Title: Touhou Flash Games General Scoreboard
Post by: Zil on November 12, 2013, 03:04:49 AM
This is a scoreboard for Touhou themed flash games. If there's a game you'd like to be included here, go ahead and suggest it. As long as it has some semblance of a balanced scoring system I'll add it.

BEVENTLAED

Play it here. (http://dagobah.net/flash/beventlaed.swf) Read the rules here. (http://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/BEVENTLAED)

Submit scores in this format:

[monospace]BEVENTLAED
Name - Score - Level - Time - Screenshot/Video[/monospace]

You'll be ranked by score. Level and time are included for the heck of it.

[monospace]

About Tenshi sometimes turning red - It's not clear that this has any effect on gameplay, and so I'll just work under the assumption that it does not. However, in case evidence to the contrary is discovered at some point, please mention if she happened to be red when you got your score, and I'll include a note about it. It's fine if you don't remember what color she was though. Like I said, I don't think it actually matters.

Is anyone going to post a score? It doesn't take that long to try this...

Or is Zil's score too intimidating so no one's even trying to challenge it? Here, aim for this one then. It took me all of one try to accomplish this, so I'm sure most of you can surpass it easily.

Karisa - 3,340,500 - 34 - 9:28 - Screenshot (http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee487/KarisaMirisame/beventlaed-3340500.png)

(Also personally I prefer Red Magic (http://chibitami.net/works/flash/redmagic/redmagic.swf), a different flash game by the same creator)

That's why I was hesitant to include my own right off the bat. Where's Shimatora, he promised he'd put one up too. :<

Also, a thought occurred to me now that you mention Red Magic. It's not like a scoreboard for these games takes up much space, so what would you think of adding it here (kind of how Shimatora has both Suwapyon games in one thread)?

I will submit later. I just wanted to get as high a score as I could. I will admit, Zil's score was pretty intimidating.

Why not? Red Magic has 4 difficulty levels, but it still shouldn't take up much space.

This thread could even be converted to a general Touhou flash game scoreboard, actually. At least for the simpler ones. For anyone looking for others to try, SomeGuy712x has a nice collection of videos here (http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9B3C932D790E183A) (mixed in with videos of the official Touhou games). Danmaku-type fan games that happen to be in Flash are probably too complex to include in a general flash game thread, though.

Cool. You can go ahead and make the changes then, if you want. You probably have a better idea of how to organize things than I do.

If you do ever add a leaderboard for Red Magic, I'm working on playing through this for a while and might submit some more entries.

I'll just add it myself, now that I have time. Un momento.

edit: Done. I'm not really sure what the best way to arrange things is so if anyone has suggestions, fire away.

Easy
I have no name - 497,895 - 70 - 35:59 - Screenshot (http://imgur.com/7T7lYqL)

First (and probably last) time playing this game...takes too long and I end up disoriented after :V  Probably would have hit 600-700k if I knew what I was doing at the start but whatever.

Try playing Hard or Lunatic, and you'll find the game is less likely to last 30 minutes.

Red Magic - Easy
Zil - 639,215 - 68 - 31:28 - Screenshot (http://i.imgur.com/4CJJHJp.jpg)

I find this game's mechanics are not very intuitive. I'll try to get better at it. I can see it being a lot of fun once you know a few tricks.
Title: Re: BEVENTLAED and Red Magic

A note about Red Magic: The only differences between difficulty levels, as far as I can tell, are your starting level (1/21/51/81) and a multiplier for your score. The multipliers don't increase with level, meaning that if you reach level 81 on Easy, you'll be gaining points at a much lower rate than if you start on Lunatic.

And yes, Easy takes a really long time. You can speed the game up though, by clicking the bar at the top to drop a row instantly, if you didn't already know.

Cool. You can go ahead and make the changes then, if you want. You probably have a better idea of how to organize things than I do.
Do you mean converting it to a general Touhou flash game thread? I would, but I don't know which games would be worth including.

Red Magic - Easy
Karisa - 697,220 - 75 - 31:15 - Screenshot (http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee487/KarisaMirisame/redmagic-e697220.png)

Not reaching the Lunatic levels? I need to relearn how to play this game.

Some random advice: unless your border of life is low, I recommend waiting for the last row to fall before clearing the tiles (then click as soon as the row lands). It's likely you'll include a few more red tiles that way, at little risk. I think the amount of life restored depends on the size of the combo, anyway.

Red Magic - Lunatic
Karisa - 801,840 - 92 - 2:43 - Screenshot (http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee487/KarisaMirisame/redmagic-l801840.png)

Panic mode. Play this if you think this game is too slow-paced. (But learn how to play on a lower difficulty first, or you won't get very far.)

Perhaps Lunatic is just really hard. I forgot how well I did in the past. I think I've reached a million in this game, but perhaps it was on Hard?

Red Magic - Lunatic
Karisa - 1,036,680 - 94 - 3:12 - Screenshot (http://i1230.photobucket.com/albums/ee487/KarisaMirisame/redmagic-l1036680.png)

Yay, 1 million!

Not sure I can quite handle the game at this speed, but I do have a general strategy. I'm trying to prevent too many white tiles from building up in any one column-- particularly the edges, where they tend to pile up. Of course, this has to be done while also forming 22+ tile formations every few seconds.

I wonder if the level caps at 99/100, or if it keeps increasing afterward.

I guess I'll post the scores I got on BEVENTLAED and Red Magic in the past here:

BEVENTLAED
SomeGuy712x - 15,788,750 - Level 66 - 13:44 - Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6QAHHb0plcs)

Red Magic - Lunatic
SomeGuy712x - 1,330,840 - Level 98 - 4:03 - Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7DAzl17XUME)

Also, in my Red Magic video, you can see that my high scores for the other difficulties are:
Easy: 739,170
Normal: 1,117,880
Hard: 1,296,440
However, I have no idea what level I was on or how long I was playing for those.

I just meant adding Red Magic, since I was going to be away for a few hours after I posted that, and didn't have much of a plan for how to do it. As for determining any future games... I guess people can just suggest things here, and if they're popular enough, we can add them. At least one possibility that comes to mind is Hopping Tenshi.

If BEVENTLAED is any indication, then it probably does go into the hundreds.

I'll include them. I can't really think of a good reason not too, seeing as there's no particular reason to demand the level and time in the first place, and the game doesn't record them for you. If you can get a screenshot showing the scores at least, I'll put that up there.

I'm not recognizing the rainbow UFO pattern fast enough. So eventually the call drops, I run out of bombs and can't match rainbow UFOs enough to restore the call, and the game ends.

By the way, what is "Ventlaed"? I know that there's "Be" as in Bejeweled there, but Ventlaed? I'm expecting a moment of derp incoming for me.
I think it's the same "V" in "NBNV" (apparently the abbreviation the Japanese use for no-bomb no-UFO). Though "Ventla" doesn't look like Japanese to me...

That reminds me, despite this game's name, I don't see much resemblance to Bejeweled. Aside from matching lines of 3, and the field refilling from the top, both of which are quite common gameplay mechanics.

Seems like level does cap at 99. That or I just happened to die there, but I find that hard to believe. It did feel like the game stopped getting any harder, which is kinda nice, especially since I felt like I could more or less handle what it was dishing out. My one big complaint about this game is it seems to be fairly luck heavy, though I died here due to panicking and losing focus, not bad luck.

SomeGuy712x - 1,534,560 - 99 - 4:33 - Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnCHVwGHdtc)

@Zil:
Yes, level does indeed cap at 99. As shown in my video here, if the level would increase again, you'll hear the "level up" sound effect, but it'll remain at 99, so it never does get any harder at that point. (Unlike BEVENTLAED-- Level 396?! Really?!)

And, yeah, it does seem luck-based. Sometimes I'll have a good game go down the tubes because the blocks I'm given end up forming tall towers, which are often fatal if I can't somehow do something about them quickly. Or, maybe the blocks given to me are just in terrible patterns in general, and I just plain run out of life before I can clean them out.

@Zil:
Whoa, geez! You didn't happen to record a video of that BEVENTLAED run, did you?
Also, do you ever occasionally run into issues where the 3 UFOs you highlight sometimes fail to clear, even if they should've?
(That's weird. How come the spell check here is saying to me that "should've" isn't a real word?)
Title: Re: BEVENTLAED and Red Magic

Unfortunately no, I wasn't streaming this time.

It's possible to skip right over a UFO if the game is lagging. That might cause what you're thinking of. For me, reducing the quality to the lowest setting stops that from happening.

Yeah, and I still encounter that problem even if I'm not recording (when I do record, it's with HyperCam 2). I wonder if it's a glitch in the computer or internet browser I'm using... (I primarily use Firefox as my browser.)

Well, I don't get it using chrome, as far as I can tell, though I usually play the exe version that you can download at the bottom of the game's description. Also if you use that you can resize the window. Making it smaller usually makes it lag less, though of course it also makes it harder to play.

I'd LOVE a hopten (http://3-me.net/flashdir/hopten/) (linky for easy finding) scoreboard, but I fear there's just as you said, not a high demand for it.

If anyone would start a scoreboard for it though and wants some scores to start with, I'd gladly offer up my old record (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,14648.msg969665.html#msg969665) as a starting point. I know some of you guys can beat that!

Actually, you know what I was wondering, can anybody start a high score topic here, as long as they are willing to keep the first post updated? I don't know. I certainly wouldn't mind making one and updating it if that's okay though. Who knows, maybe it'll bring a little more attention to the game and more people will play it.

Unless of course, we just add them in this topic right here, if you think it won't start taking up too much room. Either way works just fine.

It's been done several times before-- Shimatora's Suwapyon thread, Chirpy13's Phantasmagoria Trues thread, this thread of Zil's...

I feel like it might make more sense to have a single thread for simple Touhou flash games, though, since most of them only have 1-2 categories. But it depends on what everyone else thinks.

Edit:

Oh, I guess you edited that in while I was posting (if you're wondering why I didn't acknowledge it in my reply).

While games are being proposed, I might as well also mention Udon Gallop (http://3-me.net/flashdir/gallop/), which I recall being fairly memorable, even if the difficulty seems a bit uneven (some areas, most notably the UFO section if I recall correctly, are significantly harder than others). And I'll link Butterfly Flies For Fry (http://chibitami.net/works/flash/bfff/) since shadowbringer didn't already.

Hard to say really, whether or not a game is popular enough. That thread Sir Blueberry linked shows that there are at least people who'd play Hopten, though most probably will never find their way to this part of the site. :<

I'd be up for adding Hopten, at least, so I guess I'll do that later. I'll add my own score, maybe nag other people to add theirs. I know yorgje has a fairly insane score in the game but I dunno if we can include scores from banned users. :p

What might be nice is if there were some way to make this thread more noticeable. I'm sure a lot of people play flash games and might post things if they knew about it.

Ah, okay, cool. Thought I'd ask first anyways though, just in case it needs to be approved first or something.

But yeah, the more I think about it, the more I also feel like they would do just fine in this topic. No need to worry about too much content for the moment, that bridge can be crossed when we get there.

I think it might be fine, or at least, I can't find any official statement against it anyways. @Sakurei:
Interesting. I wonder if that's the lowest possible score that you can Game Over with in Hopping Tenshi...
Actually, this is weird. I just tried it myself several times, and had instances where Tenshi was still bouncing off of the bottom of the screen at values as high as 298 km, but occasionally I had an attempt somehow get me a Game Over at the same 292 km you got. I wonder if there's some random variable regarding the position of the ground at the bottom or something...
Title: Re: BEVENTLAED, Red Magic, Hopping Tenshi
Post by: Rei Scarlette on November 27, 2013, 06:19:21 AM
Pretty sure it depends on how high the screen has scrolled, but not necessarily how high Tenshi has jumped. Once the ground or any platform scrolls far enough offscreen, it's gone. I couldn't explain why the screen sometimes scrolls farther than usual though. I don't get it. It's not even visibly noticeable at all, and you can't tell until you get into a situation like that.

Perhaps the scrolling takes her full sprite into consideration, but the counter only considers her hitbox?

As far as I know, Denpa/DXK asked Sapz to include new scores when he was banned, but Sapz didn't add them (he did, however, remove Denpa's old scores by request). But later, Denpa's ban was changed to a probation, and Sapz then did include Denpa's scores by request.

Not sure if this was supposed to be an overall policy or just a single decision, but personally, I think it makes sense for banned users not to be able to add any new scores.

Regarding banned users' scores not being removed: well, any non-offending posts they have aren't deleted either. I don't see any inconsistency between that, and keeping old scores but not adding new scores.

To think I can't get past this same spot, every time... Ugh. But the game is still quite fun.

It's the (spoilers)
stupid gaps that get me. some of them blink open and closed like eyelids. Naturally, you can't stand on the closed ones.

If videos would be preferred for first-place entries, I can try to get those, but I can't find a good (and free) program that would record flash games. What I'm using now only seems to detect actual windowed or fullscreen games.

lol, updated.

I suppose videos are technically preferable but they are by no means a requirement, so don't worry about it. If you really want to record though, I'd recommend OBS (it's what I use) or some other live streaming software, like xsplit or ffsplit or whatever, since they seem generally more capable of capturing whatever you want than most dedicated game recording programs.

There's also Debut which is extremely easy to use and can capture pretty much anything, but I find it to be more than my computer can handle most of the time. But then, my computer sucks.

Nothing wrong with posting new scores, however negligible the improvement.

It would be appreciated if you submitted them in the requested format, though, with the screenshot at the end of the line, since it makes it easier to copy/paste your scores... oh wait, having the screenshot/video at the end of the line wasn't actually listed in the submission format in the first post. I guess that should be fixed for consistency.

Oh, of course. I'll keep that in mind~ I'll format it properly then so that it can be simply copy/pasted over the old score.

Did anyone figure out what purpose the Red Tenshi (http://i.imgur.com/CY3rLHF.png) serves, or under what conditions will she appear instead of our standard blue one? I haven't really noticed anything yet, and she's so uncommon, I can't really test it either... Also, I got this score with Red Tenshi when she showed up, but I'm not sure if we should add it to the OP because of that? After all, I have no idea whether there's some sort of advantage or not.

I thought it made sense to have Yuyuko chasing both food and Mystia in the icon (it took surprisingly few screenshots to get one that worked). Mystia is a bit more prominent than I'd like, but 200x80 is rather small compared to the game's character sizes...

Alright so, I definitely voided whatever warranty I may have had (if any) and any chance of getting tech support for it in the future, but I went ahead and hacked my screen recorder to ignore all it's old directions and just capture my entire screen instead. Surprisingly, it works, and I was able to cut it into this little .gif thingy (http://i.imgur.com/uIfP4Ss.gif) too. So my next score will probably have a video to go with it. I'll include a plain old SS too though, because my luck with getting high quality videos up is... uh, not that great.

Mind? Not at all, in fact, I'm glad. I have this habit of calling myself a terrible artist, and I'm never happy with anything I draw.
But if something I do is worth copying, even if it's so simple as a small icon with a border, maybe all of my things aren't worthless after all. Maybe I should stop being so negative about it all the time and rethink this.

That is my personal favorite border style, as can be seen in my current avvy and some (http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/ii564/SirBlueberry96/Fire%20Emblem/lucina_sig.png) of the other (http://i1260.photobucket.com/albums/ii564/SirBlueberry96/Touhou/mokou_avatar.png) things I use (http://i.imgur.com/kMwUzQm.png).
notice how 0% of the character artwork in them is mine, and I only just slapped on simple backgrounds or borders. ;-;

Okay, the recording works fine, except that suddenly and randomly I'll get some input lag and then jump right off the platform I had just landed on. Not cool. Well, for now a video will have to wait, because I can rarely even make it past the UFOs like that. Now I'm reminded that my old Mystical Chain video also went super-laggy somewhere in the middle.

For now, I cannot improve this further. The
gaps that start appearing somewhere around 29~30,000
is just too difficult for me.

This sort of back-and-forth score posting is fun. I wish the main-game Touhou scoring threads were more like this.

Very much so. Even when I'm not playing, it's fun just seeing all of your scores approaching so quickly. Go go go!

@SirBlueberry: It's nice when someone acknowledges something you've done, isn't it? I wouldn't say I'm anywhere close to a good artist, though; you probably have more experience than I do. But I am good at examining existing patterns and copying them, however useful or not that skill is.

I couldn't say for sure. It's possible that I have more experience, but it's what I do with it that counts. And that's "almost nothing". Knowing how to copy existing patterns is very useful IMO, though.

Well I streamed it but it seems twitch didn't archive it for some reason. Due to that I don't even have a screenshot of the game over screen. I do remember though that both time and level were slightly less than they were for my previous score.

Maybe it'll show up in the archive if I wait a bit...

This isn't a new high score, but I thought I'd mention that I got the red Tenshi to appear in Hopping Tenshi once on a recent attempt: Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IboeVNl6RaU)
(Too bad that run kind of sucked due to an early screw up on the satellites.)
It doesn't appear to me that the red Tenshi has any special gameplay functions. Just looks like a palette swap and nothing more, kind of like with shiny Pok?mon.

Alright, awesome.

BFFF
SomeGuy712x - 10293.6 - Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPlRD4zmbkU)
SomeGuy712x - 11635.0 - Screenshot (http://bin.smwcentral.net/u/12382/BFFF%2BHigh%2BScore%2B11635m.PNG) (Achieved on the Wii)

Now, here's the thing about my current scores. Shortly after I made the video shown there, I achieved a higher score when playing BFFF on my Wii (it's one of the few flash games that works properly on the Wii), and the screenshot shows that score in the leaderboards at 49th place (at the time I took that screenshot-- now my Wii score is in 50th place at the time of this post, and will be knocked off the leaderboards with just one more score that beats it).

One thing that bothers me about the BFFF leaderboards is that the current top 38 scores (at the time of this post) appear to be really abnormally high, like mostly well into the millions (and TLE's score of exactly 24000.0 in 39th place seems suspicious too), and I'm wondering if they all hacked/cheated their scores in somehow, or if there's a glitch or something in the game that I don't know about that can allow for such ridiculous scores... If anyone knows how such scores were gotten (legit or not), let me know!
Title: Re: Flash Games General Scoreboard
Post by: Zil on December 09, 2013, 07:20:00 PM
I'm pretty sure scoreboards like that are usually full of hacked scores. It's the case with like every flash game ever.

Also, I didn't actually notice this game gave you a level count, nor did I see that there was an Extra mode. I'll include those as I did with Red Magic.
Title: Re: Flash Games General Scoreboard
Post by: SomeGuy712x on December 09, 2013, 07:54:21 PM
Well, I don't know about the leaderboards of most other flash games that I've played, but it was really obvious that something was screwy with those BFFF scores, so I just had to mention it.

Oh, and I had forgotten about the level count, but I know for sure that I reached level 50 with my Wii score, which is the highest level in the normal game.

...Oh, yeah. I had forgotten about BFFF's Extra mode too. I think that same video has my highest Extra score as well:

BFFF - Extra
SomeGuy712x - 1061.4 - 55 - Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NPlRD4zmbkU)

Too bad the game doesn't keep separate track of players' highest Extra scores...

One more thing:
In addition to Udon Gallop, would you consider putting Fla-Fla Flan (http://chibitami.net/works/flash/fla2flan/index.html) here as well?
Title: Re: Flash Games General Scoreboard
Post by: Rei Scarlette on December 09, 2013, 08:03:24 PM
Since you brought it up, I decided to take a quick look inside the games. Well, I wasn't expecting there to be much (if anything) to prevent hacked scores in flash games, especially free and online ones, but it turns out most of these are even easier to hack than I imagined. (http://i.imgur.com/4yOjQHd.png) (I ran the game offline to prevent that from being adding to the ingame rankings)

Now, there's no clear "HACKED" label over them unfortunately (aside from mine lol) but as Zil said, it's definitely a very common thing. Any suspiciously large score jump at high levels can be safely assumed as all hacked beyond that point. Because really, using BFFF for example, how can NOBODY have a score that fits in between 24000.0 and 430189.0? You either do nearly 18 times better, or don't beat 24000 at all? That's ridiculous. :V Even the jump up to 24000.0 is suspicious as you said.

Title: Re: Flash Games General Scoreboard
Post by: Zil on December 30, 2013, 03:20:22 AM
Once again, I was unaware of the existence of the extra mode. I'll add that right away.

About making a distance scoreboard though, I'm kind of against it. A few of the games here have some measure of how "far" you got, aside from the actual score. I've been including those numbers alongside the scores without making separate tables for them, and I'd like to stay consistent with that.

Also, does Tewi have any effect on anything? If not, I don't think I'll bother making a note about it.

edit: Checking your video description, it seems she does. Do you think the characters should be ranked together then, or should I make separate tables for each of them?
edit edit: Seems Karisa ninja'd me. :v Though my question remains about keeping the characters separate.
Title: Re: Flash Games General Scoreboard

This one replaces SirBlueberry in the list. For anyone who didn't see about that change, I am the same guy (see my nick below) but no longer wish to use that display name at all. I've hated it for years. I would really, really appreciate it if my name could be adjusted in the score lists, but I'll understand if you'd prefer to keep it how it was to avoid confusion or something.

This is very likely my final hopten score. In all this time I have not been able to beat my old score or even come close except for just this once with a lucky string of platforms that were very nicely lined up in a row. I believe I am at the absolute limit of my hopping ability, here. The chance of me ever beating this is incredibly unlikely, I am just horrible at the kind of platforms I need to jump on past this point. Perhaps I'll try to get better at some of these other games.

I know I said I wanted to record my scores, but I never did solve that input-lag while recording. Guess my old PC just won't handle that.

Edit: Thank you!

Well anyway, nice score! It's interesting how that score is 1 less than the 15th power of 2. I'd wonder about whether that was a score cap if it weren't for the much higher scores on the game's online leaderboard, so I guess you landed on 32,767 by pure chance.

It's a long story, but over the years I've managed to build up several reasons to no longer like that name. I went into a bit more detail on that here (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,16101.0.html), the part about my name is resized and striked out since I've come to some sort of a solution, but the original text remains.

About the score, thank you ^^ That is a pretty interesting fact about the score. Maybe the platforms are just distanced that perfect amount from each other, and missing that particular jump gets me at that score? Or... no, that can't be it. Sometimes you can land on a platform halfway through it's hitbox (most noticeable with the satellites, which messes up my timing frequently) and end up with slightly different scores, so I guess that perfect distance thing wouldn't work out that way if my jumps aren't all landing perfectly on the top of the hitboxes. I guess it really was just pure chance that it ended up that way, after all.

I don't know what happened to the Chibitami site recently, and that saddens me, since it had a lot of good Touhou flash games. At least Hopping Tenshi and Udon Gallop are on a different site (3-me.net) which is still up. Let me see if I can find those Chibitami flash games elsewhere...

Ah, Dagobah's got them! Here are the links:
BEVENTLAED (http://dagobah.net/flash/beventlaed.swf)
Red Magic (http://dagobah.net/flash/redmagic.swf)
Butterfly Flies for Fry (http://dagobah.net/flash/Butterfly_Flies_for_Fry.swf)
Fla-Fla Flan (http://dagobah.net/flash/Flandre_Game.swf)
(The first post should probably be updated with these new links.)

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like any high scores that you've achieved on the games on the Chibitami site get transferred over to Dagobah (which means you'd have to reunlock Extra in Butterfly Flies for Fry and Fla-Fla Flan). Also, the online ranking for Butterfly Flies for Fry doesn't appear to work on Dagobah either.

Not even certain if people are playing these Flash Games anymore, but I thought I'd introduce one more to the list: MARIPPY (http://dagobah.net/flash/Touhou_Marippy_english.swf). It's a MAPPY clone, except the plot seems more fanon based with Alice being obsessed with Marisa. I'm not exactly a big fan of that part, but because I enjoy MAPPY, I tried anyways. After about seven or so minutes, I came to a grand score of 39370 (http://i.imgur.com/3Y3XGfQ.png) (which I don't really think is too impressive myself, but eh). Don't let the score intimidate you, it's really not going to be difficult beating it.

I retried this, since I recalled it being something like magical drop. I guess it's vaguely similar. There are elements to it which I think are annoying, but it's still pretty good. I might play it some more. The thing about puzzle games like this is that they tend to get more fun as you get better at them, so it's hard to tell what's secretly awesome and what's obnoxious through and through.

Sorry for the triple post, but may I suggest Nize Festival (http://dagobah.net/flash/Project_Nize_Festival.swf) or would that be better off in another thread?

I've played that game before. While the patterns tend to be easy and frequently safespottable, and it borrows quite a lot from IN, it does have a decently complex scoring system, in the style of official games.

Though it raises the question of how its categories would be organized, seeing as just like IN there's 4 teams + solo characters... I suppose it could be limited to 1 category per difficulty.

As for triple posting, you know, there's an edit button...

I added it. I think we can just separate difficulties and rank all characters together, yes.

Also, I'm thinking I might put the games in alphabetical order, and maybe add some kind of index.

I was afraid that no one would notice the edit.

Edit 2: A few sentences about this run. I messed up TdI's third spell safespot, but bombed very little compared to previous runs. And I captured all but one of her last spells. (Seriously, "3iVESTAR"?) I also chose 6B since TdI has more safespots than Chota.

Well, if Project Nize Festival is in, then I may as well post this:

Project Nite Festival - Lunatic
SomeGuy712x - 1,790,536,540 - Cb - Han Solo - Video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tpQfPo1BE50)

(Actually, this should be called Project Nite Festival. It's erroneously called "Nize" on Dagobah, probably because that "t" almost looks like a "z" on the title screen.)
Title: Re: Flash Games General Scoreboard

That makes sense. I was wondering what "nize" was supposed to be.

It'd probably be a good idea to include the secret Phantasm (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uasm4E-F8RI) too-- it's technically accessed from Extra, but splits off early in the stage if you meet the requirement for it, changing the displayed difficulty in the process.

Also, there should probably be a specified way of listing solo characters, since (as far as I know-- they might be in the dialogue) they don't seem to have official names.

What about "Unfocused"/"Focused" or "Left"/"Right"?

I think do team name followed by either L or R for left/right, at least for now.

And added phantasm as well.

Try to end attacks when there are lots of bullets on the screen, and make sure to get as many point items as you can.

Zil looks after this leaderboard, not myself nor Karisa. (At least I don't think Karisa does!)

Also yes, worked that out pretty quickly. Spent the first few credits testing what earned points such as bombing, graze, the usual suspects.

EDIT: Main question I had was which Stage for gives the most PIV from ending attacks. I presume 6b is definitely the one that gives more score?

You have to get point items, and don't want to bomb.

I'll try to stream Extra tomorrow maybe. As with the other chibitami games, this seems to hit a limit in difficulty after about 10 minutes (and immediately on Extra), and since surviving at that point isn't too difficult, this could get silly very quickly.

Yeah, I also think the game's difficulty maxes out at the 10-minute mark. Flan didn't seem to get any more wobbly after that, and no new crystal colors appeared for me at the 15-minute mark.
