>Asess the local architecture
>Avoid contact with everything and anything.

>You hum, and feel a little sad that humming alone cannot quite get the festiveness right.
>The buildings here are made of solid-looking wood, with roofs laquered in various colors. If you recall properly, there is a surprising amount of weather down here.
>So far, so good.

>Look around for the Palace

>You see the outline of a large building on the far side northern side of town. That could be it.

>Curse your lack of Vitamin A!
>Head towards the building

>You head north.
>You are in the center of town. There are a lot of food stands here, selling a variety of tasty-looking treats. There are also quite a few oni milling about, carrying on with their daily lives. Save for the few oni lingering about to watch those two on the roof fighting. A broad throughfare intersects with the one you are on. Obvious exits are North, South, and East.

>If it can be deep fried, you can find it here!

>You hasten to the North.
>You are in a shopping district! There are all sorts of common items for sail here. Nothing quite so interesting as the stock at Rinnosuke's. Most of the goods are pretty blatantly on display here. It's not as though oni would steal them. And heaven help you if oni catch you stealing. The far wall of the cavern is visible here. A street runs west and east; to the east you can see the Palace of the Earth Spirits. Obvious exits are South, West, and East.

>If there's nothing good, East to the komeiji residence, pray you don't meet koishi. if you do, intiiate romance

>The stores are mostly clothing and housewares, the former seeming to have lousier prices and selection than Shou's, and the latter not being all that interesting.
>You head east toward the Palace of the Earth Spirits.
>You stand in front of a large, imposing sort of manor that looks more like a fortress than any kind of home. The walls are made of stone and set with stained glass windows. Flat roofs give the the structure something of a boxy feel, and neatly hide any hints of architectural beauty. Moss covers the outer walls, add some much needed color and texture to an otherwise drab and dreary place. Obvious exits are West and North.

>why would oni kidnap people, exactly?
>nibble hobo penny

>Perhaps it is a sport?
>You nibble on the Hobo Penny. This works about as well as you'd expect.

> Walk into Komeiji residence impatiently.

>You proceed North and enter the Palace
>You are in a large, empty hall; easily large enough to hold hundreds of people. Two lines of columns create an implied corridor down the middle of the hall, with a red carpet set between them. The floor is made of carefully tessellated black and white tiles. Stained glass windows allow in the light from the city, casting multi-colored light everywhere Obvious exits are North, South, East, and West

>compare Palace to the SDM
>explore! Say, west.
>temperature

>It is like comparing a fine sculpture to a pile of wet sand. This place has almost no class at all.
>You head west!
>You come to an empty kitchen. It is rather large and impressive-looking, with ranges and stoves and cabinets to put Scarlet Devil Mansion's kitchen to shame. But without any activity, its impressiveness gives way to a sort of lonely feeling. It is also a bit more dusty than you'd like in a few places. There are a number of dirty bowls placed haphazardly on the floor. A calico cat lounges on one of the countertops, while a striped orange cat watches you from the corner.

>You may be in the process of making amends with Sakuya, but you see no reason to reveal information she could use to mock you just yet, given her own proclivities regarding such things.
>You'd need to spend some time on this, and pick a style.
