Agreed. There should be a rule about ZUN's characters; if they can be female, they will. If they are male, they, at best, get a paragraph in the manual, in the games.

I still cannot quite grasp what do you mean by paragraph in manual, anyways it's fine if all female, but it is interesting to see a playable or enemy male in this 99.99% female character in this game

Somehow I have a feeling that ZUN was almost wanting to have a male character in UFO and I wonder if that was something of a phase or will eventually just break down and do it. I also have the feeling that introducing a male character in Touhou 13 will cause Tasofro to release Touhou 13.5 Touhou? humongoid brawl over who gets to be the one with a boyfriend.

Eh, I'm fine either way. It's not like there aren't male characters in Touhou already (even if they're pink clouds and turtles for the most part. ) I don't see any particular need to add male characters, though.

I think, no matter what it will be, if it's a roster of females as usual, a surprising male entry or a genderless-five-magic-stones-alike, we (as in the majority of the fandom) will probably be happy with it.

We have never seen original male ZUN-Art, so I'd like to see that as much as everyone else, but no matter what, if the story and the characters in it are interesting, nothing will take me away from it.

This time, I'm looking forward to new and unique gimmicks as I want to relive the surprise of a anchor suddenly getting embedded in my face!  :3

fo srs. There has been shown (or described) more than Rinnosuke in official works, and at the very least the characters recognize the existence of males. I'm still under the assumption that all youkai males possess a lesser innate magical ability than the females on a general scale.

No kidding. If we had Shingyoku in HRtP then there's still a possibility of a male character, but then it's a tiny one. ZUN has changed A LOT since PC-98, so this is just my wishful thinking.
