But yes, I'll keep Youmu in mind as well! Now I just need to convince him that drawing lolis for strangers is a good idea...

He's still insecure about his artwork, but he seems willing to draw more~ I think I managed to prove to him he wasn't terrible. We share a lack of self-confidence, so we make such a great couple! <3

It's still better than anything I could draw or anything my friend (who draws a lot no offence to her)

Don't, it took me the same amount of times to realize it as well xD what first struck me as odd at first was the face, then the slits on the sides and then, oh hey, SHE'S MISSING A LEG. :V

I just realized she may just not have any arms at all as Utsuho is known for having 3 legs.

Hmm... It really depends. The Momiji one took him about... an hour at most?

He plans on doing shading and more details on the next pictures, so it may take a bit longer.

Hmm... I'd blame a general lack of self-esteem? I'm the same, so we're pretty much complimenting each other and denying it, creating some sort of ''The hell are you talking about, I'm crap and you're awesome!'' debate every day.

He tried out Perfect Cherry Blossom and kinda liked it. He told me Letty scared the hell out of him because she was too hard. I laughed at him.

Until I realized he made his very first Touhou experience ON HARD MODO.
