>Observe!
>While at this point, we don't expect any funny business, do keep half an ear out for it. But really, the goal here is to just to have a complete picture of what's going on.
> You sit back on the stool and watch as Yukari steps forward.
> "Everyone, listen up! I'm going to be splitting everyone into groups by element now!" she calls out, clapping her hands. "North, stand by the lake. East, stand next to that big oak over there. West, go to the path by the lake. South is at the small field between the mansion and the lake. That corresponds to which direction you'll be going for the spell."
> You watch as Yukari and Ran start moving people around. Patchouli, Alice, Marisa, and Byakuren are immediately split up, probably to have a magician in every group. Koakuma, Orin, and Okuu follow Patchouli to the field right off the bat, while Marisa stands by the water with no one but Nitori for company. Byakuren and Alice are alone on the path and at the tree, respectively, until Yukari starts finding people and redirecting them to each magician. As chaos ensues, Chen and Sanae wander over to you, looking lost. Keine eventually joins you as well.
> As the groups start to get sorted out, you notice that Yukari is sorting based on who she thinks is compatible with each element. Some choices are obvious, such as putting Mokou in the south group, but others are less obvious.
> By the end, each group is as follows:
> East (wood): Alice, Miko, Seiga, Yoshika, Unzan, Ichirin, Aya, Yuyuko
> South (fire): Patchouli, Koakuma, Orin, Okuu, Mokou, Yuugi, Tojiko, Shou
> West (metal): Byakuren, Nazrin, Remilia, Suwako, Konngara, Futo, Sakuya
> North (water): Marisa, Nitori, Eirin, Murasa, Kaguya, Suika, Kasen, Mamizou
> This leaves you, Yukari, Ran, and Chen in the Center (earth) group, while Keine and Sanae are unsorted. You think this is because you told Sanae she could go home. As for Keine, she either got the bad luck of being the 33rd person or she is going to leave to check up on the Human Village. You don't really suspect foul play here, but if you're sure you could bully Yukari into letting you swap people around if you wanted.
