Title: Ask A Staffer Edda 11 - Nobu
Post by: Nobu on April 27, 2011, 03:10:22 PM
What you've all been waiting for, right? No dumb fishies or hobos here!

Rest assured I will answer every question that comes at me, but due to my schedule over the next couple days they will probably come in big bursts of answery goodness. Like if someone pinched the answer hose, and then let out a whole bunch at once.

If this is supposed to be a pun, I have no idea what you're trying to get at. :V

I see that you have a DeviantArt, out of curiosity, do you sketch often, or very rarely?

Not as often as I'd like to, but ideally I'll have more time to indulge once I'm done with this semester.

Strangest topping you've ever seen on a pizza?

Favorite Castlevania game, if applicable?

Why Linguistics?

Because language has always been something that has fascinated me from an earlier age, and it goes hand in hand with my interest in the academic study of humanity, specifically in the realms of culture and the mind.

Why don't you protect your cutting points?

Because you've fallen right into my trap.  :moogy:

Who drew your avatar, and where is a full version?

I'd like to hold off on answering this for a couple days, since I was planning on making a thread that'll indirectly answer both of those questions very soon :3

Why am I your favourite?

Somehow, you are granted infinite funds to spend however you desire.  What is the first thing you spend it on?

Most fond memory of MotK?

Because of that one time when we ---

I'd buy all shares of shrinemaiden.org and recraft the forum into the best alternative porn, warez, and doujin game selling site on the net. +_+

In all seriousness, end world hunger. And then soon after fund a team of scientists and researchers to research the ramifications of ending world hunger and how much sooner it'll be before the world's resources run out. But with infinite funds I could probably fund the colonization of space, so...

As for most fond memory, I don't know if this counts as 'Most fond' but is still a fond one nonetheless.. Sitting in the middle of the boonies in far north Japan by Aomori, and chatting it up on IRC and on the forums while marveling that I was in a completely different time zone than normal. :V I'll be able to better answer this question if I thought about it more, since there are a lot of memories.

Since you were one of the first janitors - how bad a shape must the shrine be in if it needs 5 people nowadays to keep it clean? :<

The truth is, SJ power is a finite source and split evenly amongst all the current SJs. Why do you think there's a bloody axe in their icons anyway? They're supposed to fight to the death and ascend to the ranks of godhood.

Me, Vic, and Matsy got along too well to fight though. :<

What's your preferred type of pizza?
Strangest topping you've ever seen on a pizza?

Favorite Castlevania game, if applicable?

I looooove mushrooms. Mushroom, cheese and pepperoni is a staple. As long as there's no pineapple, yech.
Strangest toppings: Here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz2SxGNy-Mw&feature=channel_video_title).
Favorite Castlevania would be the first one. But there are a lot of Castlevanias I haven't played that have been released in the past 5-10 years. .

What about the Janitors who aren't currently using the tag? Do they share the power still?

Favorite Pokemon NPC and why?

Why Suwako?

Yes, but it's diluted!
Actually the real reason is that Matsuri broke all the spare brooms we had, so they're all sharing the rusty models we had stored in the shed.

Iris! Because I have a thing for the loli high energy types. Which has a lot to do with why I like Suwako as well. But with Suwako, it's a bit more than that. She's fun, carefree, slightly impish, and not an idiot. She's dynamic, vivid, and can be portrayed in a lot of different ways that aren't completely out of character for her. It's not so much that she takes nothing seriously, but you get the impression that she's transcended beyond mere mortal concerns. I still feel like I haven't explained my love for the character, but this is my stab at it.

Is this a question?

Serious one here: How long have you known about Touhou?

This question makes my brain hurt.

As for how long I've known about Touhou... 3-4 years now? My first encounter was with a video of IN Extra stage on Youtube, and a friend of mine at school playing it on his laptop.  I started playing Touhou right around when 10 came out, and liked it enough to register here in August of 2009.

NOBUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Non-serious question: When a girl walks in with an itty-bitty waist and a big round thing in your face, you get ___________.

Serious question: Can you think of a defining moment in your life that taught you more about yourself?

....far far away. Jesus christ woman what is wrong with your waist D:

Defining moment, eh? Hmm... probably a couple/few years ago when I learned more about and solidified my own personal philosophy about live, love, and
relationships. It's a story that has a long build up I don't really feel like recalling here, but it involved me and another person in a car having a conversation.

Why am I your favourite?

Should I change Trials and Tribulations of a Makai Butterfly's status to "neglected FOREVER"?

Because you actually still remember that story in progress ;_;

I might have some time in May between graduation and moving out where I can work on it. *crossing fingers*

Why are you such a slut?

Because people like you come calling~ <3

What's your ideal living environment?

Ever seen a tornado before?

How big is your stack of anime DVDs (you have one, right)?

Ideally living with some people that I get along with well, in a city or college town. I'm pretty social and love cooking for people. It'd be great if I could have a nice big area I could rat-proof so I could get a bunch of rats and free-range them like this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iowElZ1uBak).

As for tornadoes, never in person.

As for anime, I have a small stack. I'd say it's only about a foot or two tall from the floor. I actually have a bunch of anime on VHS still (but no VCR to play them)  :]

What do you think you could cook up with these items?
  • A tin of Tuna
  • Del Monte Sloppy Joe Sauce
  • Beef Rice-A-Roni
  • Bland name Chicken-flavor Stuffing Mix

When in doubt, stir fry! :D I'd probably get a bunch of broccoli, mushrooms, and olive oil and cook them in a big wok. Leaving out the Sloppy Joe sauce mix most likely, since I hate sweetness in my savory foods.

I'll answer Shadoweh's question on my next bulk response, since I have to pack up and leave the building I'm currently in >_<

Obligatory why and how did you become a staff member?
Obligatory how did you find your way to MotK?
So what DO you do as a mod?

Well, the reason I wanted to become a staff member is because I really grew attached to the community and wanted to give back by helping out however possible. I had been considering applying for Shrine Janitor, and after Matsy had told me he just applied I decided to apply too. After a long while I requested to be bumped up to G. Mod since most of the current G.Mods had been bumped to Admin and I felt like I could better serve the community with a tag that more reflected the way I was already acting in a defacto manner.

Well, as a member of staff, so a major part of what I do is participate in discussion and bring my perspective to the table, weighing in on debates and bringing up ideas.  You can consider this sort of a 'baseline function' of anyone who carries that MotK Staff tag. As a Global Mod I can change people's tags, probate, do all the things that involve manipulation of topics and individual posts, and admonish/warn a user (and in theory be taken seriously). I'm trusted with *about* as much autonomy as any Admin, which is perhaps less than some would think, since any decisions of major import are made as a group, we either open up a full discussion in the staff forum or at the very least get a second opinion.

And believe you me, do we discuss everything to death in the staff forum before anyone sees even a hint of it on the surface. Probations, bannings, 'What do do with user X who keeps Ying", "What's the best way to do XXX". You name it, and we've probably discussed it to death.  My biggest pet peeve when I see criticism of staff is the "What were you thinking?"/"This obviously wasn't well thought out"/"Those staff bitches be tripping up on our grills for no reason". Because by then we had probably already been discussing the issue (and those discussions can get pretty heated!) for upwards of a week or more.

Why haven't you come back to Japan yet?

Do you dislike your girlfriend that much?

Bby you know I still love you  Lemme just take care of some things and I'll be sure to make it up to you when I come visiting again <3

What do you think of these punks bitin' my style?

Tell you what. You hold them down while I fetch a piece of rebar, and I'll tell you all about what I think.

For the dark gods?

What was the last thing you ate?

What is your favorite car company?

What's that in your hand?

What is your least favorite number?

Are you superstitious?

Your three sizes?

Do you like spicy food?

What is your favorite color?

Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn

Last thing I ate was FiberOne Honey Oats with fat free milk. :]

I don't have a favorite car company. I've driven in the past an '88 Lincoln Town Car, a '95 Mercury Sable, and currently drive a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT (with a failing transmission gdi GM). I'd love a car that gets significantly more than 20 mpg though, whatever the company.

I have nothing in my hands (it'd be pretty hard to type otherwise y'know).

I don't think I have a least favorite number. There are a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooot of numbers that i'm indifferent about. Surprising.

I am very mildly superstitious, which has a lot to do with being suckered into the pace of a friend that is superstitious. So I usually will knock on wood whenever someone says something really dumb that I don't want happening, but it's more a quirk than something that I seriously stress out about. Knocking on wood is probably the extent that I am any kinds of superstitious.

Sizes: Self measuring I am roughly 38-33-38 apparently. I'm not very curvaceous...yet! Still holding out hope!

I looooooove spicy food, but i'm not great with really really spicy stuff. I eat jalapenos and pepper jack cheese and sprinkle red pepper flakes on pretty much everything I can though.

And lastly, my favorite color is blue. And black.

As in any favorite brands of vodka?

My other question still stands: What do you like to mix vodka with? :3

Effen! It's sooo smooth. When you first crack it open, you can seriously take a shot of that and swish it around in your mouth without it burning. And i'm not even that good with imbibing alcohol either. http://www.effenvodka.com/

I need to figure out more fancy mixes to add to my repetoire, but I typically mix vodka with tonic water or orange juice. When I'm not drinking it straight (more common).

How good are you at the Touhou games?

What's your idea of a wonderful day, from morning to night?

What're your thoughts on Obama?

I'm right at the cusp of 1ccing Normal games and Xccing Hard games. I've 1cced every Windows game on Normal, but can't do it consistently.

And hm.... I think I'll answer your other two questions on my next iteration. This took longer than I thought, and i'm running sorta late this morning. :3 Plus, it'll give me time to think of a good response to the rest of these questions.

What's your idea of a wonderful day, from morning to night?

What're your thoughts on Obama?

Honestly it wouldn't take much for me to consider a day wonderful.. a day where I wouldn't have to worry about imposing deadlines and got to spend it with people I enjoy my time with. Perhaps a romp around town or city or even just hanging around inside and playing video games or something. Looking forward to getting the opportunity to do that soon :3

As for Obama, he is a DIRTY ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT oh god why don't people see that he forged his birth certificate I mean cmon its in pdf form they didn't even HAVE pdfs in 1961

I got this random DVD from A-F for a good deal.

It contains some...scandalous actions from you.

What would you do if I spread this around to every member of this place? :3

Just make sure to tag it NSFW, and you've no issue from me. Otherwise PREPARE FOR BANHAMMER >:C

Oh hell yes, rats.

What other small animals would you want to have around as pets?

I love small animals, but I've only ever owned hamsters when I was a lot younger, and rats. I'd like to possibly own mice, chinchillas, or gerbils at some point perhaps, but I don't want to get overwhelmed and shortchange any one of them. I was considering once my new rats get settled in and I see how much time I have, to get a few mice since they wouldn't take up as much room and I could just house them in a mid-sized aquarium on my desk.

I had fun when I had four rats (only got one left, the rest died :( )

How many rats total would you get?

Why rats in particular?

What's the best name ever for a rat?

You should get another rat! Rats are very social and need companions, at least one other :C

Right now I'm considering at least 3, possibly 4 or 5. I'll be either adopting or getting them from a breeder, so it really depends on how many the rat rescue I know has and if the breeding schedules of the handful of ratteries I know match up.

Why rats? Well, my friend had mentioned that they make good pets and I've always found small animals adorable, and when I dug up more information about them the more I grew to love them. They're smart, affectionate, goofy, energetic, friendly, and sweet. They aren't douchebags like hamsters, and you can train them like they're little dogs.

As for best name, I have no idea yet. :< I'm terrible at coming up with names (partially because it takes me so long to decide on a good one).

How do you think culture is catalyst for what society dictates is beautiful (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bt9qHHFkwV4)?

In your opinion, what is the manliest thing you have done (that you'd be willing to share)?

Oh god this sounds like an anthro thesis paper. I think culture and society are both too vague of terms to where saying something like 'culture very strongly influences society's beliefs on beauty' is useful. Our beliefs and dispositions are very much shaped by the environment we are raised in. We can find evidence that on average humans may tend towards certain body proportions over another, but these effects are subtle ones.

Manliest thing, huh? Hmm.... I one saved my friend's little sister's life by catching her from falling off a patio backwards into a bed of rocks with one hand, when she leaned back too far on her chair. What was spectacular about that was that I caught her with my right hand which was holding a burger at the time, and after lifting her back up to safety realized I had shoved the burger into my pocket in the heat of the moment.

Do you have any favorite languages, or group of languages?

I don't have any favorite languages as of yet, because I feel I still know way too little about the languages of the world to arrive at a favorite as of yet.

How much you bench, bro?

Do you think you're getting a higher number of idiotic question than good ones than average?

What's your stance on the recent efforts in Cirno's?

How much stuff have you got cased from your old lab for stealing when you move to your new digs? Alternately, what did you take?

What advice would you give to aspiring technocrats?

How many 12 year olds do you think you can take at once?

I can bench like eleventy billion pounds, bro.

I don't know if my questions are more or less idiotic than average, I'd have to put everyone's questions side by side and compare. And I can find better ways to spend my time.

Re: Cirno's - The 24-hour lock was too short, and I'm not sure about the 72-hour one yet. Of course, we couldn't have known that unless we tried it out first. I was one of the staffers that thought it was a good idea to try out the new system, and I don't think there's anything wrong with trying something different to see if it works better. I think that some moderation is necessary in a forum to keep things going smoothly, and if any place could truly thrive while completely 'self-moderated' then there'd be no reason to have moderators at all.

Re: Stealing stuff - If I wanted to I could probably make off with everything that isn't bolted down. If I wanted to. I have full access and the security guards trust me. Which is great since I'm almost always in casual garb when I'm here.

Re: Technocrats - Step lightly around Hermetics, because they are easily angered and can throw fireballs.

Re: 12 year olds - It depends on how big they are, and whether I or them are armed. Assuming completely unarmed, typical 12 year olds and me in an empty room.... 6 or 7? Less if I'm not trying to actually hurt any of them.

If you were a rhythm game what would you be?

IIDX 12: Happy Sky. Because I'm so happy, obv :] That or a Pop'n game, I'm not sure which.

How good are you at Touhou fangames?

What's your favourite era of history?

If you could just observe any era of history without interacting with it in any way, what location in space-time would you choose to watch?

I'm average. I haven't played a lot of them enough to beat them or learn them very well. Haven't even gotten to Patchy's castle in MegaMari or past the Scarlets in Mystical Chain yet.

Favorite era, hmm....  I don't think I have one :colonveeplusalpha: Don't hate me.

And ooh! That's a good question. Probably either ancient Egypt at the time the Pyramids were being built, Atlantis before it went kaput, or the time when Jesus was around.

You always claimed you could play nice songs on the guitar. How about proving that now?

Sure, if you want to hear an mp3 of someone strumming G, C, and F chords for a couple of minutes. :fail:

First picks in drafting from every set before and including Ravnica? (You can leave out the sets you don't know)

Oh jeez, talk about easy questions. :P When I have more time I might answer this more fully, but seeing as i'm taking 15 minutes on this question with just Ravnica, a set I'm very familiar with, I'll just answer Ravnica commons and uncommons for now.

Common - Last Gasp or Faith's Fetters
Uncommon - Lightning Helix, Putrefy, or Moroii.

What I choose also has a lot to do with who all is sitting around the table with me, whether it's triple Ravnica or includes Guildpact and Dissention, etcetera. In triple Ravnica I'd likely try to force black since it's tied with green as the best color to work out of as a base, as you can go either B/U or B/G really easily. Or B/U/G, as I found myself doing quite often. I like red, but not in triple Ravnica. But if I crack open a Lightning Helix on the first pack... well, I can't exactly pass that up.

Who is currently your quest (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PxN31SI_TM)?

You are, Iryan. You are.

Why are you my favorite?

Beats me. Because I call you by my affectionate nickname, ntcls?

Y'know for the longest I didn't make the connection that CranialCrustaceon = headcrabs. I don't even know what to think anymore omgah ;_;

Look at nutrition labels. Just get into the habit of looking at the labels of everything you eat (or are thinking about eating). It really changes your perspective on things. If you get a lot of fast food, try making your own food at home more often. Although the ingredients may cost more than you'd spend getting a cheap fix at McDonalds or Taco Bell, you'll be able to make more food and have leftovers for multiple meals. If you're looking for cheap fruits, bananas are cheap as hell. Vegetable-wise, carrots are pretty cheap, and you can make a pretty filling vegetable stir-fry with noodles, brocolli, onion, mushrooms, garlic, and whatever other vegetables you choose to put in there.

I don't have much in the ways of natural curves (and the corset I have is a little big so doesn't help as much as it should >_>;). I'm not taking any drugs currently, but I have been considering going that route and partially transitioning to find the happy medium between male and female I feel I should be at. It's a costly startup investment though, and I can't really do much until I start grad school and can save some of my paycheck so I can afford it down the line. Also, I'm still not quite 100% about the idea since there's a small part of me with reservations about the fact that mtf transitioning hormones make you infertile. It's not an easy decision to just give up your ability to have biological offspring for the rest of your existence, even if you're like me and support adoption and see a childless adulthood as a very possible future anyway.

Favorite book? American Gods is definitely up there, and i'm a sucker for the old Redwall series that I read back in Jr. High. Loved Harry Potter, and I have a large booklist to catch up on. Any recommendations for must reads?

As for Homestuck, top 5 is Terezi, Dave, John, Jade, and Karkat. Sorry Rose. :<

I read XKCD, Penny Arcade, and El Goonish Shive, but I'm terrible at staying updated for most webcomics with the exception of Homestuck.

What do you think of me in general? :3

That image with you in the karate gi is probably the first thing that pops up in my head when I think of you. :V That and Koishi, obv.

If you could change any historical event to have an outcome of your choosing, what would it be and why?

What song do you like that you probably shouldn't like?

I wouldn't. Because I wouldn't want to be responsible for the consequences, and there are no guarantees that I didn't make things worse in the grand scheme of things due to the butterfly effect.

What's the craziest thing you've ever done?

What's the smartest thing you've ever done?

What's your crowning moment of awesome?

What would you like to achieve, as a human being?

I'll have to think about those for a bit. My brain is kinda mush right now, and nothing interesting stands out in my mind. But I can list some desired achievements at least.

Become a world-renown scientist/philosopher/polyglot/awesome person, have my own Wikipedia page, get interviewed by Terry Gross on NPR, be interesting enough to have a story on The Story (NPR again), become fluent in multiple languages, do parkour, play multiple instruments well, do some awesome cosplays... the list goes on and on.

So why do you like me better than the rest of these hose brains, eh?

How do you approach problems when moderating?

When am I getting those scandalous pictures?

If you could change one rule in the forum, what would it be?

What kinda games you like?

When you gonna get over here and kiss me, ya big lug?

Because I judge people entirely by the size of their post count. Now c'mere, ya big lug.

I approach problems through two questions. First, 'What actions can be taken that will reach the desired outcome?" Rules and prior precedent are good heuristics to go by, but can't just be applied wantonly and blindly without at least chewing on the individual case for a bit. Second, "Which action would be result in the lightest affront on all sides, while still being effective?"

When I take them. Maybe after ACen. :P

One rule? Hmm... probably the image size/dimensions limitation to be a little bit higher or not set in stone so there's a little bit of flexibility depending on the individual case. Keeping the current dimension rules but bumping up the image size limits to 500kb or something. Frequenting Tumblr has conditioned me to love the spontaneous animated GIF. :derp:

As for games, I love RPGs (especially Tactical RPGs), fighting games (when I actually have people to play against who take things seriously, and I get beyond the complete noob phase), and whatever genre Monster Hunter counts as. Also rhythm games like Pop'n, IIDX, DDR, etcetera.

Look behind you.  :yukkuri:

When won't you not want to not do nothing?

How many "bu"s are in your name anyways Nobubububububububububububububububububu(bu)?

Always.

The most iterations of 'bu' I've ever used in anything remotely serious is two.

What would you say is the most annoying sound in the world, that would motivate you to stop whatever you're doing and pour all effort into finding out WTF it is and how to stop it from continuing?

I don't know! I can tune things out pretty well. Perhaps if someone was inscribing the Magna Carta on a chalkboard using a fork nearby.

I won't lie, I'm pretty terrible at keeping up with books myself. I usually just go :effort: and screw around on the computer to pass the time, so I end up reading more educational/boring books than I do for entertainment. Cooking, socializing, enjoying peoples company, reading, drawing, smokin phat blunts wit mah homies 420 whut whut. Video games, the usual stuff. When I get pet rats again, caring for those. :3

It's not a daisy, it's a snake gourd flower Actually, the snake gourd flower is probably my favorite. It's so cool looking!

Education could have been better, could have been worse. Probably would have learned more if I payed more attention or committed myself to classes more, but I learned what I needed to learn. I look forward to learning more about specifically the things i'm interested in, and taking those to their boundaries and forging my own path ahead for other people to learn from. :3

Pfffffhahaha, the boob grab was too much for imageshack I guess, dumb 403s. Though compared to some of the stuff I have on my own imageshack, pretty tame.

Also dammit for finding my sekrets. >:( I knew it'd have to be you of all people (I did link you to that one site after all).

What would you say is the most informative course you've taken in your educational career?

My linguistic anthropology courses. I learned so much about the interesting questions you can ask when considering looking at humans through the dual lens of language and culture.

I don't have any concrete plans but there's a lot of things I'd like to cosplay. Hopefully once I manage to increase my trap level further and can do a more convincing job of things. :]

And I'd hope so, since keeping the exact same opinion of someone as the first time you've encountered them is kinda lame and/or impossible. Also don't really know what Brave New World is.

Best draft common in every set you are familiar with from Ravnica and before. Treat each set as a lone draft pool e.g. CS-CS-CS or 5D-5D-5D.

Ravnica: Last Gasp.
Coldsnap: OH GOD I REMEMBER DRAFTING THIS. Snow matters, ahaha. :v Either Ronom Hulk or Gelid Shackles.
Unhinged (Yes I've drafted this before!): Saute, or Super Size.
Mirrodin: Bonesplitter
Onslaught: Break Open Solar Blast

And I didn't really draft any other sets before. I didn't start hardcore drafting until Ravnica, sooo..

I won't lie, I'm pretty terrible at keeping up with books myself. Jellyfish. Their sole reason for existing is to scare me away from the ocean. Floating translucent stinging bastards.

:<

I cooked grilled salmon, asparagus mushroom stir fry, and baked red potato slices with chives for my mom and aunt. And stressed out over a paper due the next day. :V

Anime: Gurren Lagann and Slayers
VN: F/SN and Tsukihime.

What alcoholic beverage makes you the least sick the following morning?

I haven't found one that makes me more sick than others, but tequila surprisingly makes me not-so-sick (unless i'm still drunk the next day). The worst hangovers i've ever had are from getting drunk off beer, which is why I prefer hard liquor if I choose to drink.

I don't think this question has been asked yet (and I don't know the answer anyway)

How long have you been into Pokemon and what got you into it?

Since Pokemon Blue came out. I got into it, because well, I got Pokemon Blue and the series hooked me from there. Also Misty. >__>

Who is more moe between Grice and Austin, and why?

I have no idea what you're talking about.

Godzilla, Mothra, or Gamorah?

Cape, cowl, or barechested?

Sidekick, animal familiar, or lone-wolf?

Flying, super-fast running, or super-fast swimming?

Onions, carrots, or celery?

Your favorite number.

Godzilla. That guy is a BAMF.

King Kong would probably win. That guy is strong as hell.

X-Ray Vision. :3

Cape! Love capes.

Animal familiar.

How is this even a question of course flying

Onions are more versatile I think, and I eat them more often (though I don't eat raw ones at all!)

420. Pff. Seriously though, I don't think there's a particular number i'm attached to. Maybe my bank account pin number, because it results in money. :D

How did Sefam get permabanned? Just curious.

We actually don't like to advertise or announce it when people get probated/banned/etcetera, or just sharing information about what someone did that wasn't in the public eye already. It's a privacy issue and a baseline respect of not turning the people who've wronged into public spectacles. So we usually ignore/turn away requests of information of that type for the "just curious". It's a balancing issue of respecting privacy and not catering to gawkers, but providing ressurance to people who suspect foul play involved on the staff's part.

Usually there'll be at least a little quip in a person's personal text/custom title that hints at why a person was acted upon though. Hopefully it's enough to satisfy your curiosity, because I'm not at liberty to divulge any more information. Sorry.

Shame for Sefam.

And yes, that did satisfy my curiosity.

In any note, why Nobu?

What music do you usually listen to?

Fav bands and songs? What about movie and game soundtracks? (besides Touhou, duh)

Peeking at my Blackberry playlist I have Homestuck soundtracks, Ar Tonelico 3, Initial D Battle Stage's soundtrack, both of E.S. Posthumus's albums, Muse's Discography, a couple of albums by Spoon, and a few Touhou albums. It's getting a little stale so I'll probably change it up. I listen to almost everything not rap and country.

E.S. Posthumus does a lot of movie trailer stuff and does some of my favorite stuff. Game soundtracks-wise, FFT is probably still my longtime favorite.

H.P. Grice and J. L. Austin

I'm actually not familiar with either of them, surely due to not having taken any language philosophy courses (or really any philosophy courses at all). Though I hope to remedy that down the line.

What is the source of your avatar? :3

All in due time, child. :derp:

How many times have you accidentally caused a fire? How many of these times have it involved igniting your own person?

One time that I remember substantially, though I wasn't really the direct cause. My PC caught on fire while I was sleeping (my guess is a faulty fan shorted out and sparked a blaze). Woke up to the PC under my computer desk on fire, and luckily put it out before the desk caught. I've also had a couple of incidents in the past with gas grills and singing some of my bangs from poof exploding. :x

I'M GOOD AT EVERYTHING I'd like to think i'm adequate, just don't play them that often so its hard to say. Not so good at crosswords, and don't like them particularly much either.

Ice cold, usually with ice. I like canned beverages the best.

I use my feet to look at the screen.

Cyberpunk or Steampunk?

Coke or Pepsi?

Spielberg or Tarantino?

Brown or Ludlum? Do not disappoint me now.

I think I like steampunk a bit better.

Coke.

Spielberg.

Nope, not familiar with either. :fail:

In any note, why Nobu?

I received it as a nickname years and years ago when I met someone who thought I looked like Nobu from Battle Royale, and the name stuck among that group. The nickname was contagious, and eventually spread beyond that group to a good chunk of my friends, and it's to the point where i'm more used to it than my actual name. So it was a natural thing to start using the nickname online as well.

I believe that God exists in the hope and good things that happens to humanity, and that by not losing hope we also do her the greatest service and respect.

I tend to like stuff that smells light like the rain, or the musky stuff that reminds me of head shops and the renaissance festival.

I love me some salmon burgers :3 Mushroom swiss burgers are pretty good too, or pretty much anything with mushrooms.

Does garlic count as a fruit? Hehe~. I love strawberries and pears though, and avocados as well.

Superhero? Uhhh... good question. I don't think I have a favorite.

Favorite pizza topping is probably mushrooms.

And you! :]

Calming... hm... When I'm stressed and need to calm, sometimes I try to project myself forward in time to a point where the current stressor has long since fallen out of relevance. I say to myself, "There will come a time that regardless of this outcome, it is simply be a drop in the sea. So don't stress out so hard." I suppose this would be the same sort of mindset that makes a lot of people into nihilists, but it doesn't do that for me. Perhaps because while I understand this fact intrinsically, I also understand that life has incredible meaning within the scope of my own existence. So I shouldn't be greedy and always want it to mean more than it does. It is what it is, make the most of it. Because anything of value can be considered worthless if you set your bar high enough.

Or if you were just talking of things that are calming in and of itself... orchestra music or things that bring nostalgic feelings. Massages. A nice stroll.

Favorite video game (aside from Touhou that is) would probably be either Monster Hunter Freedom Unite or FFT. Probably, it's hard for me to choose among my favorites.

Mind you I just finished Madoka, so my answer might be subtly influenced by that :V Hmm... to improve the world, I might wish that humanity had greater empathy. I think it might help with a lot of the world's problems.

you are seriously like the only person i know that still takes that meme seriously
