Right, I'd be willing to give Suika or maybe Sakuya a shot, but it'll have to wait until Sunday at the earliest, and more likely Monday or Tuesday night.  Work is not being so nice.  Also, what exactly is the IRC channel?  Keep in mind that I have just about NO proficiency with using IRC whatsoever.

Sure I'll set you up on or near Sunday so that you can make your run. You'll have three days then to do your run and post your outcome from the run. :P

Also as for the irc channel:

Connection: irc.dejatoons.net
Channel: #touhou

Uh, I've been having trouble logging in to the IRC server, it tells me that the hostname couldn't be found, and just in case, I tested irc.dejatoons.net but I got a rather funny permaban.

I believe mibbit client is perma-banned on dejatoons. If you don't mind putting up with mIRC, I can show you how to reset the registration countdown. Otherwise use chatzilla (Firefox add-on) or something else.

Don't worry, I already made my run. I'll see what to do for my next run.
Speaking of runs, Mine starts with Suika on the first floor of the Snake Pit, but I'm reminded that Suika had died twice already here, so it's time to return to the Lair.

Totaku reminds me that Ramus' Lair run stopped right where I standed (Floor 2 of the Lair), so it was time to explore some more. So, I begin to lurk around, murdering everything on sight (Even in situations where common sense would tell you to run).

Eventually, I went into this room, thinking that it would have some nice loot.
WRONG
it was a room filled with Oozes, Jellies and an Oklob plant. And I mean Filled. So we run back from the passage where I came from, and thanks to a bolt trap, it all suddenly became a Conga Line.

After delivering some Oni-induced justice and retreating (We still can't face that Oklob plant), it's time to move on. Yet, on the next floor I got a nice welcome...

Nothing a little stairdancing can't fix.

After advancing some more (And facing that exact same situation twice), I find the entrance to another branch, the Swamp!

Yet there's still more to explore in the Lair, so We'll keep exploring here for now.But on our way back...

ZOT TRAP TIME

Luckily it only casted a poison cloud, nothing we can't shrug off.

Thus, the adventures of Suika continue as we find a small room filled with Blink Frogs. The funny part? A turn later, Half the frogs are gone! It's like a trap house without the trap part (Sadly I did not screenshot that part).

Eventually, we find a potion shop!

The item list looks pretty lame-
OH WAIT
IS THAT WHAT I THINK IT IS

WHY YES, IT IS
Finally a potion of cure mutation! That shall protect us in case of someone getting mutated by a random potion.

After some more exploring, Okawaru decides to give us a prize for our devotion. Yep, it's God Gift time!

GOD DAMN IT
I mean, look at the weight of this thing! It's not even that good either. Dropping. (7th floor in case someone should need it)

The exploring continues, and after skipping a couple of books we find a Bottled Efreet! Since we could be attacked by it, and we don't have any fire protection, we'll hold on it for now.

Next floor, a Weapon shop.

Skipping~

Ok, so now we're on the 8th floor, and it seems to be rather small. BUT

It could be ANYTHING.
I open it, hoping for the best, and HOLY SHIT
Remember that Oklob plant we found a while ago?
Inside this room there are THREE.
And they're blocking the THREE stairs to the 9th floor. (LOL 9)
So sense tells us it's time to start exploring the Swamp!

I already hate this place.

Some time, on the same floor...
It's Louise, the Unique Spellcaster!

Suika had to deal with Stone Arrows and Poison missiles (Name of the spell?), and Louise even became invisible! Sense would tell us to run, but no! We're Suika, the Mountain Dwarf! We can't fall like this! Eventually, Badass Suika found Louise and killed her, all while not knowing where the enemy was. Her equipment...
An orcish scimitar
A splint mail
And a large shield
... What you would expect from a fighter, not a Spellcaster.

After some more Swamp exploring, and passing on an useless armor shop, We're surrounded by Insubstantial Wisps.

The problem wasn't that we were surrounded.
The problem is that the wisps are hard to hit, and can even blink. So after 200+ turns of fighting them, we survived, and continued on.

A couple of floors deeper...
OH, HEY
LOOKIE

I'll take it, since the Holy Wrath will be useful on later branches.

After another while, and having to blink out of a Hydra ambush, my turn ended.
So pointers! To whoever takes Suika, There's a mass concentration of Hydras and Swamp Dragons on the next floor, Beware of them.
Also, there's that Mail I dropped on the Lair. Be sure of taking it if necessary.
Oh, and sign me up again.
so, until next time.
RIP AND TEAR!
Oh, also thanks to Totaku for guiding me through this run.

No problem Sword that cleaves evil. You did very well considering this is your first run.

Anyways, it's time for me to perform my run with Patchouli. Well it turned out that this time things turned out better, but let's begin shall we?

As our adventure left, off Patchouli was considering to continue her run through the fortress once again.
But she realized she was rather over stocked in her invetory so she decided to turn around and return to the hive....

At the hive she dropped some of her invetory off there that she wouldn't belive she would need for this battle....

A few swords, a few rings, and drops a few potion, books and scrolls in the process and collected some honey combs in the process before she returned to the Crypt to tackle the fortress of the undead....

As usual, Patchouli used her magic to plower through the undead and necromancers that roamed in there and got to the first small tureasure room.

She also found a dagger of draining in the process...

While fighting vampires isn't at unusal, what was odd about the fight was that something was behind the vampire that was out of view...

A mummy.....

As a result, I burned the mummy to death and the +5 ring of intellegence was cursed.... (guess now's a good time to out on the ring of regeneration and remove the curse...

Patchouli then went to the other side and found another room full of goodies.

Some gold an ID scroll, a healing potion, a ring of magic resistance and a rob of enchantment.

As she continued to slay the undead she found another room with some bread.

Now Patchouli confronts a differnt kind of enemy....The Hell Knight

Hell Knights are strong beings who use the power of fire and certain enchantments to aid them in battle. They can launch bolts of fire, use haste, even blink when in danger. They're also very resistant to fire, but they are vunerable to ice though.

Pretty easy to beat down actually. Also they usually carry special weapons, mostly demon type weapons, but they also can carry weapons that special enchantments to them so they can be worth looking through after you kill them.

Patchouli found a door but it ended up leading to nothing but a body of deep water... who the heck designs these dungeons anyways?

Now here's where things get difficult.

Patchouli confronted a Lich. Liches are basiclly evil undead necromancer pocessing powerful and deadly magic. They can do spells ranging from firing bolts of draining, bolts of cold, haste, pain, summon minor and major demons. It can get especially ugly if the summon Feinds, the worse type of demon on can face in the game in most cases.

The good part is though, they are vunerable to fire making life a little easier, however Patchouli wasn't quite prepared when it sommoned a Fiend or two so she retreated...

Oh did I forget to mention I turned enchatment back on for a reason? It's because I had Patchouli practice on a spell. She ended up learning haste.

Haste does exactly as it says, doubles your speed and makes you quite fast especialy at against the monsters. It may slightly contaminate you though, but not to the point that it makes you glow heavly, but try to only use haste when absolutly needed. Cause if you do abuse it too much it could make you glow and if that happens...well you don't want to know. :P

Her spellcasting was up to 22.
Her Enchantment was 5 and with her rod of wizardry, she had a great success rate of using that spell. So she hasted herself to combat the lich.

The lich continued to summon some demons, but they were more minor ones....

A Cacodemon in paticular. They're not that tough. But they can summons imps and the like and if given a chance can mutate you. Either way the demons and the lich were exterminated and Patchy pressed onward.

She fought off another lich and after defeating him....Level up!!!

Patchy's now level 21, she boosted her intellegence once more.... and then continued onward her undead slaying.

Patchy found a hidden door leading to more goodies, the sword looked interesting, but she pick it up later.

Could there be one on the otherside?

Why Yes!

Though the weapons didn't look as interesting though...

While Patchouli continued to burn the undead she heard a voice....

"You've done well my pupil, take this with you"

At Patchouli's feet was a book. What could it be?

It was a book of the clouds. It's sort of ok, but debatable. Basicly is uses all the cloud type spells from evaportate to freezing clouds. Not much can be said, but it's not exactly bad either. She decides to take the book....

Patchouli then confronted a new and powerful enemy....The Acient Lich. These guys are alot stronger than the regular lich and are far more dangerous. They can do most types of mid to high rank spells including spells like crystal spear, Summon greater demons and the like. Thier magic can hurt badly so take extreme caution! And to top it off they're immune to most forms of magic especially ice and poison. Patchouli had to sticky flame and then bolt of fire and  mystic blast. Because of the duration of the battle she had to retreat. recover her MP, rehaste and then fight the acient lich the rest of the way.

put it simply, she got a whopping 10000 Experience for killing the thing (so worth it!)

Patch went back to grab the Falchion. And put it on. It turned out that it seemed pretty useful.

Heck if we train her magic well enough the hell's won't be nearly as painful when we get to that point. But that's much later on... also it's +2 +4

Whao! What's he doing here? I hope he's a leftover from the Acient Lich's summons. This big guy is the Green Death. Basiclly he's a demon with a terrible gas problem. He loved to blast bolts of poison at you and release stinky poisonous gas. And he also like to summon demon buddies to aid him as well. Overall not quite as dangerous if you have poison protection, but not to be taken lightly either.

At last after taking out many undead creature, Patchouli made it to the vault of the Crypt. Lots of gold was at the entrance. What could be waiting behind the door?

Basiclly more goods! a few potions, some gold, a ring and book. I wonder what they could be?

Mmm a young prisoner's hand book. Good for using poison attacks, but not exactly good at this point of the game.... next!

Other than she found a smoking whip that turned out to be a whip of Fear.

Looks like with this thing it could make flaming hell a little easier, might as well take it with me.

After all that mess Patchouli had to call it a day.

I stopped at around or just at 6000 turns. I'm sorry for dragging it out but those liches are a bother and needed to be dealt with....

Anyways... here's some things to know.

At this point I think we should return to the dungeon and explore all the remaining floors that is after we pick up our belongs and place them in the hive or lair for safe keeping.

Patchouli's haste can be a big life saver. It can allow her to escape from serious trouble. And can be quite useful in the abyss.

And finally if your crazy, we can go down to the bottom of the vaults, but I personally thinking it's like asking us to be killed if we go there right now. I don't trust the vault gaurd that gaurd the stairs. <_<....

Anyways, this is it for now.

It should be the sword the cleaves evil's turn now.

And sign me up once again!

Well it's my turn, so let's continue the story...

As it turns out Patchouli had just completed her run in the crypt and decided to take what she gathered back with her to the Hive and lair as she was busy making plans for her next course of action....

While walking her way back up she weilded her Falchion of Impurium and spotted something....

The creature that had been silently attacking her undetected....

The Unseen Horror....

Unseen horrors are nasty little boogers that can move very fast and hit hard. And unless you can see invisible. They will remain hidden from view, and thanks to thier bat like movement. They are hard to hit too.

But once you can see them, it's all easy from there...

She eventually reached the hive, dropped off her goods, returned to the Vaults to pick up her other goods and then returned to the lair where she went through her collection of books. She picked up the book of callings and Tumika and learned the following..

Tumika's Dance and Summon Mammals.

(I orginally thought we had call canines, but we don't...so I had to resort to some other spells.)

And so Patchouli went down back to floor 16 where she set off to begin her travel through the deeper parts of the Dungeon....starting at floor 17.

It all seemed simple at first Patchouli even ran into a few orcs. Including an Orc Knight, which is a super powered up version of the orc warrior.

Sure she could beat them down with Bolts of flames, but why do it when...
Send an army of blades to do the dirty work for her!

This is the wonders of Tumika's Dance at work. You can equip a weapon and it'll be enchanted and fight for you! Course the spell only works for so long so make sure you pick up your weapon after it falls to the ground. Also make sure to not be near deep water either, you'd probably be enraged if you lost a +5 +5 enchanted weapons or something like that. I know I would.

Pretty much Patchy was making a buffet out of everything she came acorss. It seem this was going to be very easy for Patchouli. She could take down skeletons, orcs, and trolls with ease.

Then she can across a Wandering Shroom.

These guys are somewhat simple, they stand still when you see them and begin to follow you only when your out of thier view and follow you.

Becarful when fighting them, the spores they release can confuse you and hurt you a bit. and if you happen to be near deep water...well....

That's why the dancing blades took care of the shooms for me.

Then Patchouli confronted another wild efreet who was rather unfriendly, but nothing a bolt of cold couldn't take care of...

Sadly though, Patchouli's run came to an end when she confronted a squad of Centards accompanied by a Centard Warrior.

The Warrior Spotted Patchouli and fired, Patchouli was hurt badly, she reached a door and closed it, she used Tukima's dance to make her swords dance again. And sent them against the Centard Warrior.

However the centard warrior was smart and shot past the blade and due to thier swift speed. Patchy got shot twice and recived over 55 damage in total! And thus she reached her demise....

Sad part is I fought these guys way too many times in the vaults.... I guess I trusted too much in the blades to do my work... ;_;

Anyways Patchouli died so now it's Theshim's turn.

Go grab the Sword Cleaver's file and come to Touhou board if you want our feedback!

I'm signing up again.

And I want to remind everyone, please come and participate, it's always fun to have more participants.
That's one small step for man, one giant leap for Otaku Kind.

Well this run appears to be full of alot to talk about so brace yourself.

We all know where Patchouli begin....

She dropped her belonging off to the hive and then dropped off her second set of belongs at the Lair where she studied her books of magic and learned Tumika's Dance and Summon mammals.

As of right now these are the spells in her collection:

Also it turns out Patchouli recived a mutation likely from the Cacodemon which are capable of mutating adventurers.

A slowly deteriorating body can result in your stats slowing dropping occasionally. This of course can be troublesome, but it doesn't happen that often, however, should we consider removing it?

Patchouli then went back to to the dungeon and desended to floor 17 at the floor she confronted an Ettin. Think of it as a two headed giant with two weapons, just like the two headed ogre, but more brutal. Course using Patchouli's magic of summoning her swords
She disposed of the creature easily.

Patchouli eventually came across a food shop! I wonder what they have for sale?

Lots of good bread and meat, that's for sure. Patch will likely come here later on....

Patchouli then confronted a Lindworm and a Wolf Spider..

Now the Wolf Spider is of course agressive and poisonous and the lindwurn is stong and powerful with fire. But what was interesting was that when Patchouli was fighting the wolf spider....

The Lindwurm changed into a Giant Snail!

What could this mean? Why it seems Patchouli was battling a shape shifters.

Just as the name suggest, shape shifters change thier forms now and then. Making them either really easy or really hard depending on the form they change into. It's also very rare to confront one in it's true form (unless it's dead) THough there are some rare occasions where you might find one in it's natural form when it's alive. But that's hardly the case....

Anyways once you kill a shapeshifter, well just remember eating them may cause mutation results. So eat with caution!

Patchy didn't bother though, so it didn't matter...

Patchouli then reached floor 18.... all seemed quite at first....

Patchy then finds a yak herd and sends her blades to slice up the yaks so that Patchouli could have yak stake for later on...yum yum...

What's this? Another shop? It's a General store. I wonder what they got?

Lots of good scrolls that's for sure! Patchy went ahead and bought all the scrolls and the potion of resistance from the store...

Eww, what's the hideious purple bump on the ground?! It's a Giant Ameoba actually. These guys are like a slime but I don't recall them having an acid that I know off. I do know they're corpses are edible....if you have a way to endure poison that is...

Suddenly, a Kobold army attack!! Nothing Patchouli couldn't handle. Her blades did all the work anyways. :P

Patchy eventually found a runed buckler? What could it be? She picks it up, uses the detect curse spell. No curse, she put's it on....

+2 Buckler!

That's seemed to work out really nicely! Now Patchy will have a better chance of blocking hits.

Patchouli whipped out the rest of the floors and took the stairs down to the 19th floor....

Holy Shi--!!!!

Talk about over gaurded! Frogs, slime creatures, Centard Warriors, Very Ugly Things, and a gang of evils all waiting around the entrance....

Could Patchy handle something like this? Not what's she's is at the moment. Too risky!

She fled up stairs as the elves begin to blast thier magic at her.

Just for a quick descriptions:

Deep Elves come in all differnt types. They are all generally strong with magic and can be skilled fighters, but break easily like toothpicks (with an exception of a few)

The Deep Elf Fighters and basic melle and magic users. Mainly have basic magic spells.

Deep Elf Warriors are a stronger version of the fighter, can pocess blinking magic and the like...

Deep Elf conourers can use conjouration magic ranging from early to mid rank spells like throw flame to Bolt of Draining.

Deep Elf Mages contain various spells mostly early to mid rank magic of various types.

Very Ugly things are more powerful versions of the ugly thing and eating thier meat may mutate you...

Patchouly headed a different route and took another flight of stairs where she had an advantage. But she ran into someone else....

A heavly armed warrior named Frances.

Fances is mainly melee in general. So getting close to her is out of the question. However Patchouli's dancing blades had another thing to say to Frances....

3 blades (Elec, H Wrath, Poison) vs. Frances

Who would win?

Obvious, the blades won, Frances was only able to take out one of them. The rest finished her off.

Patchouli went and exterminated the elves from another angle and looking through their belonging, Patchy found an +2 elven Buckler! This replaced the +2 Buckler.

Why? This would give Patchy an advantage with her magic. The benifit of elven equipment is that is had less hinderance on her magic casting so she could wear an elven ring mail or so and she wouldn't suffer as much of a punishing effect from spellcasting as she would wearing a regular ring mail. So this is a good bonus for her....

Oh and the magic book? Just a book of flames[conjouration]

useless...

Patchy then later came across a scroll of aquierment! This could be a good time to get something other than a book. Because PAtch is missing some vital equipment.

She ended up with a steaming iron amulet (good for smoothing out Patchy's robe :P)

What did it do?

She ID'd it and...

An amulet of Shuirgh....

Looking at the benifits it had, not good for Patchy on most ways. But there is one key reason Patchy should keep it....

We lack an amulet of conservation! This amulet provides the same effect which means if she wears it fire and ice spells have less of a chance of damaging and destoring her scrolls and potions. Good to use when fighting Centards, Yaktards, spellcasts, demons ect.

Sure she might get mutated but we have to take risks sometimes....

On the 20th floor there wasn't much... Patchouli found a red back a spider that is generally like the wolf spider and an Hill giant, nothing her blades couldn't handle...

And she found a book, but it was the same as the previous....trash!

When Patchouli cleared that floor she went to the 21st floor....

It was filled with lava! Tons of it! Very unsafe for Patchouli to be enchanting her swords around...plus Yaktards placed on conviniently placed areas where they could fire at the distances while your blade try to attack them. Not good especially since these weapons are vital. Loosing them in the lava would likely enrage everyone so Patchouli had to let to spells run out from the blades and then do most of the spellcasting work herself.

She did find a gateway to hell. A very nastly place where demons roam. But that's another story for later on...too unsafe for Patchy right now...

Other than that basiclly lots of yaktard fighting, lava snake fighting and had to shoot my own enchanted blade to save it's life from being lost in the lava. It's really risky to use Tumika's dance here. I highly advice you not to do it. Loosing these blades would be a serious problem to everyone when it comes to the later levels....

Other than that Patchouli had to call it a day and rest. Though she's hungry too at the moment....

Turn lasted 5500 turns roughly....

But at least PAtchoulis closing in on clearing all the dungeon floors...

Anyways, here's the file Anathe! Go have find and sign me up again!

(Final Note: If for some reason the file become too big in zip or rar format (over 1 MB) We will have to use Media fire or Rapid Share again to upload the file. Please take note of that...)

FYI regarding 0.5. The map files are ridiculously huge. Each one takes up at least 150kb. The other save files are still normal sized.

What this means is that you're going to need an external uploader that everyone can access freely.

I'm going to whole-heartedly recommend Xom as the Assassin deity, especially with a spriggan assassin.  Why?

Xom likes to:
1.  Drop random pieces of fruits as god gifts all too often.
2.  Make everything silent chunks at a time.
3.  Make you switch positions with enemies, which for a spriggan is not bad as they run fast out of bad situations.
4.  Give random, and oddly enough, often good mutations, typically 2:1 ratio, good to bad, which is better than the average potion which has been fine tuned to 50% chance of bad or good.
5.  If you are his teddy bear, he wuvs you alot.  In other words, much less likely chance of bad Xom effects and more likely you'll come out awesome.

Granted, Xom does toss around a lot of bullshit, but it's usually weak demons or some other minor effect that you can typically survive.  Go for Xom, I managed to slay a Queen Bee on floor 4 with a demonspawn chaos knight of Xom with a bit of his help (namely that I threw a spear and it turned into a fireball).  60 aums of honey and jelly for everyone!

refreshed...that's, what, restore abilities, I think?
slow, argh

captainzevfox: Wheel of potion, turn turn turn. Tell us the lesson that we should learn

me: haste
DOUBLE KILL

captainzevfox: Refreshed means haste?
Wait, I thought you were playing Crawl
This sounds more like Halo

me: we had three potions
one of resotre abilities
one of slow
one of haste

captainzevfox: That's convenient
ONe cancels the other
I might almost think you planned that

me: OHGAWD

captainzevfox: Dead

me: goblin with a runed sling of frost
pain
not dead yet

captainzevfox: He can still sing and he can still dance
Do spriggins dance?
Better question
Does Sakuya dance?

me: They STAIRDANCE
woob woob woob

captainzevfox: I'm pretty sure that's the Homer dance
Alternatively
The noise Zoidberg makes

me: and he had a runed elven dagger as well
and I got cut off by a kobold at the stairs

captainzevfox: You are just getting these runed items all over the place

me: and that is that
DEAD
poor CSakuya

captainzevfox: ... wow, that was five minutes

me: that sucked mightiliy
I told you so
Right
Another round of epic Crawl HA HA HA SCREW YOUR FACE

captainzevfox: A lttle over ten, actually

me: CSakuyOWNED

captainzevfox: You should just lie and start over
Nobody has to know

me: that's no fun
Well
That is proverbially all she wrote, peoples

captainzevfox: I could write more, though
I'm not done!
Don't leave me
Please
I'm so lonely ;_;

me: Now excuse me while I forcefeed NF his own limbs

Didn't even take any screenshots.  Geez.  Hopefully it'll be easier to read, though.

Oh well, it should be Affinity's turn now, right?

Hmm, nothing much happened during this run to warrant screenshots.  It was quite an unexciting run where I had to run away a couple of times from an ice beast,  and use curare on ogres and orc warriors.  Stairdanced a little too.  No wands or any helpful rings at the moment (as in, not helpful at the moment), so it isn't the best start.  But hey, at least we didn't get killed.

Yup, go wrathie.

Wait, we're using 0.5 now?  I thought we'd said we were sticking to 0.4.5?
