>The thing lumbers forward, coming into the light.  Made of dark wood, stained with age, it is shaped roughly like a human. Its limbs are thin and skeletal, complex interlocking rods forming its hands and arms. It wears something like wooden greaves around its hips and midsection, as much a part of its body as anything. A kind of wooden spine connects that to a broad, wooden chestplate. Its head extends from this, dark and gaunt, a kind of malevolent red glitter glowing in the smoothness where its eyes should be. It's face nears several obvious segments that have been joined together, giving the look of a skull with skin stretched taunt over it. There is even something like spiky disheveled hair carved atop it, in wild bangs and locks.
>It approaches you with a smooth, easy stride, showing no awkwardness despite its hulking sized. Its eyes are locked on you.
