A quick last run. I don't know why I was chasing after red and green UFOs in stage six when I should have been trying to fix the issue of not being at max power. Not like I'll actually need a whole lot of resources for the final battle, right? No item cache from Nue.

First time supergrazing endstage Ichirin's opener in the run before and it failed miserably. I figured this run I'll graze it until I die then finish the opener the regular way. Instead there were no deaths but the eye grazing was a total failure. Miraculously failed Byakuren's second spell.

Oh yes, some odd 13,000 graze and 66,000 item value.

I ended up with 0 time to spare to restart, so the only EZ run that ever made it past Ichirin for my perfectionism... was not perfect. At all. And stage 4 onwards is terribly shameful - I blow every damn Blue UFO opportunity really in 4-6, except one or two. As a result, a 50k point value goes to Complete Waste

I'm ashamed, but, here they are. Marisa A is even my character of choice for UFO... T.T;

All this graze comes from a neat trick I found near the beginning that utilizes MarisaC's bombing. Oh, and Parsee Opener being not-fucking-rage for once.

Also, MarisaC Bomb is the greatest thing ever for deathbombing. Saves your ass for a moment and Supernatural Barrier effect should you continue to fuck up 8D

I know people can beat that but that'll probably be my entry for SA Lunatic (for now?)

Serious-ish run. Well, that sucked a lot. What a letdown. I guess it wasn't half-bad, but what gets the serious tag? When you get that rushing feeling, pressure building up, but in this case it was 'yeah...I tripped everywhere and I'm waiting for the run to finish'.

Going to forsake PCB scoring for once. The result...wasn't too far off from what it would have been had the regular scoring run played out as intended. Mostly from having no idea what I'm doing. I'm only proud of dying at the beginning of stage six then destroying most of the fairies for mass borders. Only two went off when they all vacuumed in, though. Probably because I died too late and missed some of the fairies, possibly ones carrying a large stock and the large hit to the cherry value due to all the failed spells.

This is pretty much the worst run ever; I'm still getting used to Marisa's movement speeds. At least the spells after my game over are mostly terrible for grazing anyway.

The bomb is actually somewhat useful for learning to graze the non-cards, since spamming border bombs will give more practice time than constantly clipping. Unfortunately, Genetics is stupid at < 1 power, and I missed out on a few hundred easy Philosophy graze points due to my early death. It would be nice if I could safe spot Bumper Crop WITHOUT having to kill myself to reset my horizontal position.

Should've practiced ~~Stage 4~~ everything, Stage 4 in particular though. I'm going to be kicking myself over this now. There's still plenty of room for improvement here. Accidentally timing out Spell Cards instead of finishing them off closer to the timer happened more than once too. At least grazing the suns went alright. Managed to get into the blind spot for Utsuho's opener twice IIRC.

Copying the scorerunners for Parsee's opener isn't such a bad idea. The risk is pretty high for a petty hundred or so Graze though. Also, Stage 5 was pretty on and off.

I'll see your estimate and raise it up to 42K. For this run there was about a 4K graze difference from the WR after the first four stages. Ghost Wheel suicides were poorly timed and some other stuff like finishing with spare lives. Safespotted the opener once.

there seem to be lots of planning (potential graze sources across stages and bosses) and execution demands (everytime a shmup demands me to not only dodge the bullets, but to graze them, it represents to me an additional task, it's a bit distracting as I'm led to watch out for the bullets around me instead of anticipating the possible paths that I should follow, and the bullets' paths, it's frustrating to lose lives that way, and I'm not yet familiar with the graze hitbox vs. the inner hitbox).
Like I said in the irc channel, grazing is a reason why I restarted quite a lot of times after dying in stage 1 in Raiden Fighters Jet (and I didn't graze past that point, ever, because there's so many other stuff past that point that can ruin my playthroughs)

I was originally aiming at 6k, but during this run realized I could even get to 10k. However, ineffective bomb usage on stage 2 and at least a couple of totally avoidable deaths prevented me from reaching that.

Garlyle, you might want to check this replay out and see if it's of any use to you. I don't think anything I did would be difficult to reproduce.

Nevermind UFO Lunatic, this was a nightmare. I've never been happier to return to Easy and Normal. First 1CC attempt with Marisa in this game makes me feel half as capable with dodging. Okay, that's not so fair comparing shot types without the same ease of handling.
