How? You mean going around the perimeter at the point when bullets have the lowest rate of outward propagation?

No.  The non-card is static, and the inner shots are radially symmetric with each other.  The objective is to stand at a distance such that you're inside the outer ring, and in a gap in the inner one.  The idea is that, since the inner ring is radially symmetric, and they pass through the ring's center point, the gap when the spawn is the same as the gap when they leave.

Reprise just posted a new Marisa-A run on Easy, achieving 1.56 billion. How? By discovering what is probably the greatest scoring trick in the game: an insane grazing safespot inside Unzan's eye, which can be used easily by every character on most likely every difficulty. That's some public service right there!

Ironically, Sanae-B (and, to a lesser extent, Reimu-B) benefits from it the least due to her proximity-based bomb. An odd way to restore balance, but it seems like every character can go over 1.5 billion on Easy without doing anything particularly dangerous now, as long as the UFO route is adhered to. (That being said, Reprise still didn't use either of the improvements I posted above, hehe.) Though if someone finds the way to abuse this safespot effectively with Sanae-B (in other words, without ending the spellcard in a single bomb discharge), we'll probably see a 1.7 billion Easy replay someday.

Interesting.  While I wasn't aware there was an actual safespot there, I've been experimenting with grazing with MarisaA on stage 3.  With regards to the final card, much, much more graze can be obtained by moving slightly up during Master Spark.  The optimal distance seems to be about 2 or 3 hitboxes.  I was able to obtain 10.5k graze in a stage 3 practice run using this technique.  This is also why I think MarisaA will eventually triumph over SanaeB.  The graze hitbox, plus Master Spark grazing, seems to hold an incredible amount of untapping potential.

You might be right about that. The graze hitboxes are really odd in this game, without any explanation for them whatsoever. Sanae is still able to bomb-graze in other areas where Marisa cannot due to very low movement speed and/or high damage to the target, so they'll probably end up very close without significant advantages over each other.

Off-topic:

So campaigning in Dungeon Keeper II went well for a bit.  It crashed only once but soon picked up on the 13th mission, which I assumed was due to the constant conflicts across the map.  It didn't get any better on the following less battle-intensive mission, and by the 15th mission I was unable to so much as bring up the menu to save without it crashing.  That was enough to prompt me to try and fix the problem, of which one of the attempted solutions was putting Win98 on a roommate's no longer used Dell Inspiron 1501.  I don't think that laptop was built to be downgraded.

Anyway, finally tried Virtual PC and it worked wonderfully.  Happy end, but interest in the game dropped after completing the 20th and final mission.  No will to play through My Pet Dungeon or skirmish games, but multiplayer isn't out of the question.  Contemplating the completion of another unmodded Morrowind before jumping into all the exciting extras.  Before that perhaps I should give Heroes V another go.  I doubt it'll captivate me as much as Heroes III did, which I can't find the original CD for.

moozooh, I couldn't quite understand your instructions for skipping the blue UFO in stage four.  Starting from the 'proceed as usual' you're stuck with a leftover UFO token and two more to be dropped by the yin-yang orbs.  The only other way I see is following the beginning stage four flashing token until it is ready to be picked up and collection of the UFOs from the aforementioned yin-yang orbs can commence, much like Reprise did in stage two with prolonging the UFO token's escape.  That's probably what you were saying, but if I'm wrong then I'd to see clarified instructions if possible.

The blindzone in Syou's last non-spell has been well known for a while. I didn't use it because the last non-spell was easy enough as it is. I ended up discovering it on the 24th (GMT+10 btw) through a replay at royalflare. Only a few days later.

I admire your composure. I'm pretty sure I saw at least 5-6 instances where bullets went nearly through your hitbox at an uncomfortable speed, yet you didn't bomb. A shame the cool worn off during the Byakuren fight. :(

Also, nice grazing trick, Hawk. I'm sure it will be found and used eventually. So far there are only three players scorerunning Easy seriously enough to use it. Same with my UFO route improvements for stages 3 and 4, the Shou safespot, and other things.
