Guillotine

Welcome to Guillotine! The aim of the game is to strategically decapitate nobles in order to collect as many points possible. Read up (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guillotine_%28game%29) on how to play the game.

A bit of MotK history: Guillotine was played on this forum previously (http://www.shrinemaiden.org/forum/index.php/topic,6153.msg358816.html#msg358816) as part of a trial to claim the title of Idiot Maiden. Check it out!

Notes:

This is sort of a test run while I try and figure out the best way to run this. Hopefully I don't mess anything up, and it's fun for everyone involved.

This should be a pretty fast-paced game, so you'll want to check in multiple times per day for your turn. If you take too long on your turn I'll either play for you or bring in someone else to play for you.

I'd like to start off with 3~4 players for now. Sign up now?first come first serve?and let's see how it goes!

Edit: As a side note it'd probably be best if everyone was in or around the same time zone as me for a smoother game. :V I'm in California.

Oh man oh man I remember the last time we played this. (I should probably let someone else have a turn though since I got to play last time. Or if you're gonna use MotK people for the nobles like that time I can totally be one. :V)

Man, I just read through the whole game again it it's kind of got me excited.
I suppose I should hold off and let others have a go as well, though.

I doubt anyone can top the final two moves of that game, though.

All right, we're gonna go straight into the start of things then!

Each of you should have received five cards via PM. I'll be constantly updating you with the cards you carry as you hold them, so it's probably a good idea to delete the old PMs as you go.

A quick rundown of gameplay:

First, you have the option of ##Playing an action card. Playing an action card is optional. Try to include all of the parameters that the action card needs to resolve.

Next, you will ##Collect the head of the noble at the front of the line. This is mandatory, and only in specific cases will you not collect a noble.

Finally, you will ##Draw a new action card, which is also mandatory.

The latter two actions can be handled automatically, so declaring them is really only a formality, but I like the way the last game was run so you guys should totally do it.

The game will begin on the next post, as soon as I get everything finalized.

Unfortunately, Ignoble Noble can't be used on the Rival Executioner, because it is unable to move exactly 4 spaces forward. (Moving from space 4 to space 1 would be moving it 3 spaces.) You'll have to do something else.

Action cards in front of a player are different from action cards held in a player's hand. There are no cards in front of any player, so Twist of Fate is unusable. I'll let you choose a different card if you want to.

That was a pretty calculated move :V You basically forced Raitaki to take the Martyr, whereas if the Land Lord was left then Raitaki could have taken that and left the Martyr for you, and if everything else was the same then Raitaki would've won with 23 points and everyone else at 22 points.

How does that scoring work? I come up with 25 points on Zengar.
EDIT: Adding up all the positive numbers and subtracting the negative numbers in his nobles list definitely has Zengar at 25 points, meaning it's not quite as close as portrayed.

I missed that one. I was already curious why his points listed a -2 when the greys add up to -3.

I probably won't be able to run another game for the rest of the month, so I'll upload the card lists for anyone else who wants to run a game. Make sure you understand the effects of each card before you run a game, though.
