Not working on 60fps
« on: March 18, 2012, 02:19:43 AM »
Hi everyone :)
TD is not working on 60fps but randomly between 20-30fps.
I have checked the FAQ but none of the solutions worked.
I have tried the Vsync Patch, but it isn't working even with "DisableCheckSum = 1" at the end.
Is there any suggestion regarding this problem?

What're your full system specs?  You can use this to get them.

Your computer is pretty slow.  =/  Even though they're '2D', Touhou games do need real 3D graphics hardware.  You might want to consider updating your machine at some point.

This is pretty much the only way to solve that problem there. You'll need some new hardware. If you're intent on running 10D on that, you can probably halve the framerate and change the input latency. Thats how I got it to run a little better than it would normally from Stage 3 onward.

Oh it's the problem of slow machine. At least make the framerate 1/3 (or half, it's make not much difference anyway) help bring it to around 55-60 fps, and the vsync works better :) Is "Stable" the best input latency in this situation?

Generally, no. If you're using vsync, you should have the latency set to fast. This will allow vsync to operate the way it's supposed to. You also might want to alter the vpatch.ini file for the type of vsync, where it says Vsync = <number>. 0 or 1 are best. 0 means it tries to keep the fps at 60, with very minor input latency. 1 means that vsync will play Touhou at your monitor's refresh rate, in which case, I see yours is 60Hz, which also means 60fps, and it will allow for better input, so there's no minor lag as mentioned in 0. (you can also set it to 2 or 3 but I don't really see the point in those) Play around with that and see what works best for you.
I figured out how to play midi in games with a different device on Win7 ^^
