Well, my leave got denied, so I cant go.

"Staffing requirements" they say. I guess it's a sign from the cosmic catgirl for me to save up for Otakon.

Oh well, I guess I can hold off until Otakon comes up. Maybe now I can use the money I had for this con to buy some more lenses for my camera.

Mima v2 is almost all ready to go. Took a crappy, poorly lit picture using my phone's camera which happened to have a 10 second timer I hadn't noticed before. Not wearing any makeup here and probably going to use a better wig. Not holding all of Orreries Sun etc. etc.

Very excited to debut at Acen. :]

So I got my Marisa costume today. The zipper's a bit screwy and got stuck, and somehow the flap on it was missing. So there was a chance I'D HAVE TO BE MARISA FOREVERRRR AUGH! But I managed to wiggle out of it. Anyway it's pretty nice, here are the picts from the seamstress. (warning, big images)

Welp, although i'm penniless and hoping that I get paid back before I go to ACen Thursday, I'll just pretend like i'm definitely going and hope for the best.

So how are we going to hook up with one another once we're there? :3 I've caught wind of two Touhou photoshoots on Saturday at 11 to 11:30 and again from 7 to 8 at the East Outdoor Wall. I probably won't be going as Nitori for the 7-8 one, because the Homestuck photoshoot is immediately before and my face/arms will be painted gray ;o

There is some sorta Touhou meet and greet featured on Thursday and 8 I believe though I'm not sure where. The SDM party is featured in the garden (wherever that is) at 9 on Friday. Then the two photoshoots on Saturday plus the panel.

Augh! I need to shower and get ready in 40 minutes!

Edit: It's all up on ACen's gatherings board. Augh! 25 minutes!

First day over. PC98 Marisa was a success. The Midwest Touhou group are crazy and awesome. Mima's costume was a bit of a maintenance nightmare but holy crap was it awesome. Dead tired, augh. Also OMG NOBU YOU ARE THE CUTEST OMGOMGOMG *SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE*!!!~~~

SDM Party was pretty good. Should've found you guys but I've never been around this many Touhou fans before.

Okay, so the road trip back was amazingly exhausting. I drove for about 13 hours, through driving rain in the mountains in PA, huge hail leaving Illinois, and grazed the hell out of a deer on I-76. I'm thinking the deer got huge grazing points too.

Oh yeah, and I drove the whole way as Momiji. I got some really weird looks when we went to rest areas. X]

Anyway, here's what pictures I took, although it's mainly misc stuff like the roadtrip back.

ACen was incredibly exhausting, and this year ranks up there as one of the best ACens i've ever been to. And this year I didn't even go to a single panel, the game room, nor any of the dances. xP

No more attending conventions without a backup change of clothes and shoes, and mundane clothes to drive home in. It sucks to stand there in your bare feet on the pavement holding a flashlight watching your friend change a flat tire because you're scared to dirty your dress.
Also, attending without backup communications and becoming a liability to everyone because of it was dumb.
I should have prepared better.
But it was fun anyway ^_^

Gosh how many more times do I have to sign up for this place. :V

But yes. I was Poverty Ninja Unzan (I forgot my brofists, and felt naked as a result) and Rinnosuke. This was my second ACen, first one was 2009. Overall, it was an amazing con with almost no real downsides other than losing one of my 2 pairs of PortaPros, not being able to get into Hardcore Synergy (I had no idea the line would get that ridiculous), and not sinking enough money into DJ Max Technika 2 ($0.75 oh gosh that's so good). Also was nice to be able to feed my Twitter addiction at downtimes.

I will post my pictures up at some point. Need to filter out a few that were either bad pictures or ones I apparently am not supposed to post. Also too many food pictures haha.

but yeah. otherwise, good times.
