But I'll do the tiebreaker challenge after my afternoon nap, unless you guys come to a resolution before then.
I'll give you guys until around 6:00 PM my time to come to a tiebreaker-free resolution, okay?
I'm posting this at 1:44 PM my time.
If there's no resolution, we leave it up to the dice.

Well, this talk of a platypus youkai actually makes me want to not use her as the MC, but rather, as a secret bonus~ :3
When, or even IF you find her is all up to how you all play.

Besides, I'd have to draw up a totally fresh draft for almost everything.
That'd mean at least 1-2 days of inactivity from this project.
And as we all know, 1-2 days can make or break a starting text adventure.

How about we just get rid of the platypus idea and stick with the given options? I'd assume a "beast" to not be something that lays eggs.

Okay, since there's so much fuss over the subtype, I'm going to just out and out retcon them almost completely.
As Keine would say, "Subtypes? They never existed, did you hit your head on something?"
That does not however apply to magicians however, they still have subtypes.

So instead, we'll just have dice decide from a set pool of 6.
And the previous tengu, nekomata, and kitsune types will be among those.
Beast type youkai is now a larger, Family Type.

Tengu-Wolf
Dog Type

This Will Be Added To the Guidelines Post To Prevent Further Confusion.

Parser's Note: I realize now that I was too ambitious with the youkai part of the character generation, had I known so many would actually go a bit too obscure with their choices, I would have toned it back.

One problem, I nixed subtypes for all but magicians, they never existed for the others.
...Except maybe Tengu, but that's two separate types, so it's usual.
And plant has been retconned into flower.

Well, wolf tengu affords you similar abilities as Momiji at outset, though they're several levels lower than hers at first.
For example, her Long Sight power comes in at Rank A(Goes from novice, to F, then E, and all the way to A, and then through 9 to 1, like mabinogi).
Whereas the player-owned one would start at Rank D.

While being a flower youkai would afford you somewhat similar abilities as Yuuka's only much weaker, and lacking the spark skill.
For example, Yuuka's life-based skill, Farming/Gardening, comes in at the maximum rank, R1.
The player-owned version would be quite a bit weaker, due to being a relatively newborn youkai, only around Rank E at best, to signify their newness.
There will be more details depending on what youkai type is chosen.
