Can't run Touhou 6-14 on Windows 7
« on: August 28, 2018, 11:50:24 PM »
As the title says, I can't run Touhou 6-14 on Windows 7, even though 15 and 16 works perfectly fine. I installed Direct X 9, and set my applocale to Japanese, but everytime I open it, it crashes. Like "th06.exe stopped working" with the error message Appcrash even though I set it to run on administrator and run on compability mode on Windows XP SP3. Can anyone help me? Thanks!

Maybe you'll find something that helps in these threads:

Some things I would try:
- Reboot.
- Switch system locale to Japanese. Make a new Windows user account.
- Uninstall the games. Clear any leftover files (in the game directories as well as %appdata%\ShanghaiAlice; if you have any scores/replays move them elsewhere). Reinstall in a different location (say, C:\ZUN\). Also run DirectX installers from the game CDs.
- Run custom.exe and change to windowed mode at lowest resolution.
- Update drivers.
- Temporarily disable antivirus if you use one. But run a scan before that.
- Try launching via thcrap. Also try some compatibility programs like dgVoodoo.
