Keri-chan is an odd one. She is perhaps one of Ijiatsukai's most powerful youkai, with raw strength that probably exceeds that of Moerin herself. And yet, she chose to be the Tilderin manor's gate guard/bouncer/gardener/maid/general errand-girl with her powers sealed away. That scary-looking sword of hers? Oh, that's just for protection. She doesn't really know how to use it. What? I didn't say it was for her protection. It's for the protection of those who even dare consider trespassing. Plus the sword sort of keeps her hands occupied. How's that good? Put it this way. At least with that sword you'll only get bludgeoned at worst. With those hands....you'll be lucky if you get taken away in in less than 10 jars. Those kids were lucky that she was asleep, safely locked away during the idiocy outbreak incident.

That's the scary side.

She's actually very friendly and playful when unprovoked. Her innocence and gullibility is legendary. In fact, most trespassers (those who know of this little fact, at least) take advantage of this to get past. The simplest, most absurd lies will get you past the gate....provided you get over the initial shock and horror of seeing that blade of hers.

What is she, you ask? Ah, maybe a fallen goddess who has lost her identity. Perhaps a demon without a past. Maybe one like myself. You want to know? Ufufufufu...well, maybe another time...

As for why she chose to be Moerin's gate guard? Oh, long story, one worth telling, again, another time. But to cut a long story short, she loves Moerin dearly, absolutely, and unconditionally and would probably go all the way through hell and back for her sake.
