Unfortunately it looks like Curses-mode games are impossible to spectate (well you can watch but graphics will be corrupted like mad).  Probably has to do with how ttyrec captures the screen data.  Thankfully you can easily change from Curses back to TTY so if people are starting to watch you just flip back to TTY for the time being.

For example, to get things to look like mine set your Putty window to 110x32 (under Window, you HAVE to do this from a new connection not from an existing one).  Add the following lines to your Nethack options:

OPTIONS=align_message:bottom,align_status:right,guicolors,windowborders:1,popup_dialog
OPTIONS=term_cols:110,term_rows:32

If you launch in TTY mode with these settings you'll get a bunch of errors about bad options, nothing to worry about.  Just hit enter through them and TTY mode will still function normally.

If you've got magic resistance and are surrounded, breaking a wand of striking might be a good way to escape:

Hoooookay, I've successfully built both the Curses and TTY interface into the same executable.  So now to switch between TTY and Curses, you just need to add the following line to your Nethack options file.

OPTIONS=windowtype:curses
or
OPTIONS=windowtype:tty

Curses still doesn't show up for spectators right so if you want other people to watch save out and switch to TTY.

Cause now it looks like I can start looking into make Orin work the way she should now. XD

Got damned unlucky in DCSS. Hordes and hordes of killer bees, orcs, wargs, and yaks; player ghost, named giant snail, and named orc finally depleted my items and I died. With the second-highest score on this server. You people need to play more Crawl.

It had to be either polymorph or a bones file in which the person used polymorph, since minotaurs aren't randomly generated and green slimes only appear in Gehennom.

Oh hey, it's almost November already! This means that, for anyone who's interested, the dev/null/nethack tournament is near to beginning for the year! Maybe we could even have a clan for it.

You don't even have to be any good (I'll probably play this year and I'm definitely not any good!), there's awards for even pretty minor achievements like reaching Mines' End or Sokoban. :3

EDIT: Oh. Apparently pre-registration is only for re-activating accounts from old years. Guess any of us who want to give it a go have to wait 'til the first of the month to sign up. :derp:

I-I am not tsundere...i-it's a terrible game and no one should play it...b-but I have to beat it anyway cause I said I would. T-that's all there is to it. It's not like I'm starting to midlly enjoy some of the new things...not at all!

I get a demon wish on d1 and a blessed magic lamp, AND I got rdj's bones in minetown and I end up dying to a giant mimic while trying to make my stash.  Best part is I prayed about 5 times to get that damn -1 shield off, and when I actually need to pray for health, Kos decides then to uncurse my shield instead.  What a mean fucker :(

I'll just say that Doppelganger is the most enjoyable thing added in SlashEM and the only reason I wanted to play it in the first place although it is ridiculously overpowered reletive to most Race/Class combos. It could be stuck as a Class and Race and still be amazing.
