I think you can hand the file to Xan.  Didn't know it was my turn.  Sorry.  Am pretty busy for the past few days.  Put me at the bottom of the list then.

[16:18] <Xan> Hey, this is Xan!
[16:18] <Ramus> And this is Ramus.
[16:18] <Xan> And stuff is going to happen!
[16:18] <Xan> OR ELSE!
[16:18] <Ramus> And InuSakuya's survive rate looks to be in the single digits today.
[16:18] <Ramus> Anyway, screenshot of the beginning.
[16:18] <Ramus> Cause it'll be a fond moment to remember.
[16:20] <Xan>
[16:20] <Xan> There.
[16:20] <Xan> Happy>
[16:20] <Xan> *?
[16:20] <Ramus> Eh.
[16:20] <Ramus> Sure.
[16:20] <Xan> Hooray, level 2!
[16:21] <Ramus> Woot.
[16:21] <Ramus> Whatcha kill?
[16:21] <Xan> Jackals.
[16:21] <Ramus> Ah,
[16:21] <Xan> Also, Enchant Weapon I
[16:21] <Ramus> Yippie dogs.
[16:21] <Ramus> Nice.
[16:23] <Xan> Level 3!
[16:24] <Ramus> Kill?
[16:24] <Xan> Snake.
[16:24] <Ramus> Anyway, what god are you going to choose?
[16:24] <Ramus> The Shining One?
[16:24] * Ramus snickers.
[16:24] <Xan> No.
[16:25] <Xan> Probably one of the evil ones.
[16:25] <Ramus> Too sadistic for you?
[16:25] <Ramus> Hmm...
[16:25] <Xan> Or Nemelex
[16:25] <Ramus> The matter is, which one?
[16:25] <Ramus> Nemelex is good.
[16:25] <Xan> Dunno.
[16:25] <Ramus> If you know how to deal with cards.
[16:25] <Xan> Yeah.
[16:25] <Ramus> To the Crawl Wiki!
[16:25] <Xan> Besides, there are going to be LOADS of items we won't be using.
[16:25] <Xan> Like most armor.
[16:26] <Xan> And meat products.
[16:26] <Ramus> Necromancy Y/N
[16:26] <Xan> If I find a book.
[16:26] <Xan> Y
[16:26] <Xan> Otherwise, N
[16:26] <Ramus> So, you don't want the necromancy god.
[16:26] <Xan> Fortunately, spriggans learn spellcasting really easily.
[16:26] <Xan> Vehumet is an option.
[16:26] <Ramus> How about Flanders?
[16:27] <Xan> We already did Frandoll (worst translation evar
[16:27] <Xan> )
[16:27] <Ramus> Hmm...
[16:27] <Ramus> Tewi?
[16:27] <Xan> I.E. Xom?
[16:27] <Xan> Hell no.
[16:27] <Ramus> L<
[16:27] <Ramus> :<*
[16:28] <Ramus> That leaves Vehumet/Marisa.
[16:28] <Ramus> The god of destructive magic.
[16:28] <Xan> Yes.
[16:28] <Ramus> Eh, kinda of a boring god, but whatever.
[16:28] <Xan> Well, as said, Cards are always an option.
[16:29] <Ramus> Yes, but you need to know how to handle the cards very well.
[16:29] <Xan> YOU ACTIVATED MY TRAP CARD!
[16:29] <Xan> Cards aren't that hard.
[16:29] <Ramus> There's certain means of stock piling and sacrificing.
[16:29] <Xan> Yes.
[16:29] <Ramus> A mixed pile results in a deck of cards which will kill you.
[16:29] <Xan> Nemelex lets you cheat.
[16:29] <Ramus> Of course.
[16:29] <Ramus> Nemelex = The Heart of the Cards.
[16:29] <Xan> You can topdeck.
[16:29] <Ramus> Except it doesn't save you when you need it.
[16:30] <Xan> Actually, Nemelex lets you do exactly what Yugi does: TOP DECK!
[16:30] <Ramus> So wait, Nemelex = Pharaoh Yugi who's true name I don't know.
[16:30] <Ramus> Yeah.
[16:30] <Xan> Indeed.
[16:30] <Ramus> So then, Yami (>_<) or Marisa?
[16:30] <Ramus> Or what a while before answering?
[16:30] <Ramus> wait a while*
[16:31] <Xan> We are going to find a non-Yugioh name for Nemelex
[16:31] <Xan> Because Nemelex is way more awesome.
[16:31] <Xan>
[16:31] <Xan> There's the levelup.
[16:32] <Xan> Fuck, poisoned to death.
[16:33] <Ramus> <_<;
[16:36] <Xan> See, this is crawls revenge for you surviving.
[16:36] <Xan> You were supposed to die.
[16:36] <Xan> YOU WENT AGAINST FATE!
[16:36] <Ramus> Are you kidding?
[16:36] <Xan> Maybe.
[16:36] <Ramus> Did you read my post?
[16:36] <Ramus> Know how many times that Crawl nearly killed me?
[16:36] <Xan> That's my point
[16:37] <Xan> You weren't supposed to survive those.
[16:37] <Ramus> I
[16:37] <Ramus> AM
[16:37] <Ramus> A
[16:37] <Ramus> SURVIVOR

Right. Since we're not ready for the Swamp and the fifth level of the Snake Pit, I decided to head down the dungeon, skipping the nightmare level.

At this point, my turn is ending so I decide to attend to another matter-

The mini-vault to Patchouli's left is guarded by some wasps and can only be reached by swimming, levitation or simply burning the wax walls down. However, we cannot burn said walls down with our current spells.

And thus I end my turn.

A few things to note:

-We have a second stash on Hive 1
-There is an additional wand of digging on the fourth level of the Snake Pit.

-The next person should quaff the potion of levitation and move into the vault. Don't forget to blast those wasps first, but be careful not to let the levitation run out. So long as you can get your feet on solid ground, you're safe. Once inside the vault, you can leave by simply using a teleport scroll. Don't forget the Queen Bee near the top of the map, and stock up on royal jellies as they heal lowered stats.

-Alternatively, if you're not quite certain about the above, you can skip it. It's a small vault anyway.

well let's contime the story shall we?

As we left off in our adventure, Patchouli went into the hive and was confronted by a massive swarm of bees. She eventually reached the bottom of the hive where she found a wasps nest, but first she decided to take her horde of undead bees and go through the bees nest.

She face many bees and larva but her magic and her undead army wouldn't give the bees a chance to fight back at all..

Eventually Patchouli had to temporarly retreat to rest. And while rested, she met with the queen bee.

The Queen is more dangerous than your standard killer bee, but isn't much different from the rest so in a way it's almost like fighting several killer bees at once technically.

Regardless, two bolts of ice and the queen was down! And with that pretty much most of the bees of the hive were exterminated.

From there Patchouli went and gathered some honeycombs and royal jelly that she took with her.

Afterward she went back up to wasp nest to see if there was an entrance...

She also took the opprotunity to learn Sticky flame. This spell is actually very useful! Esepcially against player ghosts. Some people underestimate the power of sticky flame. It's good at putting out creature or damaging them quite a bit.

She drank her potion of levitation and....

sadly, the wasp nets was blocked off entirely, the only way through there is if Patchouli learns bolt of fire which produced enough heat to melt wax.

Patchouli then proceeded up to a  floor to an unexplored area of the hive where she found a trident. She decided to equip it and it turned out to be..

Could this be any good to Patchouli? It has plenty of good effects, but at the same time a few bad ones (mutation and drop in evasion)

Regardless Patchouli took it up to the top floor of the hive and dropped it there..

She then left and then returned to the dreaded "Unlucky 13th floor"

While on that floor Patchouli found a strange room.... what could be in it?

Lots of door and apperently....this might not be good...

As she opens the doors she confronts zombies and skeletons of humans and trolls and...

A mummy! These things aren't that uncommon in the early parts but they are rather dreadful to face in the early. Mainly because if you attack them... and kill then yourself. They will curse you! An that can result in cursing your equipment, causing some scrolls to desinigrate, feel drained, pain shoot through your body or even cause your potions to become potions of rotting.

However there is one flaw to the mummy's curse....letting another creature that is your partner destroy it. It will leave you unaffected from the mummy's curse. So Patchouli let her undead minions take care of the mummy.

Many mummies and skeltons later Patchouli found an alter...

An alter of Kikubaaqudgha (would that be Yuyuko?), the god of the undead. This would not be much use to Patchouli though as she was already serving Mima.

She then confronted the dreaded motted dragon once again, but this time she was far more than prepared.... One hit from a bolt of ice and the creature feel without even getting a chance to fight back!

She then venture torward the heavly guarded area where the trueasure was at, when she arrived to there she confronted several creatures...upon them was a creature Patchouli could not see...

She was in a narrow corridor and was able to some how chase it away by blasting ice at the unknown creature....

She then proceed into the vault chamber of the 13th floor and confronted seeveral creatures there...

The two headed oger, donno if it's a result of a mutation or what, but even though they say two heads are better than one... it also makes them twice as dangerous. It weilds two clubs meaning twice the chance to get clubbed very hard.

But they're only slightly tougher than a regular ogres.

And there is also the wolf spider, a very quick and poisonus spider than can make your day dreadful... but are also somewhat weak.

With two blast of ice Patchouli took down the both as if they weren't a challenge and beat up the brown frog and gain short sword skills.

She then traveled around the vault, fell through a shaft that took her to floor 14. Confronted something unseen that attacked her there (much worse since it's an open space) and retreated back to floor 13.

She then eventually explored the area and went for the trueasure.

Look like Patchouli struck it big time. :P

On her way out she confronted something strange....

A Shape shifter, in it's regular form. This is rare to see it in it's normal form since it will usually appear in another form of some creature, but regardless it was there, however as sooon as Patchouli struck it, it changed into an Ugly Thing and then she took it out in it's changed form.

Also she confronted a scroll of identity that attacked her! Thus it was a mimic As soon as she casted magic on it it vanished, but strangely it was dumb enough to appear in the same area disgused at a scroll of weapon enchantment 1. So she sent her yak zombie to take it out to the point that she could just blast it with one spell.

Afterward she gather the remaining potions and gold and then left unlucky 13!

And venture through the 14th floor trying to avoid the invisible attacker.

And then reached the 15th floor...

Long story short she confronted a 5 headed hydra. quickly took it out with her magic. Level up to level 15!

She trained her intellegence once again.

Mima gave her a gift once again. The book of Hinderance. A ok book in my opinion. We already know slow. But other than that, most of the other spells excluding Petrify are only ok at best in the short term..

Then Patchouli confronted a area full of a whole bunch of orcs. (Mainly regulars and warriors)

After many long hours to bloodshed, the orc squad was destoryed.

After than Patchouli went back to the stairs to rest and then due to her over load decided to drop her wand of polymorph and Book of Hinderance to lighten the load. Thus ending Patchouli's turn at turn 42002. (which is somewhere about 5500 -6000 turns not sure, but I hope I stayed in range.

Let's continue right where I left off (Sweekah isn't too popular I guess).
And I have to enter floor 11 again.  *shudders*

Let's go.

Found the scroll of enchant armor.  Goes straight into our Platemail.

Stupid eyeball shows up again with the stupid troll again.  I get knocked down to 11 HP before I confuse the troll yet again and it runs around stuff while I poke out an eyeball.

I run back up stairs to heal and come back to kill the Troll 1 on 1.  I kill it with a negative energy wand.

It could not die fast enough as seen below:

Hello.

The jerk teleports me away.  Not that I could do more than lightly wound him.  Not quite strong enough yet.

Artifact store!  I splurged on the platemail.  It ended up being +3 with cold resistance.  Woot.

Still can't manage to kill that Naga Guardian.  So, I resort to pulling out the big guns (with loads of recoil) the flail of distortion.  Sent to the Abyss.  Sucker.

There's a cruel irony at work when you get sent to the Abyss by your own weapon.

SALVATION!

Rule #1 of the Abyss: Lugonu likes to peg players.

Darn it, leave me alone.  After activating might for the hundredth time this play through, I kill the skeleton warrior, the ice imp, the skeleton hill giant, and naga mage that followed me out of the Abyss and run back to the treasure room.  FINALLY, geez, do I have to work that hard for every treasure room?

Ring of +3 protection.  Heck yes, 29 AC on floor 11.
Ring of +2 strength.  Always good.
Spare shield.  Leaving behind.
Unidentified wand.
Runed scythe which I shall leave behind.
Book of flames.  (Eh...)
Young Prisoner's Handbook (Eh...)
Book of Cantrips.  HECK YES.  We want confusing touch from this and nothing else.

Identify wand, it's teleportation.

And lots of water.  I've got a ring of levitation, let's check it out.  Bad idea.  It's just a lot of eels and nothing else.  Maybe I can come back later with electrical protection.

Next floor...

Why Crawl?  Why?  I run back up stairs and then down another set of stairs and choke point them to death.

Oh hey, it's our first glimpse of six headed imminient death.  Let's take it on.

One hit with the mace of distortion and it's badly hurt.  Sent to the Abyss later.

Did I say sent to the Abyss?  I meant I blinked it and it's now berserking.  Aw crap.
I manage to lose it later after fighting some orcs.

Finally get haste from Yuka later.

Here be the hive.  And I need poison resistance.  Pass.

Not hard at all.

Orcish Mines.

Dump made in the hive after fighting off 4 bees  9 bees  17 bees 23 bees in a row.

FUCK YEAH!  No wait, it's a mimic.  FRICK.
However, I do find a flail of protection.  We're trading in the mace for this.

+5 Orcish Plate Mail of Pondernous.  For -2 EV, I'm at 32 AC.  Nah, my +4 cold resistant plate mail is better.

In the Abyss again because I unequipped my flail of distortion...  I manage to escape anyway.

Floor 1 of the Orcish Mines has a lot of dudes to kill.  Oh hey, first god gift, +2 band mail of magical resistance.

And that is where I save and stop. I'm already 200 turns over limit.

File probably going to be up tomorrow.

<The_Astral_Pancake>   This a Pancake
   <Xan>   And this is Xan
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Today I'm going to try to get to the Vaults
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Unless we happen to get poison resist
<Xan>   And I am going to watch him do so and say stuff.
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Holy shit, why are you carrying so many wands?
   <Xan>   Not me.
<Xan>   You'd have to ask Ramus.
<The_Astral_Pancake>   I mean, anything worth confusing can probably shrug it off
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Anyways, shall we continue in the mines?
   <Xan>   I don't see why we shouldn't finish them.
<Xan>   Just stay the hell out of elf-town
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Looks like our first set of stairs is a mini-room
   <Xan>   hooray.jpg
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Our second set of stairs leads to orcs
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Which are now dead
<Xan>   Orcs? In the Orc mines? What will they think of next?
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Because I KILEEEEEEEEEEEEED THEEEEEEEEEEEEEM
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Another mini-room
<The_Astral_Pancake>   How to be a massive douchebag in Crawl against orcs: Hide in a corridor
<Xan>   I think that's how you be a massive douchebag in crawl against most things.
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Except fiends
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   And mages
<The_Astral_Pancake>   And anything that can kill you in one-hit
   <Xan>   True.
<Xan>   But engaging in douchebaggery against those is... not reccomended.
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Floor done~
   <Xan>   Yay!
<Xan>   What's on the next floor?
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Suika had a nice dinner with some fava beans and a chianti

   <The_Astral_Pancake>   lol, elven halls?
   <Xan>   Nah.
<Xan>   I don't really like the odds on that.
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Oh great, an ettin
   <Xan>   OH NO!
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Like a hill giant with less hill and more hit you in the face until you die

<The_Astral_Pancake>   Might makes the enemy dead
   <Xan>   Yup.
<Xan>   Has he given us any stuffs yet?
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   No
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Unless a teleport trap counts
   <Xan>   No.
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Oh no, a troll
   <Xan>   Freaking teleport traps.
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Not like Shrinemaiden has enough of those
<Xan>   Oh, I remember one time, they walled in a sub-branch using teleport traps.
   <Xan>   I raeged
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Antique shop

<The_Astral_Pancake>   There is a randart ring

<Xan>   Anything useful?
   <Xan>   Oooh.
   <Xan>   What's it do?
<The_Astral_Pancake>   We don't know what it is
   <Xan>   Ah.
   <Xan>   Buy it?
<The_Astral_Pancake>   However it's really fucking cheap
<The_Astral_Pancake>   lol, ornate cards are 1400

<The_Astral_Pancake>   Okay, it's a ring of life protection with +3 damage

<The_Astral_Pancake>   Meh

<The_Astral_Pancake>   Especially when they are shapeshifters
<Xan>   Oh jeeze, one of those already?
<The_Astral_Pancake>   Because shapeshifters like shifting into Quicksilver Dragons on D:10
   <Xan>   Oh jeeze.
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Level up~
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Going for STR

   <Xan>   Uh, yeah.
   <Xan>   That is shit.
<The_Astral_Pancake>   I'm grateful that that Daeva is behind a glass barrier

<Xan>   Yeah.
   <Xan>   I would be too.
   <The_Astral_Pancake>   Another gift
<The_Astral_Pancake>   +4 ring mail of positive energy

Awww.  :(

Anyways, rapidshare is suddenly not working for me now.  Is it possible to upload it to something like mediafire?

Mediafire hates me on a constant basis.  Can you deal with MegaUpload?

And yeah, I'll (or possibly Pancake) upload the file when I get home, which won't be for a while.

Looks like only admin can upload files. If I can't upload, then I'm sure the rest can't either.

Oh darn it.

No pictures, but in short, I went through the orc mines a little, saw a warlord I couldn't beat, and then decided to backtrack into the main dungeon to find the Lair.  On the same floor was a wand and a few enemies which were defeated with the quick usage of might, but I came across a five-headed hydra.  No problem at all, until it was almost dying.  Then I decided to use the wand on it.

It happened to be a wand of polymorph other.

And so the hydra turned into a dragon which killed me very quickly while I tried to teleport.

Moral: Don't use wands you don't know on strong enemies, especially hydrae.

I remember the time where I polymorphed a giant ant into an elf as a level 4 Fighter.  It was horrible, it was faster than me and I couldn't hit it and it did lots of damange.  D=  Gah.

Anyways, sign me up again at the back of the list.

Man! I could of had it I really could of had it!! @_@

This run could of been perfect if it wasn't for a bad run in with an unexpected encounter....

So what did Patchouli do this time?

I decided to return to the snake pits once more. Why? Because with Sticky Flame, Patchouli should of gained a big advantage over the nagas.

And so after running up so many stairs... she returned down the the 5th floor of the snake pits...

It ran smoothly, with her army of zombies with her, and her magic she took out snakes and nagas she traveled through the corridors.

Even the greater Nagas and Naga priest didn't stand up to Patchouli!

Eventually she cleared out the corridors leading only one area left uncheck...

She took on the army of nagas as she sitcky flamed them making them slowly burn as she retreats  to recharge and takes them out. It was a slow back and forth process, but the large room where the naga stood at was cleared nearly....

There was only one more room left that she didn't check....could the rune be in here?

She was ambused by a warrior and Greater Naga.

She takes out the warrior  but is low on magic so she sacrafices her undead minion go and take out the naga while she retreats... But during her retreat was when she made a terrible mistake....

As she went out into the corridors she was ambused by a greater naga... The naga hasted itself as she flee and catches up. She uses her teleport wand to warp away. But before she had the chance she was blasted by a giant orb of energy by the snakey menace.

Thus...Patchouli fell...

What can I say about this run....

I think that now it is certain that Patchouli can take on the snake pits. She can take on the nagas easily, I was just an idiot not to use detect creature before going around the corner. I would of save myself from performing a terrible mistake.

The serpentine Rune of Zot should be good as ours. We just need to make use of our abilities to the fullest.

I have not new the share so take Edible's file and I will sign up for another round.
That's one small step for man, one giant leap for Otaku Kind.

A more pressing question is why you are trying to grab a rune while Encumbered? Detect and remove curse scrolls are no longer vital to carry around at this stage of the game. Potions of healing are not that useful either and you can be fine with just 5 in the pack.

Joy!  My turn again.  Time to kickass and chew bubble gum.

As you'll remember, we're still stuck in the orcish mines.

With lots and lots of orcs!  And not much to talk about.  I'm just beating up hordes of orcs with the occasional troll or ogre.

Hey guys!  Look!  It's another Suika (probably a past one from myself, crud).  I hope it isn't the one with the vorpalized flail that I found on floor 2.

Hey, two spears of dragon slaying.  I'll take them!

Another ghost down.

Orc Sorcerer.  This guy is a bastard and it hurts when you're hit by him.  It might be best to retreat for now.

Ah ha ha ha... I counted 14 orcs, 5 orc knights, 3 wizards, and some high level demons appearing on screen in the two turns it took me to get to that staircase.  Up the stairs I go.

I catch him alone.  And he's dead.  Also, found a falchion of draining.  May be useful later.

Orc Warlord.  ALWAYS a bad idea to mess with.

GOD GIFT

+1 helmet of Klosch

Evasion +2
Dex +2

It's okay, but hey, better than our old head gear.

Orc Knights are the weaker versions of Orc Warlord but they still hurt.

Leaving the orcish mines.  I can't find the elven halls but I do have a boat load of weapons to test out.

-1, 0 orcish great mace.  Dropping.

ARTIFACT SHIELD

Can I get a "FUCK YEAH!" ?  Also, 28 strength, suckers.

Killed a mottled dragon.  Those two spears of dragon slaying are very, very useful.

Level up, 30 strength!  Also an efreet in a jar.

Donald yet again.

There's the lair, but we have no poison resistance.

Brainworm, these guys can mutate so long as they can see you.  Solution?  GET BEHIND A WALL!

SCROLL OF AQUIREMENT!  WOOT!  Let's go for artifact weapon.

Crystal Spiked Flail!

ROCK ON!

+5, +2 Cystal Spiked Flail.  This just keeps getting better.

And that's where I end it.  Suika just keeps leveling in badassery, not to mention, we're nearly caught up with Patchouli.

Final stats at level 12:

HP: 104
Magic: 7
Str: 30
Int: 7
Dex: 13
AC: 29
EV: 7
SH: 12

Uploading file soon.

Xan said he wouldn't be able to take his turn, so move him to back of the list again.  Anathe, go for it.

EDIT:  Actually, can I take Xan's turn for him?  I'd like to have a go with InuSakuya.

Once I get settled in for the summer (give me about a week, probably) I'd probably like to give Suika or InuSakuya (I hate that meme, by the way) a shot.  I got viciously hooked on Crawl this past week.

Ah, glad you're enjoying it.  Regardless, unless you feel really competent at stealth or magic, I recommend Suika for now as she is the basic hit the other guy dead.  InuSakuya (blame Xan, he picked her) is going to be one long game of attempting not to starve and sneaking up on people, Patchouli is going to managing magic so she doesn't run out and get killed.

Also, beware of Sigmund of the early dungeon.  He may be an old man, but he'll destroy you.

EDIT:  I also will begin the InuSakuya run later today.
