took a few days to finish this after tons of procrastinating... sort of like a preview but only because im too lazy to upload the whole thing somewhere lmao :V

(also the warm effect was via converting straight from rgb to cmyk, still unsure if i want to keep it..)

I think the warmer colours add to the character a bit. It makes the scene a bit more cozy and inviting, especially if the final background were, say, indoors. Thus I would keep it unless you deliberately want a neutral white level or a cooler tone.

The final background's actually just that dark grey bg, and since it's rather neutral (than a warm or cool grey) I wasn't sure if I wanted the colours to be warm haha
I think I'll be keeping the warm tone!

Some misc notes on drawing this that I don't know where else to put lmao:
- midway I regretted choosing to draw 21 characters on it
- drawing all of them without referencing after not drawing touhou extensively for maybe 1-2 years (i blame kancolle) was easier than i thought

Practice! lots of practice. and not just normal practice, grinding too (aka drawing stuff out of your comfort zone, but no need to rush, take it steady at your own pace!)

i hate drawing ugh

spent so many hours on the touching up after rendering the two girls agghh i hate how i'm not satisfied with it but i don't have the skills to make it better

edit: wringes head into hand it still feels so empty i might edit it somemore :colonveeplusalpha:

Bubbles look really nice, it has a watercolor sort of feel to it. Watercolor effects in general look so nice.
People who can digitally paint /headshot
Wouldn't call it empty.... maybe 'grounded' or 'unfocused' if I had to search for a negative term? Maybe because there doesn't seem to be any point of focus. The girl in the back is looking at the girl in the front, but she's looking straight outside the picture. Whether through use of contrast (color, brightness, saturation, shapes, etc) or perspective or other devices, there doesn't seem to be anything that calls for my attention. So for a art piece, my eyes kinda wander. Food for thought.

Edit: though if I had to say, my eyes currently focus on the red haired girl's golden eyes, because well it's eyes, the general line of sight of the blue haired girl goes through them, and it seems to be an area of the most contrast and interest/motion seeing as the rest of the piece is mostly shades of blue and purple. eh

Wow.. I..

please crit my art from now on ;_; So that's the problem with it... I was glued to my computer infront of the canvas because there was something about the picture that was irritating me no matter how many layers i added, it feels slightly satisfying to finally know what was bothering me aaah.

it's funny because i wanted to do an analogous colour scheme for this piece (pink, purple, blue) but then rainbow liquid happened :derp:

yeah, here's my twitter i kinda stopped uploading stuff onto it other than 1hr draws because i felt my other stuff isnt worth putting it on there nowadays but if you're interested in the stuff i draw nowadays...
