I have Touhou EoSD and I'm trying to get it to work, but it wont work! D:
Is it because my computer card doesn't have DirectX 9.0? D:

No Error shows up, the problem is whenever i start the game, the menu to start the game never comes up. you can hear the game, press the start keys it will take you to the game but you an see it ;A;

EoSD through StB are Dx8-based games, so Dx9 support shouldn't be that important. What're your hardware specs, specifically your model of videocard?

Ai, i dont know alot about my computer but i know its really old, it doesn't even have Pentium >.<

Its a old Celeron computer, no 3D video card.

What video chip does it have, at least? You definitely do need basic 3D hardware for Touhou games.

Like i said, i don't really know x.x it says some of the stuff it has on the front of the computer, would that help?
Ai, My version of Celeron can play at least Pentium 1.0 EoSD needs Pentium 500. The only thing i could think that doesn't make it work is the DirectX, i know my computer doesn't go up as high as 9.0 maybe 7.0 or 8.0

So i tryed to play EoSD again, and itryed out the japanese version, and i error came up, but no error with the english version, is there something wrong with it?

Okay, here's what you do. Download this, and extract it somewhere. Run the "cpuz.exe" program, click the "About" tab, click "Save Report (.TXT)" and save the file. Open the file in Notepad, and copy all of it's contents. Then go to Pastebin, paste in the contents and click "Submit", and link the Pastebin post here.

Aw'right, software-wise you're perfectly capable of running Touhou games. On the other hand, your videochip (Intel i845GL, a part of your compy's motherboard) cannot do any sort of 3D graphics whatsoever. Since your computer's so dated as it is, I'd really recommend upgrading to faster hardware at some point, if you wish to play Touhou games.

Ai, at least i should be getting a new computer soon.
But i don't get how it started if i cant play it?
How come the English patch version worked but not the Japanese version?
I proably shouldn't go out and buy a new computer, since there so much money >.<
Plus my computer can run simple 3D graphics, atleast it can run games that dont need a 3D card.

The games do require 3D graphics hardware for the very things that're breaking. You may be able to get very basic 3D games working that may be able to solely run on the CPU alone, but you definitely need a Dx9-capable videocard for Touhou games. You won't spend much money at all to get to the level of playing Touhou games.

As for the language issue, you need to install Asian Text Support in Windows, see here.

I already have Asian text installed, i was reading the requirments for the game, but it says 2D >.<
In CA everything is expencive.
I've been albe to run a few 3D games on my computer, but they run quite slow, is there anyway to fix that?

Okay, so you're saying you can open the game, but the window won't restore itself if you click on it? If that's the case, all you need is Sizer. extract that somewhere, run it, right click the tab on the taskbar find "Resize/Reposition and pick a window resolution. Should fix itself.

The problem is after i open the game, you can't see the menu, even is you click in and outside the window it wont show up.

I'll definitely say this is from a lack of hardware 3D graphics. Touhou games rely on hardware texturing for in-game sprites and menus, and the backgrounds are in 3D themselves. Your videochip provides nothing more than rudimentary 2D functions.

If you installed the English patch, play with the settings in custom_e.exe and see if you can figure something out. I wouldn't expect a whole lot though, especially with a slow CPU and limited memory.

EoSD (and Touhou games in general) only look 2D, they're very much coded as 3D games. They don't need a whole lot of graphics power, but they definitely need it.

It happens, if it's old enough. Just make sure your new compy has decent graphics power. ^.^ Hope you get the upgrade soon.

Mine is quite old, I'm pretty sure it will work, if it can run like Halo on it, it proably could run Touhou ^^
