Who is up for a side-game of Wordless Mafia, where no reasoning is allowed, only votes? It takes minimal effort, and could be deeply enlightening with respect to game mechanics and bandwagon analysis, and even if it turns out to be a lurkfest disaster, it would not be too injurous (I hope). Prospective players are more than welcome to try playing.
Rules are as follows:
- 24 hour days and nights. Majority must be reached for lynch, if not, no lynch. Scum must NK each night.
- Setup will be open and flavourless, and will include power roles such as cop and doc, but they will be completely normal.
- Before the game starts, there will be 24 hours of free discussion in-thread. No one other than scum will receive their role PMs. No votes will be recorded during this period. Scum may also converse this time with each other in their quicktopic.
- Town Role PMs only sent with games starts. Confirmation phase here.
- After the game starts, people will not be allowed to post any words, with the exception of ##Vote, ##Unvote,##Claim, and ##N(1) Result: Scum will also have neither daytalk nor nightalk.
- Players may fakeclaim or claim (e.g ##Claim: Cop) anything in the open setup. They may cite their results in a list with each line as such (##N(1) Result: Targeted X, guilty/not guilty), where X stands for a player name.
- Players are allowed to quote other players' posts posted after game start, as well as the position of votes at any point in the game (even if they are not posted explicitly by the mod). Within these quotes, players are allowed to stylize them (e.g bold, color), however they want, but they cannot add any words or stylize letters in such a way that it forms another word. Quotes cannot be pieced together to form a sensible phrase or sentence that would include content.
- Game ends when town loses the majority.
- Mentor-newbie hydras are allowed, and strongly encouraged.

Scum have to decide the hierarchy themselves in the 24 hours they have before the game starts. If there are two conflicting kill orders I will choose one at random to carry out.

Also, some questions, are we allowed to retract claims (<quote of claim goes here> ##Retract: Cop), claim another role after we've already claimed, and/or claim a non-role (##Claim: Newb)? In case the third is allowed, is it limited to just one word (no ##Claim: Scum's Target)?
In case none of the above is allowed, can players involved in a hydra claim different roles?

You may only claim the roles specified in the setup. Retracting is illegal, but you can claim another role as many times you wish.

I recommend limiting the amount of votes people are allowed to make per post. Likewise, you might want to limit the ways people can use quotes.
Theoretically, with the current rules, doing something like

And that's bad? I thought that was the point. Keep in mind that these are 24hr deadlines, so it's not like there will be plenty of time for discussion anyway.

By game start, I mean after the 24 hours of pre-game discussion. That's why pre-game is before the game. >_> I'll adjust the rules to include that quotes cannot be pieced together to form a sensible phrase or sentence, though.
And since, well, response has been enthusiastic and people are going to be lynched like butter under hot knives, I suppose I'll expand it to 13+ or whatever.

I can't think of any way to exploit the system so easily. I trust myself to convey info in a way that makes sense to everyone if applicable, even if I get a multiple target role.
double/triple posting, posting a lot at a time should be warning flags that someone is despretely trying to convey info so look out for that.

Edit: You could also just add a rule allowing you to forbid the quoting of specific posts, or something to that effect.
But yeah, like it is now the spirit of the rule should be clear enough, anyway.

Like let's say I post a string of quotes that simply detail a succession of votes/unvotes/claims/targets etc.
Then accompany that with a vote. That's fine right?
