As a French speaker, I'd say that looks like "je souhaite," which means "I hope."  I'm not entirely sure what the meaning behind that name is, though. :/

Thanks for that clarification, that must have been what that wiki page was talking about mentioning french.  I still don't know what that would have to deal with "mouth seals" though.
I think that spellcard forbids the use of spellcards, eating of food, and drinking of any drugs/potions on the floor you use it on.   Completely stupid imo unless you get satori to use it and screw herself over.

Um, doesn't half-ghost just refer to Youmu herself, not her ghost half?

I've only played Miracle Party, so I might be missing something, but it seemed like the obvious thing to say.

no, 半霊 (Hanrei), translated as "half-ghost" (hanrei is a shortening of  半幽霊, hanyuurei, half-ghost)refers to youmu's ghost half (the "marshmallow thing").

The amulets.
http://www.mediafire.com/?rgh769k47g3eclm

Please check for weird English.
Just translated 満腹度 to 'Hunger Gauge'

What should I do with these?
無病息災
家内安全
合格祈願
厄除け
大願成就
I don't know anything about Western talismans, so I'm not sure how to translate them.

店主の眼鏡, 無効, 法界炉(as an amulet) doesn't appear in the games, I think.

The ohagi.
http://www.mediafire.com/?2dixs2dskloo131

I'm so bad at Japanese and English. Someone must check these.

I don't think there's a western equivalent to omamori.  There's lucky charms, like a rabbit's foot or horseshoe but they aren't really specific or anything.

I'll just translate
無病息災 : Good Health
家内安全 : Home Safety
厄除け : Misfortune Prevention

合格祈願 means 'Wish for Success(in exams, etc.)' and
大願成就 means 'Achievement of a great wish'
but how can I make it more compact?

I'll translate 薬 in general as 'Potion', since 'Drugs' or 'Medicine' seem awkward.

How should I translate 怪力薬?
怪力薬 increases attack for a short time, and 怪力 means 'Superhuman Strength' or 'Monster Strength'.
But they are too long. Any suggestions?

I haven't checked the files yet, and have just a moment to write a reply...

I guess Wish for Success may be left as it is, it's not that long...
大願成就 maybe Wish Fulfillment?

And I'd skip words like "drug" or "amulet" in general cases. All the items seem to have always icon next to it, so it seems to be redundant.
Edit: It may be better to leave them in cases like "Sleeping Pills" or "Eye Drops".

怪力薬 I'd go with simply "Steroids"

Edit2: Well, I had few minutes so did a quick check of the files. Some names and descriptions may have to be rephrased a bit...

I'm so sorry about my shitty translations.
I'm not good at English, so maybe I should stop doing the translations and let someone else do this?

By the way, how many letters can fit in one item name?

The gaps
魍魎のスキマ is a gap which summons enemies when used. 魍魎 translates as 'All kinds of spirits and goblins'.
持ち越しのスキマ is a gap which 'carries over' items put in to the next floor. 持ち越し translates to 'carry over'
Any good suggestions?

心のスキマ
I have no idea why it is Mind Gap, but I can't find a better translation
換金のスキマ
Exchange Gap is a undescriptive name, and 換金 means 'Exchange for Money'. Any good suggestions?

I think you are doing a better job at translating (meanings) than I did, how about you translate and I'll spruce up the English?  (if you are okay with that)

換金のスキマ

魍魎のスキマ = Monster/Youkai Summon Gap?
心のスキマ = Heart/Life Gap (心 = Heart sounds better)
持ち越しのスキマ = Transfer Gap?
換金のスキマ = Money Conversion Gap?

Gaps.
http://www.mediafire.com/?z55kdfy6hfmn8l0

心のスキマ is based on a translatable pun.
Something about filling gaps of the mind.
I just translated it into Mind Gap, but I'm not sure if gaps of the heart is more proper English.

魍魎 itself means monster, so I am not sure about this.

I tried shortening the some of the names used in menus and fixing a few weird phrases (most of them were okay) for amulets.
http://www.mediafire.com/?7tl867ppu3vmry3

Are we going to have to write up translation notes at some point?  Just looking at the amulets and all the posts here there is a lot of lost context.

edit: started to translate the "unidentified" item list.  They are all kind of long like "rhombus-shaped thing" (no joke:ひし形の物) so I don't know how we can shorten them

ヤバ い形の物  - does this say "dangerous thing"? I'm not so sure.

Nah, it wasn't that bad, yet a kind of "translator + editor" cooperation seems to be a good idea.

As for the space it's hard to tell because of font, but I guess the least space is in shops (reference, still with test translation http://i.imgur.com/5DrGa.jpg)
It should be possible to resize these windows, but I'd prefer to avoid it as long as possible...

持ち越しのスキマ is a gap which 'carries over' items put in to the next floor. 持ち越し translates to 'carry over'

換金のスキマ
Exchange Gap is a undescriptive name, and 換金 means 'Exchange for Money'. Any good suggestions?
持ち越しのスキマ Hard to tell... Maybe postponing or deferring would work?
換金のスキマ Monetizing Gap or similar?

魍魎のスキマ = Youkai Summon Gap, more fit than monster I guess.
It seems that 魍魎 is literally "all kinds of spirits and goblins". It's not exactly a youkai (妖怪), yet they seem to have similar meaning.
Hm... I'd go with Monster Gap with this one.

Well, could try to gather such notes, but let me know if I'll skip something important. Should have it ready in few hours. Worst case, in a day.
Not sure about shortening... Maybe "some rhombus" would work?
ヤバ い (yabai) seems to be either something dangerous/risky/terrible or amazing/cool, but I'd say it's more of the first.

I got most of the unidentified item names down, there are a ton so I threw them into pastebins.  Any help trying to shorten them down/fix translations would be appreciated.

Amulets - All of the names are describing "shapes"
http://pastebin.com/Jb49XByu

Drugs- All the names describe it's "color"
http://pastebin.com/4SyyNHqk

Spellcards - All the names use "[random people from Gensokyo] Sign" format.
http://pastebin.com/8EY0uGQz

Ones im stuck on
(amulet)
"何だかわからない物"
"確かにそこにある物"
(spellcard)
"妖蟲の符" (I think this is talking about wriggle)

For shortening amulets, still no other ideas than using "some <shape>" where available... (like "some sphere", "some square")
Drugs and cards seem to be relatively short.

As for these... I guess it's rather literally:
何だかわからない物 "something unknown"
確かにそこにある物 "it's something"
but not sure if it can be used as it is...

妖蟲 seem to be short version of 妖怪蟲, a "youkai bug", so probably Wriggle.

Edit:
三原色の薬 Three Primary Color Drug
is rather long... maybe a "RGB Drug"?

Need some help on the Tags.
遠離の札
怨返しの札
八意湿布

遠離の札 is a tag that blows enemies backward. 遠離 itself doesn't have a meaning as far as I know.
遠 means 'far' and 離 means 'separation'. Any good suggestions?

Enemies hit with 怨返しの札 will receive a portion of damage Reimu receives.
Sort of like a counter, but damage from other enemies will also affect the enemy.
怨返し means 'Resent Return', but it sounds very weird.

八意湿布 : Yagokoro Medical Patch.
I'm not sure if omitting 'Medical' still makes sense.

And I just translated 加速 as 'Haste'. Is this okay?

Some help on the translations.
懐が温かくなった!
財布が軽くなった・・・。
These two are the messages that pop up when money doubles and zeros, respectively.
The phrases roughly translates to "Pocket became warmer" and "Money pouch became lighter"

Hmm, for idioms..let me think.

No money
- "poor as the church mouse"
-"break the bank"
-"flat broke/went broke"

rich/made a bunch of money
-"rags to riches"
-"hit pay dirt" (literally, found gold)
-"hit the jackpot"

English has a ton of these, so I bet I can find some more if these aren't good.

Something that can replace "Money doubled" and "Lost all the money"
Or maybe I should just use these, but the something seems to be lost in the translation if I do that.

The weapons, arrgh.

Any good translations for 妖刀?

And would it be okay to translate both 刀 and 剣 both into 'sword'?
刀 is a single-edge sword, and 剣 is a double-edge sword. So they are different things.

What is the difference between うちわ and 扇?
Should I use 'Folding Fan' for  扇?

おはらい棒 and 奇跡の棒, what should they be translated as?

I guess the best ones are "went broke" (implies lost all money), and "hit the jackpot" (implying won, such as from double or nothing, which I think is one of the spellcards)

Any good translations for 妖刀?
Youkai Sword?

And would it be okay to translate both 刀 and 剣 both into 'sword'?
刀 is a single-edge sword, and 剣 is a double-edge sword. So they are different things.

I don't know of any way to differentiate a sword by being single/double edged, unless you specify the actual sword, such as a scimitar (single) and a longsword (double).
I guess this is something else that's going to get lost in translation.

What is the difference between うちわ and 扇?
Should I use 'Folding Fan' for  扇?
I'm not sure.  I think they are both "fan" but maybe one is specified differently?  There's a difference between Aya's fan (which is round) and Yuyuko's fan (which is a folding fan) and maybe that's the difference..

おはらい棒 and 奇跡の棒, what should they be translated as?
おはらい棒 = Ohara Stick?
奇跡の棒 = miracle stick? (I think that's the name of one of those magical☆sakuya/miracle☆sanae sticks though)
I'm not sure about any of these really...

edit: Having trouble with gaps, a lot of them seem to run into each other.

いかがわしい could mean unreliable, or ambiguous
怪しげな could mean suspicious, or shady.

It is quite a small difference, actually.

Does anybody know what 宝形(ほうぎょう) translates to.
It is apparently some type of architecture. Should I translate it to 'Pagoda-like'?

Won't quote the posts, but:

The difficult tags.
怨返しの札 Damage Share or similar?
八意湿布 Yagokoro Compress?
加速 seems to be more of accelerating, maybe "speed-up" would work better.

For money messages, none of them is literally saying what happens in Japanese, so "Jackpot!" and "You're broke..." should work fine.

As for types of swords in general... Maybe "blade" and "sword"?
妖刀 wouldn't be Demon Sword? (http://tangorin.com/#general/妖刀))
Edit: Or a Fey Blade, even better

With fans I guess using "Tengu Fan" and "Fan" should be good.

宝形(ほうぎょう) It seems that Hougyou is a name, but it uses different Kanji. May be (un)intentional. (http://tangorin.com/#general/ほうぎょう)
Not really sure what to do with this.

And I realized that it may be difficult to put anywhere the TL notes, unless someone wants to update Wiki (or rather create the pages)... It may be better to do it and gather these after finishing, starting from last page.

Weapons
http://www.mediafire.com/?3fnx6y7yo0tywuy

For the Pagoda description,
宝形(ほうぎょう)の基壇に伏鉢(ふくばち)形の塔身を置き、宝形の屋根石を載せたもの。

宝形(宝形造) is a style of architecture, and 伏鉢 is the name of a part of a pagoda.
The description itself just describes the weapon, but 宝形 and 伏鉢 doesn't seem to have any English equivalent.
宝形造 could be translated to 'Hip roof', but 'Hip roof base' is weird English, although that's what pagoda bases look like.

And I guess I've just learned another meaning of 'Compress'.

I've never heard of the term 'Fey Blade'. Can someone explain this term?

大願成就 is a completely different thing from 合格祈願.
I think 'Wish Fullfillment' is too weak.

I think I've found 宝塔... Not sure if it'll help with translation though: http://www.onmarkproductions.com/html/objects-symbols-weapons-senju.html (look for Stupa near the end of page). Seems to match the description.
Edit: And here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glossary_of_Japanese_Buddhism (look for 宝塔 near end of H section) we could use part of the description.

I've never heard of the term 'Fey Blade'. Can someone explain this term?
In this case "fey" would be
A word meaning "wild or crazy acting", often ascribed to supernatural causes and evidenced by abnormal behavior (cognate to Old Norse feigr, German feige). In Scottish superstition, supernatural abilities such as prophecy (not necessarily related to dying or death). (from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fey)
It may be also reference to either Final Fantasy or Soul Eater (also uses 妖刀) , but it's a long shot...

大願成就 is a completely different thing from 合格祈願.
I think 'Wish Fullfillment' is too weak.
Hm... Then maybe Achievement or even Great Achievement?
Out of ideas to be honest. If we want to preserve full meaning it's going to be a bit long.

Edit2: Why did I forget about it... For short name we could use "Achievement" and the full name may be left as "Achievement of a Great Wish"
