Should've been Eiken, a.k.a. the Greatest Love Story Ever Told.

I knew before I made it to the bottom of the page that you were all talking about Tsukihime. Isn't it :(, Sacchin?
I'll continue to delude myself into believing that anime adaptation does not exist. How can we drink to something that doesn't exist?

Take a drink every time there's a still frame pan

(I still think the terribleness of the anime is overstated, it's a bad adaptation but still watchable enough)

Should've been Eiken, a.k.a. the Greatest Love Story Ever Told.

I own a copy of that, and I refuse to give it to anyone even as a gift.

I see you've misspelt School Day- no I can't. Fuck School Days. Fuck it to hell.

Agreed, there's a reason I own it.  It's not great, but it's actually just pretty generic.  My issues with it are threefold:

1) Tsukihime is not a generic story.
2) The adaptation is very confusing since it makes no attempt to explain any of the Nasuverse shit it throws at you, necessary or not.
3) The BIGGEST SPOILER REVEAL in the entire series is horribly handled since it a) is presented at an inappropriate time and with zero fanfare and b) is completely unnecessary to the story being told in the anime.

I see you've misspelt School Day- no I can't. Fuck School Days. Fuck it to hell.
Fun fact: we just watched School Days last week and it was terrible.  I used to like it a lot and would defend it in the past, but it took my 4th viewing to finally get upset enough to start throwing shit at my TV and realize how bad it was.  Maybe we were just too drunk though (or jealous of all the sex Makoto was having)

Wow, I was expecting to get corrected with Toradora, a.k.a. the second-greatest love story ever told.

Also, yeah, I wasn't able to finish School Days.

School Days required you to deliberately emotionally detach yourself from the goings-on as things got out of hand in order to simply witness the spectacle. With that being said, it has the look, feel, and vibe of a light-hearted dating sim anime with all the 18+ bits cleaned up. Considering it was the exact opposite, it either took an outside approach to enjoy it or an iron will to endure it.

Do I need to slog through the whole series all over again, or can I just watch like, the last 2 episodes after reading a brief plot summary elsewhere?

Wait, why do I even want to put that much effort into School Days?

Why would you publicly mock someone who's sending you a gift just because you may not like it? That seems rather excessive

:v you failed to read the tongue in cheek. It was more if you're gonna send something do realize I will (most likely) be publicly sharing it so I wouldn't send anything you're not proud of the neighbors knowing you bought :b

To be honest, much of my knowledge of it was flushed away years ago. All I really remember is trying to bond with the characters and picking out which girls I liked more than others. Some awkward stuff starts to happen and there's a part or two that screams THIS IS THE LAST HELICOPTER OUT OF VIETNAM and it shouldn't be taken seriously after that, which was probably around your last 2 episodes mark. It's doable, but do you really want to?

I wanted to set someone on fire and drown in a pool of HCl after I was done with that thing, so no, don't. Don't.
4ch made it slightly more tolerable with Nice Boat, but the show itself is the aborted spawn of beelzebub and shouldn't be watched by anyone

I have slightly strong feelings about this

Same here. It is quite watchable, just like Air Gear was. Except Air Gear was even more terrible in my opinion.

You fools! You mortal human and usagi fools! Open up your eyes! You're being deceived by an illusion that is corrupting your minds. Discover the truth, there was a Air Gear and Tsukihime anime.

One can only truly understand the Secret Santa if you discover the truth. Yes, it hurts (truth usually hurts) but that is how you overcome the Eiken horror.

Whatever you have against yogurt slides has no bearing on the masterpiece Eiken is.
