Just yesterday I helped Kojiremi out with some touch-ups updating a game translation patch from 1.04 to 1.07 for Touhou Pocket wars. When I first offered to help, I really had no clue how to do such a thing. What I did didn?t turn out to tough, and I rekon I could have solo?d the whole job if I needed to (I mean even without patch 1.04 to work off from, though it would have taken FOREVER). But I honestly have no idea how someone knows how to patch these games for hte first time. This particular one used ?xp3″ files, which I used a tool to extract and pack and such. But what about games that don?t use xp3 files?
Does anybody here have any knowledge on how one would go about making a translation patch for a game? (assuming you had someone who could translate), searching google doesn?t seem to work well. I think it would be nice to help out with other games that might not have someone who can patch them or whatever.
