Confirming Suika's fire-breathing prowess.

>Gila Gangster: "It would be rather inconvenient, yes."
There was something here once. Wonder what...

>I do believe that Suika has a fire-breath attack using her sake in SWR/Hisotensoku.
>The parser stands corrected.

>Suika: "They stopped. Huh."
>Koishi: "Probably some security thing Patchy forgot to turn off. Okay, now that that's dealt with, try gathering again."
>Suika: Do it.
>Books: The Gathering. A book lands right in front of you.

>Yuyuko: Cease fire.
>"That was strange."
>Shiki: "Patchouli has problems with theft, thanks to Marisa. I would assume the books were a security system that Patchouli simply forgot to deactivate. But no harm done. Let us resume our search."
>Shiki/Yuyuko: Resume the search.
>You keep looking for books. You check some of the books on the ground, but their contents vary from different languages to unrelated subjects to total gibberish. Nothing you're looking for, though.
>Yuyuko asks "Wouldn't it be easier to leave it to Suika?"

>Suika: Grab that book!
>Koishi/Suika: That's two! Head back downstairs.
>Suika: Make ourselves big.
>Shiki: "Perhaps, but I do not want her to do all of the work. Also, there's a chance we might find a book that never gets to Suika because of being blocked by something, or-"
>Suika: "HEY! WE"VE GOT SOME!"
>Return to normal size.
>Koishi: "My ears hurt."
>Shiki: "Or maybe what she's found will tell us what we need to know."
>Reimu: "Right, that's good."

>Koishi/Suika: That's two! Head back downstairs.
>You head back downstairs, Patchouli is wandering around, checking on the aisles, while Reimu is standing around listlessly.

>Suika: Make ourselves big.

>Suika: Hand her the books.
>Party: Start looking through them for anything related to travel between worlds.
>You start sifting through the books for contents related to world travel. One of the books you find is completely written in symbols none of you understand, so you set that aside. The other one is something named "The Planes of Existence", and skimming through it you find descriptions of other worlds.

>Party: Look specifically for information on how to reach other worlds.
>You look through the book on how to reach other worlds. You find some info in the introduction about "planeswalkers", godlike beings who can travel other worlds, but also read that there's a ridiculously small chance anybody would be born with a "planeswalker's spark," and even less that their "spark" will "ignite." There's also a paragraph in the introduction that seems to refer to a "being that can transport itself anywhere at will by opening gaps and can be found in the plane of [scratched-out text]".

>Reimu: "Patchy, you check that magicians-only book."
>"Mrr, fine." She hovers to her desk and flips through the pages of the book uninterestedly.

>Shiki: "Unfortunately, that does not help us."

>No, you haven't.

>Party: Keep looking. Check the index for 'portals between worlds' or 'travel between worlds' or anything similar.
>You keep looking through the book. You find a section on something called the "Rathi Overlay," an event where one plane fused with another and transported all residents of that plane onto the second, larger plane. There is a slip of white paper attached to the corner of the page.

>Koishi: "What're you finding, Patch?"
>"I have not come up with anything quite yet that would make sense to you."

>"That's exactly what I'm doing."

>Party: Check that piece of paper on the Rathi Overlay page.
>You take the piece of paper. It has something written on it...
>Overlays can also happen naturally instead of artificially. They tend to happen randomly, and rarely. Unlike the Rathi Overlay, the scope of these kinds of overlays can encompass tiny areas to entire planes. A sign that this is happening include the appearance of mysterious gaps. These gaps usually consume all matter within a certain area and transport it somewhere else. Other signs of a natural overlay include the appearance of mysterious people and objects and strange places, like finding a gohei falling out of the sky in Zendikar. Mysterious people and objects are not by themselves a sign of an overlay, and should only be taken with the gaps as a sign.
